currently no way to root other than by connecting to a laptop/pc. if you have issues with camera it is either you have a software or hardware issue, update your software to the latest available and see if there are any issues, if they still persist you may have a faulty unit. btw if you have questions like this, post in the correct forum, please read the rules!
HI Amritttt,

[Q] Xperia SP problems and questions before buying

Hello everyone,I am ready to buy Xperia SP but I want to know some things first.
1.How good is the camera-screen??
2.Does OTG and MHL work like stock ROMS in CM11??
3.Are there any major bugs in CyanogenMod ROMs which will never be fixed??
4.Does the phone has problems with hardware??
Please answer as many questions as you can!
Why are buying xperia sp? I committed the biggest mistake of my life when I bought SP a few months ago. Sony has abandoned SP. I suggest you to buy Moto G 2014. I bought it for my sister and its amazing.

3. No, everything works well.

Since sony has abandoned SP. The unofficial support is rather limited as there are no sources. On the other hand, moto G will get better support as motorola is already officially releasing lollipop and would probably upgrade moto g to atleast one more android upgrade.
New official update => Official Kernel source and Binaries and libraries => Better custom rom support
also custom rom support is coming to the end too, KK roms are being finalized and cm12 for daily usage is vague.
anyway, with PAC 4.4.4 phone is good, no bugs. For cm11 I experience random reboots, nav bar lag tho.

Stock camera files vs Z5 libs?

Just wanted to know your thoughts about this subject. I've recently bought a Xperia Z3 Compact and I am not really sure which one of them I should chose.
I saw couple of mods around, but still don't know which one to try. If someone who's a veteran around and knows his way could help me I'd be grateful.

I have room installed it was perfect until my phone bills came ti me. The room had some programs that send anything that I do. Sorry for my English.

newly purchased xz1 compact. december 2019.

Hi, I have my newly purchased xz1 compact.
I see that there are many risks and problems when unlocking the bootloader.
I appreciate if someone gives me an updated opinion of whether it is useful to unlock bootloader today?
thanks in advance
It's a very personal question and difficult to get an answer from strangers. It all depends on what you want to do with the phone? Have you rooted a phone before? If no, then this probably isn't a good place to start.
The road to successfully rooting is long and complicated
But this thread is probably the best place to start.
Personally I think it's more trouble that its worth.
Thanks for your answer. I read your post in another thread. and hence my question. I have already rooted one of them the z1 compact before. but there was not the degree of diffi xzcu xzlty that I find. here. Could you give me a brief account of the real benefits of rooting in xz1 compact today.

Everyone has their own reason for rooting. If you dont have a reason to root. Then don't. I used to root in the past to remove bloatware, because I used to buy Japanese sony's which came with tons of it. Other people rooted for GPS hacking with pokemon go. Some wanted to theme their devices, make the apps and menu's into dark theme, etc. Other's wanted to remove facebook or google services from the phone for privacy.
I can say though - in December 2019 - you can root your phone, and keep your google pay, and camera functionality. So the downside of root, for me, are totally gone.
@Dean F
thanks for your answer. clearer now. a December 2019 root in xz1 compact is less dangerous than in 2017. I will be well informed by the rooting process. which is badly complicated than in other brands. And finally I will. reason install roms of Android Q. thanks again
