(My very first post, very sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question.)
I am trying to write an app to support 5G-specific function, but cannot figure out how to detect the phone is on a 5G network. Android Q added a new network type, NETWORK_TYPE_NR, but it is not available in Android Pie. The just-released Samsung S10 5G is running in Android Pie yet has fully supported 5G function. It also has a 5G icon to indicate whether the phone is on 5G or not.
So how does it do that? Is it possible for the third party-app to know whether the phone is on 5G or not?
Any help (or tip, hint et al) is appreciated! I looked at the Android open source code but there is no mention on 5G on the Pie branch.
After looking at the list of devices that is scheduled to receive the android 10 update, I can't help but notice that the 5G isn't actually listed in that long list of devices. Is this meaning that the 5G will not receive android 10?
Hello Everyone! I have yet again ran into the same issue with VoLTE that i did upgrading to Android 9 with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960U. There is no internet or data usage while on calls unless near WiFi. Last time, with the Android 9 update, VoLTE wasn't even an option, but it is an option within connections - mobile networks and is enabled with Android 10. I used Odin and downgraded the stock Android 8 for this Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960U and just settled. So i read about the 10 updates and seen that is was back and wanted to be on the latest OS but now its the same. I really do not want to go back to 8 although i did attempt it using Odin and it didn't work. Read through a post here that the bootloader for 10 wont allow it?
Guess my question is:
Is there a fix for the VoLTE issues i am having again with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960U with Android 10 One UI 2.0?

hi everyone, a few months ago huawei released an android 10 update which was full of bugs and crashes etc. Most people including myself has to return to android 9 losing their data, contacts etc. Now, every single day phone asking me to update and my question is, do you know if these bugs was fixed and now I can safely do an android 10 update? thanks.
For me Google pay is not working anymore I heard it was fine on Android 9
Is there no way to block the update notification im planning on going back to Android 9

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the NFC working on my Mi Note 11?
I'm in Australia and have gone from a Mi 9 with NFC to a Mi Note 11 which seemed to have it in the advertised specs, but after some googling, and seeing a little asterisk next to the NFC label saying that NFC compatibility was "*dep. on the region", I'm left with a phone that doesn't have any NFC menu in the OS at all.
Is it something that can be fixed by flashing a different firmware, or is there some kind of hardware limitation with my specific model?
