We’re really excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Pie betas.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those who are unfamiliar, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhances the overall user experience.
The beta builds include adjustments and improvements on top of the stock Android CAF base. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features.

Nice ?

HOLY nice surprise! Definitely will be checking this out... Havent tested PA out in forever!

Woah

Holy Molly PA!!! Tnx a lot!

Glad to see this! First question, recommended OOS base version would be 9.03, 9.04 or Broken Beta for this initial version?
I would suggest adding this info to OP. Thanks!

Nice OP amigo.

Sorry for asking, no need to flash OxygenOS Stable on both partition?
Anyway, thanks for bring PA on 6/6T. Flashing it right now. (i try flash like flash TreskMod ROM)

A slight heads-up to anyone planning to flash, since the security patch is very old (since it's a pure CAF ROM), you'd have to wipe internal storage for it to actually boot.
Basically blame file-based encryption for this.

Here my installation procedure and it boot and works.
- Flash the latest OOS Stable
- Flash TWRP.zip
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash OOS Stable
- Flash TWRP.zip
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash PA
- Wipe Data and Cache only
- Flash TWRP.zip
- Reboot to Recovery
- Flash OpenGApps
- Reboot to system
Work
- Everything, RIL and include GCam works
Not working or bug
- sometime, AOD appear lockscreen content.
Customization, not there, maybe next update will add-on it.

Okay. On the ROM. Two issues for now:
1) When I press the power button to go to the lock screen, I cannot switch off the screen by pressing the power button. I need to go to the main screen and then press the power button.
2) Boot animation is not fast. Takes almost the same time as the first boot.
Thank you! Will test the battery life and send screenshots.

Also, does PureCAF mean better battery life?

Wow...atlast the beast has came to op6 ?

First. Awesome, excited to check it out! Does this only have Google gestures? Or option for a nav bar?
I know it'll be asked a lot, so may want to include flashing instructions especially with the whole Qualcomm dump mode.
Been waiting for this ROM on the 6.
anyone know how to change color mode in this rom?
Does all function of the camera work?
Including the oos camera inside?
thanks for sharing, will try it sure
OMG! You rock, this rom is awesome
Guys loving this ROM but touch latency is fluctuating just like in latest Open Beta OOS. If you keep your fingers on the display and scroll up and down, you will see the touch latency fluctuate and jump at times. It's especially bad in developer options. Hope this can be eventually fixed. Also the haptic feedback is too strong compared to stock OOS. I will root tomorrow to adjust it, but I figured I'd let you guys know. Those are my two main issues so far. Otherwise I'm loving the ROM so far. Thank you!

2. Factory reset
3. Flash the rom
4. Flash TWRP
5. Reboot recovery

This is great! I love Paranoid Android.
Wonderful job sir Amar and team!
Thank you!!
Looks great, thanks @amarbajpai!
I'm curious about wiping Vendor.
Why is this needed in order to flash PA correctly?
Other ROMs don't require this specific step, with the exception of AIO ROMs and GSIs.
Is there something coming from PA related to this?

It's just a generalised step if you are coming from a GSI. In practice it doesn't matter if you have nothing already in the vendor partition.
Steps are same as other custom roms. Though clean flash is required.
@herna after all these years I saw your name in OP. after you had lost your moto g in college days. Welcome back buddy
I never knew Paranoid Android still existed. Haven't used it since Jellybean days. Good work OP
Add some ss bro
So are there any famous PA features included or is that to be expected in the next build?
At least give a fair warning that no camera, messaging apps included, so that people wont flash gapps nano

Simply the best. Nice beta. Only a few features but it's running stable so far :good:

Bugs I've found:
1. green tint in photos taken by WhatsApp and PA camera
2. Can't sign in chromium using the already added google account. (Using pico gapps) .
Thanks for bringing PA to life again.

Green tint on whatsapp pictures is present even on stock Oreo and Pie because of the camera2api enabled.

In first, this in an alpha version, then there is some bugs. You can use it for a daily rom. Personally, it's my favorite ROM since a lot of years.
I beleve, she is only base on caf then it's optimise for Qualcomm's device. Fluidity and good performance, and very good battery life.
I repeate, it's an alpha version, let the dev work and you'll see the magic
i instaled opengapps and they don`t appear, Google Play is missing. tried full and nano.
does it work with xiaomi.eu stable? because I tried with wiping cache, dalvik cache, data then installing xiaomi.eu stable and pa like 5 times and ended up in a bootloop

Flash magisk and twrp recovery ( recommended )
Reboot in recovery
Format data

Flash AOSPA
Flash gapps ( micro package )
Flash magisk for root ( optional )

I have tried with another firmware, and this disappeared with the 04/11 version.

You need to format data in the wipe section directly.
And use another firmware, flash the full ROM of stable miui 11 of 04/11. The xiaomi.EU 's ROM is not the good firmware, I think.

Great News Thank You so much
Nice, congratulations
If somebody have problem about difference of CAF Code Aurora Forum vs AOSP vs LineageOS this link is handy
https://customroms.net/faq/caf-vs-aosp-los-roms/
"CAF ROMs, if available, are therefore generally considered to be more optimized for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs than LOS and AOSP ROMs. The difference is mainly in the base, so the only thing that might get better on CAF ROMs is the optimization (in performance, RAM management, battery, etc.,). Suppose there are two variants of the same ROM (like Pixel Experience), one of which is based on AOSP and the other on CAF. In this case, there should only be differences in optimization and not features, as it is only the base that’s different unless the developers intentionally implement extra features into the CAF ROM."

What happens when you try to fastboot twrp? I didn't actually flash the vbmeta files as I don't have my fastboot laptop till Friday. Must of been lucky.

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.
Device-specific issues
- Double tap to wake
- Buggy FOD
- Safetynet

Make sure you are running the stable Latest EEA (12.0.2) of China (12.0.4 or later) rom before flashing the ROM.

Pru dev ! Good job
Nice job!
First of all, many thanks for your work. The first thing I noticed after the installation was the camera application does not start. Cleaning app data doesn't help. Does anyone have any idea ?? I also tried GCAM but without success.
