Pretty basic if you ask me not that a boot animation is really that important but you'd think they'd put a bit more effort into it.

Thanks. I prefer this to our white version with the crappy ANDROID text at the bottom.
Are there any other logo.img files for this phone? Or any apps that will create them?

Unfortunately in fastboot mode this gives some crappy Chinese text.......so I reverted back.
any way to get the red boot logo but our cyanogenmod animation? I'm wondering if a combo would look sexier.

Actually I did that. I have red boot logo at the beginning and then it changes to cm animation. What I did? I flashed zip from this OP ColorOs, but it was a crap (sorry mate) so I restored my CM11s from backup in twrp and voila!
So this means we can create custom bootsplash using (probably) the same method that was originally pioneered on the G1? (It also worked on Mytouch & G2)
Sweet!
@graffixnyc
Thanks for your help.
I'm wondering if there's any way for the logo.img flashing to be done as a flashable zip? I ask only because I flash nightlies a lot (CM11) and its hard for me to plug in all the time to do fastboot flash LOGO logo.img when I'm traveling for work like 80% of the time I know first world problems. How to convert the logo.img to a flashable zip?
Also is there any way for logo.img to be modified so the fastboot logo isn't Chinese but rather what it is in stock?

I don't know exactly how you do it, but I know you can make a flashable zip run a normal shell script. In this shell script you can dd the image to the proper partition... it's a bit sketchier though IMO..
Why do you need to re-flash? The logo partition isn't affected by flashing nighties. It should stick around between flashes.

No the logo is changed to the white boot logo after flashing nightlies.
The splash or the boot animation? The splash should be unaffected.

The splash. I've done this fastboot flash logo logo.img many times and it works, but once I flash the next CM11 Nightly, its gone. I have to keep doing this everytime, meaning I need to do it on a specific computer. Kinda annoying.
The animation isn't too hard to replace, although I'm wondering if CM's init.d scripts can help preserve the file.

There used to be a place you could stash it on removable media that would be picked up instead of the stock system bootanimation.
Anyone know if that still works?
Well, the partition where the splash screen is known. It's possible to make a .zip that we can flash with every nightly. Personally, I'm too scared to experiment with that. That partition is related to the bootloader, so it's very possible to brick our OPOs with a .zip to flash the splash screen after every nightly. Honestly, I'm just fine with having to reboot into the bootloader to flash the splash screen after every flash.

It depends on the ROM you're using though.
Typically works with all AOSP roms.
However, I've found that bootanimations don't seem to run fully with the OPO phone for some odd reason.
It's like the animation runs once, doesn't loop and then the screen goes dark until the phone boots up completely.

Any chance to get the original, out of the box CM splash screen here from the One Plus one? Want to use it on another phone.
Thanks in advice
Logo works.
Bootanimation and rebootanimation don't @CM 11 Nightly from 09/24/2014. Any idea?

How to remove the logo.bin file

I flashed a logo.bin file yesterday and decided I don't want it, and just want a custom boot animation. I installed the boot animation, but now it shoes the logo first and then the animation. Anyone know how to remove the logo?
On rooted Moto X Pure 6.0
Make a logo.bin with a small white or black image and flash it.

@jdugery ... If you go to page 2 of this Section (X Themes and Apps) and scroll down the page you will find a thread started by me in December 2015 which deals with Boot Logos "Motorola Boot Logos built using Boot Logo Maker". There are several ready made Logos for the Moto X which you can flash to replace what you have. In the early part of the thread you will see how to flash the logo.bin files using ADB and Fastboot. If you check through to the end of the thread you will find Boot Logos built as "Flashable Zip" files which you can flash using TWRP or any other custom recovery. I'm certain you will find a Logo which will suit you better.

[MOD] Change power-on logo (splash logo)

Edit: Thanks to @GokulNC now there is a tool to create custom splash images (boot logo) for the LePro 3 (LEX720 and LEX727).
If you want to create a new splash logo (power-on screen) first head over to GokulNC's thread here for the HOWTO::
[GUIDE] How to Create Splash Screen (Boot Logo) for Le Pro3
If you like it and want to share, feel free to post your work in this thread here!
GokulNC's tool allows you to change the power-on screen for:
normal boot (the LePro 3 has three images which will be displayed alternately)
recovery
fastboot
charging mode
For reference: the images get displayed by the bootloader (aboot) and are stored in the following partition:
Code:
/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash
# which is a symlink to:
/dev/block/sde32
The data contained in this partition will be owerwritten when you install a LeEco stock image (it's the file "splash.img" contained in any stock image download like LE_ZL1_LEX720-CN-FN-WAXCNFN5801811021S-5.8.018S.zip), so the splash logo gets resetted when you flash back a full stock system image. So don't worry if you change the logos, after a full system re-flash they will be restored to stock. You can also always just flash the "splash.img" from any stock ROM to restore the original boot logos (see posting #7 down below for original Logos from LEX720).
Thanks and Credit to:
@GokulNC for his splash maker tool
Google for making Android and the logo
@androcheck Okay, but the splash.img of the Redmi Note 3 is subject to a constraint of size 75kB.
This doesn't have to apply for your device..
Maybe if you could send your original splash.img, I'll create a tool for you..
Can you try this? This is original EUI splash screen. Thanks

Hi! Thanks for dropping by!
Peter-C has already posted the original splash.img. I looked into his rar file and it's the same file (same sha1sum) as in the last stock firmware download (LE_ZL1_LEX720-CN-FN-WAXCNFN5801811021S-5.8.018S.zip).
If you could look into it this would be great!

It's done
I created a new thread to explain things..
[GUIDE] How to Create Splash Screen (Boot Logo) for Le Pro3
Please check if this works properly..
And, remove the reference to Redmi Note 3 splash.img link in the OP, that's highly misleading for your device.
Also, use this thread to post & share the splash screens that you or others have made
I also made a splash.img with the Google Pixel power on-screen and also slighlty modified the "fastboot" and "recovery" screen (of my chinese LePro 3). See the images attached.
Simply install the zip file with TWRP.
Attached you will find the unmodified original splash.img as a TWRP-flashable zip file, exactly as it is contained in the chinese LEX720 WAXCNFN5801811021S-5.8.018S stock system image.
Use this to revert the boot image to stock (I don't know if the US version has different logos).

My bootlogo for Lex720
Hi! Thanks a lot for that opportunity and hints! Here's my bootlogo for Lex720 (my phone), titled "Chinese warrior", just in touch with this phone!
It isn't my drawing, I found the central image on the web time ago and saved it to reutilize in cases like this!
Have added the LeEco logos and the 821 Qualcomm cpu logo... enjoy!
The demo image here is in low res, in the bootlogo it is in full HD.

Hello, I'm a x727 owner and I've noticed that the USA model has a different splash screen. I had lost it during the flash of the FlymeOS rom and my TWRP backup and the 21s x727 backup from XDA didn't returned it. So, anybody here has the stock x727 USA model's splash? (FYI: It's the same as the x720 but all in English).

[BOOT LOGO] Moto G5 Plus [Project 9 ¾]

I have made some Boot Logos for Moto G5 Plus (Potter) and would like to share them with the community.
Features :
N/A hidden
Redesigned bootloader menu
Some other minor changes in boot logo images
These Boot Logos can also be flashed to other Motorola Devices with 1080X1920 screen resolution like:
Moto G4
Moto G4 Plus
Moto G5
Moto G5s
Moto G5s Plus
Moto X4
Moto Z2 Play
Other Motorola phone users may use the version of the boot logo with motorola written on the image instead of moto g5 plus.
Use VX.0_BL_9-3_by_4 Zip for Moto G5 Plus.
Use VX.1_BL_9-3_by_4 Zip for other Motorola devices.
The file names with DT at the end stand for Boot Logos suited for Dark Theme.
All Boot Logos have been posted on SOURCEFORGE and more would be added in the coming future. The designs have been separated into two folders and further organized inside each folder by version numbers starting with V1. All the zips are functionally the same and you can flash whichever version you like. The only difference is in the text shown on the Boot Logo image. Head down for viewing previews and downloading the boot logos.
How to Install (via Custom Recovery)
Download the desired ZIP file to your phone
Boot to your Custom Recovery
Go to Install
Go to the location where you have saved the ZIP file
Install the ZIP file and reboot
How to Install (via Fastboot)
Download the desired ZIP file to your PC
Extract logo.bin from the zip file into your adb folder on your PC
Boot to Fastboot
Enter these commands in adb: fastboot flash logo logo.bin
Reboot
Boot Logo Previews

Hey,
I just installed your images it was pretty nice and decent.
BUT
can the "Android" logo be removed from the top right corner of the dark one?
It's part of the design.
You can go to my boot animations post and download the boot animation with the same version number. That one comes without android logo for the version you are talking about.
Just flash remove boot animation zip from the project to remove the boot animation in case you don't like it. The new boot logo will not be removed.

I don't provide logo.bin on my projects page linked above. They are all flashable zips. Since, logo.bin is included in all of these zip files, I cannot know which one you are talking about.
Can you try with the flashable zips. All of them are TWRP flashable. Just select and swipe to flash.

It said something this time about the signature being invalid. It's just the message that would go overtop the regular boot logo, but it's going over your logo instead. Can you keep the thing from generating that text in the first place?

If your boot logo has anything except N/A being displayed then there is some issue with your bootloader or your ROM. I cannot control the text. It is generated by your bootloader.
It would not be wise to hide that anyway.
Are you by chance running Motorola stock OS but with just the bootloader unlocked?
