Can someone please provide detailed successful decrypt, BT audio fix steps? - Moto E5 Questions & Answers

I've had this phone for quite sometime and enjoy it but really want RR on it but anytime I try to follow the decrypt steps it never works. Says that the phone needs to be reset. I'm not new to rooting or modding or anything but new to GSI I guess at this point. Can someone please provide detailed steps for decrypting, installing a custom recovery that sticks, custom ROM and BT audio fix with links please. I have the MetroPCS Hannah variant with unlocked bootloader. Thanks in advance, guys!!!

Hydrogen OS 2.5.1 to Oxygen OS 3.5

Hi everyone,
I literally just got the Chinese version of the oneplus 3T (A3010) and I want to move from Hydrogen OS 2.5.1 to Oxygen OS 3.5 official with OTA. Does anyone have the file or instructions how to do this? I found instructions for the oneplus 3 but not sure with this model. I'm sure any help would help out a lot of people who are gonna ask this question.
Also will this unlock the bootloader? Just curious about it affecting android pay.
Thank you!

Wanna do me a favor and grab a nandroid backup of your rom before you kill it? I actually want h2os
Aside from that, you should theoretically be able to: ("Official" guide https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...oid-efs-backup-and-more.475142/#post-15431571)
Unlock the bootloader
Flash TWRP
Flash dm-verity
Flash OOS 3.5.3 from the ROM page, I have a mirror too (http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/zip-flashable-firmware-modem-t3509015) mirror on pg 2.
and you'll be set, you can flash the original recovery if it's available on the OnePlus page as well and relock to go back to full stock just English version
PS: Since there is no stock recovery image available yet, maybe will have to run TWRP temporarily, rip the recovery off and then proceed? I dunno
Thanks for your quick reply! I was hoping more along the lines of the adb Sideload method and keep the bootloader locked for now though. If I go the root method sure I can share the nandroid backup.
PS the rom looks really similar to the oxygen rom, so far it looks like only the launcher is different. I guess this is part of the plan to merge the two.
Well you can try flashing the image straight. It's a stock image anyways so it could work.

Basically what I meant was to do the opposite of what is suggested here http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/rom-h2os-2-5-oneplus-3t-released-t3511443 but with the 3.5.3 ROM
Help needed with android pay and OOS clean install
I'm in a similar situation with a chinese bought OnePlus 3G from Lazada.sg that came with Hydrogen OS. I've managed to install TWRP but because I'm completely new, got stuck and instead managed to install OOS 3.5 (now 4.## from the official website) using adb sideload.
I do have 2 questions:
1) My internet connection drops occasionally even though my WiFi is still connected, is that an issue because I might not have installed it correctly? Would a clean flash solve it?
2) I understand android pay is disabled when you unlock bootloader but even after that, will it be possible to wipe the phone clean and do a fresh install of the lastest OOS and the phone will pretty much be like the international version, with android pay re-enabled?
I believe you can use Sultanxda's patch as another way around, but it sounds complicated as hell for a new person, so I'll continue digging around while waiting for a reply.
Thank you, and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Please Help With Process for Install Custom Rom Nougat in N920T

Good morning Friends, First of all, my greetings and respect to all
I have a note 5 Model N920T in Firmware 5.1.1 stock
I sold it Released by box, therefore the process that Find out for that was that it is put a Custom Kernel Autoroot, in this case the SkyHigh kernel and from there with a box the following release of Band ..
I am very interested in personalizing and modifying my note 5, I have always done the same from S1 of samsung and all notes, but due to FRP and DRK is always better to prevent than to regret, I am also aware that there will always be risks for safer than Look like the Procedure ..
Here is the doubt, if I wanted to Modify the Rom Stock had to YES or YES to make Root to the Device, something that I already gave it doing to Release the Band!
But I can not make a Hard Reset from the device in Settings because it sends me to the Recovery Original and in the Lower Part the Legend of" DM-Verity Failed"
I do not want to do Hard Reset from the Recovery doing Wipes, that's clear ..!
That is Normal in this case as I indicate ..?
*
1_ Should I ignore the message and give the next step that is to install TWRP ..?
2_ Should I Reinstall the Original Stock Software that is Installed on my Device using Odin and start again by doing the root myself from the Start ..?
I must clarify that the system works without problems in 5.1.1 but I need to upload Nougat and if it is with a custom Rom Much Better ..!
Please all help is very grateful ..!
Greetings from Ecuador..!

Hi
I have this new device but it's not any of the versions listed here (Nora/Rhyanna)
It's the UK version XT1920-15 sim unlocked, I'm just wandering if the steps to unlock/root are the same on this device as the other versions?

I used this guide to unlock it. I also have this phone, but mine is from latin america, and it should work for yours. :good:

Your device is not the same.
The American / latin American version has android 8.0, 2 GB ram and a 5.2 inch screen.
The UK version has android 8.1, 1gb of ram and a 5.3 inch screen.
All such tutorials that work for the US version DON'T work on the UK version and TWRP installation fails completely.
Please be mindful when advising users things "should" work, as it doesn't work and your device is completely different to mine, so should not be attempted from that link.

No my phone has 1Gb of Ram and 16gigs of storage space along with 8.1 and TWRP installed. I used that guide to unlock the bootloader the TWRP in that guide doesn't work for our phones. I managed to find the TWRP version of the phone.

fastboot oem get_unlock_data
"Now command will return a string which you need to copy the string to a notepad with a single line by deleting all spaceNotepad
(Note: Only copy the highlighted sections above. Do not copy the INFO or (bootloader) prefix)"
"To Get Bootloader Key for Moto E5 Play - Open the website Motorola’s unlock the bootloader site by Signing up or Log in in via Google Plus account"
Link:https://accounts.motorola.com/ssoau...ct/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b
Make an account, also check if your device can even be unlocked on the website.
"Once you click the "Can my Device be unlocked?" you will receive a mail with unlock key.
Now copy the unlock key and type the following command and enter.
fastboot oem unlock UNLOCK_KEY
Here UNLOCK_Key is the place where you have to paste the unlock key which you copied from the email.
That's it! Your device will unlock. hah! Have fun!"
That's how you unlock the boot loader

No root, no twrp and as far as I'm concerned, project treble ROMs/images are complete waste of time, especially for this device where half the posted steps don't work, supplied resources don't work or twrp images and twrp back ups supposedly for this device don't work
Worse still, I had to pay to redownload my firmware.

There's already three different TWRPs for PETTYL.....two work one doesn't.
I made a TWRP for pettyl and it works 100% , The reason the others do not work is because they have EXT4 filesystem set to data partitions in the fstabs they were made with. Data partition is set to f2fs and thus it cannot be read. I also made a decrypt.zip for pettyl aswell, and I do not even own this device... I have only dove into android dev less than 2 months ago
Many people are already confused about twrp so do we really need another one to confuse everyone even more?

The comment you quoted says it's a TWRP file and I've not seen the stock recovery available for PETTYL .
Just bear in mind that I'm assuming the xt1920-15 that I have and txt1920-16 you have are identical, but I obviously cannot confirm that or do I know if they work the same I'm just assuming they do.

lol to get stock recovery file all you have to do is fastboot boot TWRP or OrangeFox and make a backup of recovery. Its that simple, but what would anyone want with stock recovery anyway?
If you really want it you can get the full stock firmware here, extract it and you will have stock recovery.img along with stock boot.img and everything else....

If you had explained what's better or different about your recovery rather than making a mocking reply I would not have asked if another custom recovery was necessary......
There's currently two working TWRPs for PETTYL and another posted on here that doesn't work at all.
Every PETTYL user that's posted here has had issues with both TWRP versions or have been unable to follow the instructions on how to install either version.
Don't tell me this site and android modding isn't for me, because when the time is right I'll decide to stop, you will not make that decision or suggest I stop because you didn't like my question - which you didn't answer.
So I'll ask you calmly and politely again.
Is it really necessary to have so many different TWRPs and custom recovery for PETTYL?
What does your orange fox offer different to TWRP?
You haven't even posted a proper link......no explanation, no proceedures, no instructions. Nothing.
Explain yourself so people understand, don't mock.
Edit.
My question was not a criticism of what you have done.
I've stopped any further modifications to my own PETTYL because it's obvious a 1gb ram android go device cannot handle 9.0 pie and in the 10 years I've been modding various devices the E5 play is the most complicated piece of S*** I've I've used.
But even worse, if the user base cannot ask a simple question of people without someone like you being rude and sarcastic in reply and telling a fellow user to go away - then I've made the right decision not to work with my E5 or this thread any longer.
The user and support base for the E5 play PETTYL has suddenly hit an all time low, and doesn't need rudeness or your sarcasm to justify its existence..

Don't be a d*$k lashing out at a dev who does this work FOR free using up HIS free time to make it possible for you to make this complaint. We developers have to research to gain this knowledge. Be courteous and try to search the web to find the answers you seek and to fill in the blanks. Possibly guide others users in the right direction based on the knowledge you discover.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Listen to some nine inch nails, you might learn a thing or two about how to properly human.
He doesn't even own that device yet goes out of his way to provide support for it just for ungrateful individuals such as yourself to lash out at him for not explaining things clearly enough. If you lack the knowledge to fill in the blanks that he may have missed, that just shows that you're at risk of bricking your device from lack of knowledge on the subject. It won't hurt you to do a bit of research for yourself.
Sincerely,
The guy helping to guide that developer you lashed out at to supporting 64bit for YOUR DEVICE.

Help with moto e5 play XT1921-3 custom roms/gsi flashing issues

I was hoping that one of the developers or someone with knowledge of this device could possibly help out with an issue of flashing custom roms to my device. It's the MetroPCS variant of the Moto e5 play. The issue I'm having is when I try to flash the lineage os rom listed for this device, or any of the compatable gsi's for the device, the screen just lights up as though the backlight is on but no image during boot. It will just continue this way until I reboot the device. I was in the past able to load both lineage os 8.1 and some of the Android 9 gsi's no problem. I had an issue where I had to recover the phone back to factory and I did take an ota. The bootloader is still unlocked after the ota, but since then it seems like I've been having the booting issues with custom roms. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

N9600 flashing TWRP

Hi all. Been a long time. Hope I can get some guidance here.
As always, I've been doing my research and testing, but I haven't got it quite right yet. Here is my issue:
I'm able to flash TWRP, but upon reboot, it reverts back to the stock Android recovery. Found out that its a security feature and you need to disable it. Is this where dm-verity comes into play? Do I need to flash a zip file in TWRP after flashing it, or flash something via ODIN in order to disable this security feature? Also, I've read that after flashing TWRP (and after removing dm-verity or before?), you need to format (not wipe) the /system and/or /data partitions in order to remove the encryption.
I'm a little confused as to the proper sequence of steps in order to accomplish this. I've read some guides here on XDA, but I'm still not getting it regarding after flashing TWRP. Or am I not supposed to flash TWRP first?
I know a little bit about Linux but I am by no means an expert.
My phone is the Note 9 N9600, dual sim, 128GB. Its running stock Samsung Android 10 (OneUI 2.1), Baseband version N9600ZHU4ETG1, Build number QP1A.190711.020.N9600ZHU4ETG1.
I also remember that in some situations, it may be necessary to downgrade the installed ROM in order to properly flash. Hope thats not the case here.
I will continue to search, but any advise would be greatly appreciated. Here is the guide that I've been using as a point of reference: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ecovery-twrp-galaxy-note9-snapdragon-t3845536
Thanks
