SM-N9500 Pie Update for Bangladesh - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Is there anyone know when we can get Pie update for SM-N9500 in Bangladesh? As far I know our neighbour country India already got pie update last month. Can't understand reason behind for our location. We are still stuck with December patch for long days.

Sm n9500 didn't come Bangladesh officially. So no update. Regular variant Sm n950f has got official one ui android pie in 26 of feb. Indian got this on 15 feb. Better find the official version of 9500 ( if released) of other rezone and odin it. Good luck.

Thanks Bro for the information.
So that means there are not chance of Pie update through OTA? I got official update from 7 to 8 version last year and security patch updated till December.
Regarding Odin, actually I never did it before. New to this mode. Could you give me each guideline with necessary file links? I would be happy if u do so. Thanks you.

Watch YouTube for how to use Odin.
Odin can be downloaded from sammobile.com under firmware section look under SM-N9500.
just check sammobile.com your model didn't get PIE yet (or they are behind in uploading it to their website). That link was for a beta pie firmware. I'll wait for the official release. It'll be a lot easier for you.
You have to know how to use Odin on computer. So do lots of reading up in Odin. Use Google search and YouTube on Odin. (Use Samsung Odin for search).

You have to have a computer for both Odin and smart switch.
On computer go here for smart switch:
https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/smart-switch
Once pie is released for your phone smart switch will download it and install it for you. You'll need to connect your phone with USB cable to computer first.
Again search Google on how to use Samsung smart switch.

You should be receiving it soon. OS releases are dependent on the devices region.

I don't know, I had tried to flash a russian ROM and it failed, had to reinitialize via kies
I've flashed on my phone lots of roms with odin, the only time one failed was a Serbian ROM, but I thought it was because the download failed.
As soon as I finish downloading this I'll report if it works.

Exynos update is only available in one region, though it’s only a matter of time before the update becomes available to others either through Samsung Kies, an OTA or both methods. To check for the OTA, you can always head to Settings> System> About Device> Software Update.:thumbup::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

How to install kazakstan firmware to india s5 exynos octa????
hi i have downloaded the kazakstan firmware and i want to install it to s5 india..
my phone is not rooted
please tell me how can i install the firmware?
I am on my 3rd reinstall, first I upgraded via Odin on top of kitkat, and system was too slow, 2nd I rooted via auto root (It works btw) and apparently I deleted with Titaniun Backup something important and system refused to boot. 3rd reinstall I just rooted and deleted some bloatware and everything is working ok. This is Multilingual btw. overall not so fast no so slow, I use cm12 official nightly in another device and its just a bit slower. Used Sammobile link to get the file
Hi! i downloaded it today and it's running now! works great! i don't know how to root the device with android 5
It works perfectly. Although I tried different versions of the country. Can we root that? Is anyone try to root it?

Updates roll out in pieces. Only certain parts of the world will get them first, then the next, and so on.
We only just got the official update here in the UK, other parts of Europe have had it for a couple of weeks.
It will eventually be available to you sometime!

Seems to be only minor visible changes. No new options I can see.
One thing that did change was that I can use EE's WiFi calling, which wasn't available before on the beta. This was activated automatically by EE via a text.
Camera, WiFi, network all seem same.
Will have to wait maybe a couple of days to see how the battery life is.

It just doesn't work, I downloaded the B182 ROM last night and installed it, no problems.
On Firmware Finder there are a couple of ROMS viz. B360, B361 and another B361, I've tried to download all 3 and flash them (using dload method) and have had NO success whatsoever with any of them.
I am now reverting to checking the update page in settings every hour or so!
BTW I've tried the dialler method too and that doesn't work neither
What's the huawei updater way?
Why is this phone such a piece of crap, differing version per region for what is the same software.
Why do OEMs insist on making such an industry out of something this straight forward

I looked for the s9+ also but like ya said its not there yet my guess its not on the s9 server yet or could be a different build number but I wouldn't figure
I would look up your build and android 9 is a 2GB size firmware look for the newest by month and date under the firmware you are on now

If u want to get pie, u have to get the ARI6 Odin files which are about 4GB. This is an Oreo file with September Patch. The subsequent update files on SamsungFirmwareScience is all you would need going forward after that to upgrade to Pie and other Patches if u choose to stay on Oreo. You just need to take a leap of faith and downgrade to ARI6 using the Patched Odin by Thomas or so 3.13.3

And I could just sideload the unlocked version of the ARI6 file? Like I wouldn't need carrier specific? According to SamMobile, there's no ARI6 for the Sprint (cdma) it only goes up go ARI4

All Samsung firmware are not carrier specific. Now how your phone works with the firmware is totally unknown to me. Sprint is weird since it's a cdma network. If u were on a GSM network i would have said it's as easy as pie. But to answer your question yes, it's simple as pie to just download Odin and ari6, put your phone in download mode, load the files to Odin (if u want to retain your sprint software use HOME_CSC rather than CSC) then run the update files from there using adb sideload from the recovery menu

Downgrade to android Oreo

i just upgraded my note 9 SM-N960F from dutch 8.1.0 to German 9.0 pie via Odin . and to be honest im so disappointing with this UI and the whole update i was wondering if is it still possible to downgrade back to Oreo again ???
thanks alot
I think that it should be possible with Odin but honestly I never done it before so don't know. By the way, is the black mode feature implemented it this version of Pie in the toggles or in settings ?
Because I read someware that the initial version of this black mode or night mode or however it's called is not fully implemented like the final version should be.
toggles and settings both of them in night mode , but its not stable i have the feeling its slower my phone down some unknows issus
First try clear cache in recovery mode maybe can resolve. also try to update apps with play store or with galaxy apps because some apps must need an update to the pie version.. After that if all is worthless, maybe a factory reset will resolve Sometimes corrupted data may do this after an update specially after a big OS change like this.

If you want to go back to Thailand firmware,it's one of the two versions here (MYM) or (THL) :

Please try now it's fixed sorry about that!!
These are all the firmware’s i found for your country as there are 2 provider for you country Thailand.. (SEE PIC) i got a feeling you will be on (THL) i could be wrong man I’m not 100% sure.. i hope someone answers you as i am kind of guessing, I don’t want to mess up your NOTE-9 for you!
i heard somewhere flashing wrong firmware, can make you lose OEM LOCK!! Why not try this launch SAMFIRM.EXE and input firmware from pic or try this first launch SAMFIRM.EXE and select auto to see if it picks up the firmware you need to download Oero 8.1!!
I have never used ODIN before and wanted to know if I need to be rooted to be able to downgrade from Pie to last Oreo firmware?
Also if doing so will cause a factory reset and will I loose the data.
Thanks.

No root is needed to dowgrade!! You will lose all your data! So make a back up before you proceed!

Will that affect Knox and Secure Folder feature in anyway?
If not, then this seems to be the Samsung approved official method of flashing firmware. Is that so?
Thanks

No Knox will stay 0x0 as your flashing official firmware.. Root and Roms trip Knox and secure folder S,Health etc. So you can flash away regular firmware without any issues!

I'm hoping someone can further clarify the steps needed to downgrade to Oreo. I have the 96OU unlocked US version and I upgraded using the modded Odin method for US Snapdragon versions in the Guides section. I do not like the carrier bloat that was added to my phone and would like to revert back to 8.1. I went to SamMobile and looked up my firmware which I believe is N96OU1UEU1ARL1, my actual model is SMN96OU1ZKFX. I have downloaded Odin3 v3.13.1. I originally used Odin3 v3.13.1 3B patchedD to upgrade. Do I run Odin (non-patched) then input the BL, AP, CP and CSC files from the extracted 1ARL1 file and select Auto reboot and F.Reset Time only, not re-partition? Can I use the patched version of Odin if I want?
I have been looking for a step by step tutorial for this but just can't find one.

FWIW, N960U1 Pie Update appears to be happening...

Downloading, as I type. Should be interesting to see if it's been worth the wait...

If you registered for the beta, then yes. If you just sodeloaded and never registered, then likely not. You'll have to wait for someone to post the OTA file.
Nothing for me yet. Do I need to deregister from the beta program in order to receive the OTA?

Well, if you want to waste a step and time, ODIN to ARL1. Or you could just ODIN straight to CSB3.
Downloading now. Finally. Kind of PO'd that it doesn't even have March security patches.
