Adaptable Storage - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Hi anyone knows if adaptable storage is supported or at least works by some tricks?

From what I remember, adaptable storage back in the day was not as reliable or as fast as just keeping them separate. Meaning that the internal storage that Sammy uses was typically faster on its own than with adaptable storage.
Personally, I find that keeping all my media (videos, music, pictures) on the Micro SD card is best. Recording video and taking pictures and saving them onto my internal storage is faster. Then I'd simply transfer the shot footage onto the Micro SD card after. Saving space in my internal storage for future video recording and picture taking. Also, saving more internal storage for games and apps.

[Q] External SD as SOLE mass storage device?

Hello.
Got an external SD card today (32gb). Now when the device gets plugged into the computer it mounts it as two separate drives (internal SD and external SD). Is there anyway to either change the priority so the external SD is number 1 or prevent the internal SD from mounting or have them treated as one drive?
I ask because since getting the external SD and filling it up with music my car headunit only detects the internal SD, because it doesn't have the capability of detecting 2 storage drives.
Preventing/being able to control the internal sd from being used as a mass storage device would be the ideal outcome. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Using JPU 2.2.1.
Cheers,
Mike.
I need this as well. Otherwise my car cannot play music stored on the external_sd.
All help is appreciated.

Internal built in memory question

I have a question about the built in internal SD memory of the phone.
does anyone know what class the built in SD is? I have an 8gb class 4 inside the phone aswell. I want to know which would be better to record to so i can avoid having video hicups and such.
Not sure, but I'd bet the internal memory is fast enough for video recording. I don't think they would have put memory too slow in the phone to handle it..

A simple question about storage

I'm new to android and am confused about how the storage displays. I've a 16gb Note with a 64gb sd card but get an 'out of space' message. It displays as:
1.97gb internal storage
11.6gb usb storage
64gb sd card
I have plenty of space left but it's the internal storage that fills up. I can move apps to sd card to free space but why is the internal memory showing as so small? I don't understand why it's split between internal and usb.
Is this normal? Is there any way to increase the internal storage to use some more of the usb storage?

[Help] Need a way to modify how camera app saves recordings.

Hello all!
I've been using my Razer Phone 2, and it's a blast to have. My one issue, not limited to Razer Phone 2, is the slow write speed of the MicroSD card I'm using. I can record 4K and 1080P @ 30 fps and save directly to the MicroSD no issues, however when recording 4K and 1080P @ 60 fps, my recording stutters and lags, i.e the MicroSD I have installed cannot keep up with all the information it is receiving to write to the card.
My question(s) is/are this: Is there a way to modify the save location of camera app, and if possible, is there a way to make the camera app save recordings to the phone's storage and have whatever is being written to the phone's storage get moved to the MicroSD card at the same time? In other words, camera records, camera writes to phone internal storage, internal storage moves to MicroSD card all while recording. That way the issue of a slow MicroSD card is at least, alleviated.
I know I could just record without the MicroSD card installed, but I have it set to merge with phone storage, so my options are limited. I also want to avoid ejecting and inserting the MicroSD card as much as possible.
Something like FolderSync maybe?

It wouldn't move it while it's recording, but it can periodically move footage to the SD card so the internal storage doesn't fill up.

Moving sd card from an older phone

Ok, maybe this is a stupid question, but can I plug in an SD from Z5c or Z1c, with data (pics and music)?
Yes, it will work. When first plugging it in it might give an option to use it as internal storage or external / removable storage. Select it as removable storage as using it as internal sometimes requires a full format of the SD card.
Thank you. I used the SD card from my Z1c, no problem. My new 256gSD is coming in the next couple of days. I'll wait to transfer all pics and music from previous devices. Might need the laptop for that...
