Huawei Musicapp - Huawei Mate 20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi....
For 2 months i bought, a Mate 20 Lite.
I'm pretty satisfied. The problem is that the original musicapp seems to have a bug !?
Every time I open the app, the music always starts at the first song and never at the last heard. Is a bit annoying with over 100 songs and more.
So I contacted HUAWEI support I tried the following:
App reset - works 2-3 times and that's it
Device completely reset to factory settings - same result
Telephone manager uses - as well
HUAWEI say´s I should send my device to the support.
Has everyone the same problem?
Why I used this app is, for me is this app ok and you can neither deactivate nor uninstall it.
Android 8.1 as software
Update currently

Hello,
Why you don't install another player from play store? You've some free great options.
Cheers.

As it's a Huawei app, it's going to be full of bugs that have existed for years. This appears to be no exception. It would be best to move to another app.

P9 terrible performance

Hi guys,
My wife has an Australian Vodafone branded p9. Out of the box, it was blazing fast. However now it runs like an absolute dog, so much lag that it would make Samsung proud. It becomes completely unusable, taking 30 seconds to load Google maps or Facebook. Android auto is also horribly slow. After factory reset, it's great for a month or so, and then the same issue. I've tried clearing cache etc, and that doesn't help. It's a major pain to constantly have to factory reset. No nougat available currently unfortunately, still on marshmallow. Appreciate any help, thanks guys.
Makes no sense MM is much more perfomance/balance than nougat but I have never experienced such behaviour neither mm not nougat... Some app (Facebook or messenger) or some kind of memory corruption... Mmmm try to boot on safe mode to see... Try to install most heavy apps... Try again a factory reset but do not restore backup.. Install one by one and last call service if problem persists

You might have an app that is causing the problem. Look into that.
take screenshot to the page "memory used by apps" and share it here
"Vodafone branded"
That explain few things :]
But beside that if phone behave good after reset, its mean that its not a phone problem but apps that are used on phone. I would suggest configure properly apps and they access to phone functions and access to network. + running stock Huawei optimization app that is really good at handling trash files and removing not used apps from memory, there is handy small widget for that.

Thanks all. I've tried all of the above. I have been adding apps one by one, and can't replicate the issue..However once all apps are installed it's fine for a full week or two, so can't narrow it to a specific app. The whole phone crawls to a halt...I've tried removing Facebook and all memory hogs, but even scrolling in the launcher is painful. Seems to be something more fundamental than a rogue app from the app store..thanks

last suggestion that we can give you is trying different ROM version, maybe that specific one have some bugs related to managing memory.
I would start with stock EMUI 4.1.1 that for now is most stable for P9, then I would try latest nougat.
Long time ago I had similar problem with Galaxy s3, and it turn out that it was not only few smaller apps(sudoku game and OBD car diagnostic app) but also most bizarre bug i had on Android: SD card bug that was installing and removing it self all the time, because custom rom that I had didnt had notification of inserting SD card -_-

Troublesome apps

Over the last 3 days apps, specifically Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Samsung Internet and YouTube, won't function properly. They come up with pop-ups asking for a restart but they never do. An uninstall/reinstall from the Play store fixes the problem only to come back after some time. What's going on?

I noticed the same thing with YouTube. I thought it had to do with substratum theme. A complete reinstall fixed my issue as well.

This is for me a common Substratum Issue / Behavior, I've noticed this also under some LineageOS Devices.
As mentioned before a complete reinstall of the Substratum-Theme solves this in 99%, the other 1% is mostly solved by updating the Theme if an update is available.

I tried uninstalling my substratum theme but the problem persisted. It is mostly Facebook that's buggy now. I also forgot to mention YouTube but it's working at the moment. I'd really hate to have to hard reset coz I've gotten the phone to a point where I am really comfortable with it already.

I'm experiencing the same issue with WhatsApp. I've reinstalled the WhatsApp overlay, uninstalled the overlay and even completely reinstalled WhatsApp. It still crashes and asks me to 'restart WhatsApp'. The funny thing is that I'm still able to answer voice and video calls and I'm able to reply when a new notification pop ups. When I try to open the app it force closes itself.

HBO app crashing after login

Anyone with HBO (nordic) got their app working? I wrote them and they replied the following (translated with google):
Unfortunately, I can tell that Huawie phones do not support our app, so we can not guarantee it will work.
I have tried both resolutions, with and without the notch, both normal and forced full screen, but can't get it to work!
Hope someone can help
Hello ,
I got my subscription for HBO GO trough Telekom Romania. And for me at least it works without any special actions taken by me. Resolution set to full , the app didn't ask me for full screen view.
Hope it helps .

Maybe it's just the HBO Nordic app. Guess I'll write Huawei hoping for them to fix it. Thanks for your feedback.
You're welcome. Hope they fix it.

Got the same Phone and the same problem with the same app (Just HBO Nordic, everything else works like a charm). I've tried to reset app, uninstall/reinstall, factory reset etc, etc... Nothing works. Please keep me updated!
Try turning the Notch off and set it to standard Full Screen.. then try it...
Like the iPhone X, the Notch creates an irregular screen ratio... This happens on Netflix too...

Great suggestion, but unfortunately this didn't work for me. Tried to clear cache and data, but still no luck. Even tried reinstalling, but same result.
I am be able to use the HBO app (from Google Play market) until today... Now closed when log...
Rgs.
Try deleting Google play service cache or memory.

Possible solution
Hi. Just solved this on my Huawei P20 pro with some help from Huawei's support. You have to erase not only Google play services cache but also all its data.
Go to:
1. Settings
2. Apps and notifications
3. Apps
4. Find and choose ”Google play services"
5. Click on ”Storage”
6. Click on "manage space"
7. Click on ”clear all data"
Done!
You might have to redo this everytime you restart your phone. Huawei told me that they are working on the issue as I write this.
/Paunchygent
@paunchygent thanks. I had done this for something else, Fitbit, and noticed by mistake that it seemed that HBO was working again. Seems that the P20 have a problem with the "Google play services".
Thanks! Now I got HBO working! My weekend is saved
I had the same problem with DR TV app (the Danish equivalent to BBC) as well as the HBO Nordic app. I guess it's related to the Chromecast-feature(?). Both solved by clearing Google Play Services-data. Thanks

Apple Music app crashing on Honor 9 lite

Hello,
I'm not sure this is where I should ask, but i'll try and hope for an answer anyway.
I bought my Honor 9 Lite in late February when it was just made available here in France. I installed the apps I used on my previous phone, including Apple Music to which I have a subscription. The app worked just fine until yesterday, when it started crashing every time i tried to open it. I'll open the app, the screen will appear for like a second, then just closes. All my other apps are working just fine.
Here's what I tried so far:
- force closing the app
- delete the cache
- Reboot my phone
- Uninstall the app and reinstall it again
To no avail...Has anyone ever had that problem? I'm not well versed at all in programming or coding or so, so if you have a suggestion that doesn't involve rooting or stuff like that, that'd be great!!!
Thank you
Downgrade

Hey,
I had the same problem after I upgraded the software on my honor 9. The only thing that worked was downgrading the apple music app. So I searched an older version apk ( Apple Music 2.3.0 (240-640dpi) ), uninstalled the app and installed the older version and it works fine now.
Hope this helps.

Huawei P40 Pro (10.1.0) Install Google Services?

Hello,
I'm using Huawei P40 Pro (10.1.0 EMUI Version Latest) and have tried most Tutorials on YouTube to Install Google Services but none have worked, unfortunately. :/
I've tried ictfix and a lot others. I never get the Chinese App Working, it opens and Closes Automatically and if I skip this part I never can login to Google Account, it just keeps loading.
Any advice, please?
Many Thanks
On other threads looks like its not working

The app has expired. Just take your sim cards out, so they cant update date and switch off wifi untill you launch the G app. Just set the date back to June or before and the app works fine.
Hello Guys,
Unfortunately, that has been already mentioned in a few Videos and even taking out the SIM and putting the Date back isn't working.
At this stage, I believe there isn't any stable way, but I'd be really happy if I can get my Chrome Sync Bookmarks & Passwords working at least which is really important to me for my work.
Thanks
