Fast charger for USA sockets? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

I ordered a P30 Pro from Clove in the UK, and I’m having it shipped to the US. However, given the difference in the electrical outlet plugs, I won’t be able to use the included Fast Charger that comes with the phone. I was wondering where I can get an alternative that will still work just as well as the included one, or if there is a way to order an OEM version that has the USA-style plugs (Type-A)

Can't you use a U.S. / U.K. adapter? I guess there is always wireless charging either way.

The cheaper route would be just to get a travel adapter. Plug the UK charger into that and you can use the stock charger.

Official car charger

Having looked at a number of UK websites, only one said a USB cable came with the charger. I had been planning on buying an OEM 2 amp charger. Then I saw Clove were saying it came with a spare USB cable so the price of £24.99 didn't seem so bad any more. Got it on Friday and, yes, it did have a USB cable in the pack.
Tried it in my car runing Co-Pilot sat nav and my battery indicator showed that the charge was still going up so I am very pleasedwith it.
Only slightly disappointing thing is that the charger has only one output whereas some of the OEM ones have two, one 2 amp and one 1 amp. However, I tried it with my charger splitter and it still showed the charge was going up.
most cheap usb car charges have a screwable top; just take out the glass fuse and replace it with a 2amp/2000mA fuse which you can get at autozone, radio shack, home depot....pretty much anywhere
Really? if i just change the glass fuse i can use any usb car charge?
Is not dangerous for the electric impiant of the car?
No You can't. It is not the fuse that decides how much current the charger can give.
The fuse just protects the charger from blowing if something fails.
The regulator used in the charger sets the charging current.
true you can buy a regulator at radio shack. i've seen the 7805 for about a buck 50.
Ok, tnx guy!
Go to Best Buy or your local Apple store and pickup the Incase Ipad car charger. I've tested and works just fine with the Tab.

There are generic 2A USB cigarette lighter / car chargers on eBay for a third of the price. Worth trying too
Would you mind posting a pic of the charger?
I just bought Samsungs Car Adapter kit (ECA-P10CBECSTD) from local store, 27.90€.
It comes with cigarette lighter 12/24V usb adapter, 2 Amps 5V output, and a proprietary Samsung Tab usb cable.
A little pricey, ok, but now I have a second usb cable and a car adapter with enough output amps without fuss.

Here's the one from Clove.
Amazon UK are selling the Samsung car charger for £20.83. Pretty good deal with free delivery.
[edit]
Or there's this one also on Amazon for 99p (+£4.50 delivery!) which apparently can charge the Tab. You still need to add in the cost of the proprietary Samsung USB cable though to match the official car charger features, so not much of a bargain really...

My only concern is nowhere does it mention the cable actually comes with the charger.

That's all fine and dandy Paul but will an individual be bothered contacting officials just for the sake of a few pounds.
No, what I'm saying is why is it not listed..... and if anyone is considering purchasing one I would recommend they save themselves any issues by first contacting the seller to ascertain if the cable is indeed part of the deal.
If you check the item model number it's listed as a charger, nothing further.

OK well I've just ordered one so we'll soon see . The picture on Amazon looks almost identical to the one on Clove. Here's hoping they're the same otherwise I've bought the world's most expensive charger .
Guys, just so you know, you can get very cheap 2A chargers on ebay. The cable problem is still impossible to solve, but I'm sure Hong Kong people are working on it, so it might be best to wait a month and order a cheap replacement cable, rather then paying ridiculous amount of money for Samsung's original cable.
I ordered one of these a couple weeks ago:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...b43hTuXib7JjWUKJhg%3D&viewitem=#ht_1776wt_959
Came in today, and I swear the sync cable it came with is identical to the one my Tab came with, right down to the Samsung logo.
Car charger itself is a 5.0v/2000mA, looks well built, fused, and comes in a very nice retail package.
Considering the cable alone is $29 from my carrier, it's a hell of a deal. I basically bought a cable for $23 and got a car charger for free.
Hey croak that cellet charger doesnt work. it has the charging symbol crossed out... I guess you need to do usb2usb soldering mod to use any 5v2A charger. I saw the thread on here...

Paul,
Any luck with this item?

[Q] US charger in EU

I'm looking for EU part of charger. Can I buy it separetly? I buy my TP in US and I use adapter, but will be more comfortable without.
I'm sure you can buy it, have you checked HP's site or ebay?
You can use the charger that your TP came with in EU. It's a multi-Voltage charger. All you need is an adapter to turn the two blade US plug to a 2 prong EU plug. I travel to Greece quite a bit and I take my gears with me when I go there. I just make sure that I have the right plug adapter. You can get these for less than a buck from online stores like amazon.
My english is poor. I'm just looking for part from attachment
Yes all you would need is a plug adapter and not a separate transformer since the one included is universal. I don't see where you can get the OEM plug, but you can get a Europe to US plug converter. It just converts the plug pins, there is no transformer. I didn't even know they made these, definitely not NEMA compliant.

Again, have you checked ebay or HP's site?
Yes, I've checked.
I can't found. Now I use universal adapter, but I want to buy original part.
Don't write about universal converter.
You can not just buy that piece.but you can buy the "HP Touchpad intrnational travel kit" which has that piece, on amazon.uk
This is origional Hp Accessory.

USA Touchpad Charger.

Hi, basically after a large number of issues HP UK have arranged for a new touchpad to be shipped to me from the USA. They've said the charger it comes with will be the US one (obviously). Basically the barrel is universal, it's just the plastic adapters, does anyone know if the US charger/touchpad includes the UK converter.
I'm going to presume no, because the UK one only includes EU, just I'd have an extra charger if it did.
Thanks.
No. Charger for US TouchPad only includes US plug.
Ok thanks, I'll get a travel adapter or something.

Adaptor for official Asus charger?

The original charger came with a clip on adaptor that made it into a UK plug.
Can I buy just the adaptor bit on its own, but with a Euro plug?
Just get a cheap adapter for it. I bought my N7 in the US and I'm using it in Europe and that's what I did. Works fine. Cost like $2.
Or buy a UK/Euro travel adaptor.
I do NOT believe that you will be able to buy just the adapter bit - although it may be possible to buy the "full" set up fairly cheap if you keep your eye on eBay and Amazon.

super vooc charging ??

Just purchased the phone and it will arrive next week, bought from Amazon at €449,
I live in Ireland and we use 3 pin plugs but I will be getting the EU 2 pin plug with the phone,
Is it safe to use the vooc charger in a 3 pin adapter ?
I'm slightly worried about this technology,
I will probably buy an 18 watt UK charger to supplement it son so that the battery is not overcharged on a regular basis
As long as you use the correct voltage it should be fine using converter to 3 pin plug. Mine is EU socket with voltage range from 100-240V 50/60hz.

Cheers ,have a 3 pin adapter that says 240v on it but also says use with shavers only so might find a new one
You can use an adaptor but can't the the cheap ones ! Buy a good one ! You will be ok after that !
I live in Ireland and purchased the phone from Amazon Spain and I have the charger plugged in to an adapter and works no problem the Super Vooc charging works as intended also.
As long as the adapter has 13amp fuse and 240v you will be good to go
As above... Just use a adapter with a 13a fuse as all your looking at doing is allowing the plug to fit a UK socket... There's no voltage conversion involved or needed so don't get a actual voltage converter.

I've seen something like this(attached pic) recommended on other sites so ordered one. It should hold the EU plug securely with a little luck

Having received this black adapter on eBay I can confirm the realms EU plug will not fit into the back of it,you are better getting a UK travel adapter from your local pound shop or hardware store, the ones that plug in from the top,I got one and it works no bother.
Other observations Ive made are that my OnePlus 6T charger works with the phone and the device seems to be charging around 30w and displays vooc in the animation on the device,
