some general issues and complaints - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

i guys, I`d like to ask if any of you had issues with the spotify app on the s10...precisely my downloads keep getting deleted...talked with spotify, told me registration got corrupted....but this happened only on the s10..and it is a regular thing....to solve it had to hard reset, delete registration on spotify site, reinstall and redownload all...thought this would solve it, and it did...for a few weeks...but after a week of not restarting the s10, when i did, it deleted the spotify downloads...again.....and also, although it did work, no spotify player no longer goes to landscape....and in landscape i cant use the fb messenger bubles...you can? and I also feel like the whole system is somewhat unstable regarding app functionality...is it just me? I mean Oneui seems ok, and apps seem to work ok, but they make the weirdest crashes, like they`re crashing with the system....would like some points of view, experiences...

I don't use spotify and messenger in landscape but i haven't experienced any app crash. It's really stable here.

[Q] Startup message

Hi,
I have a strange message when I reboot my SGS.
(GalaxyS) Please wait installing native libraries
It takes no more than 2 seconds and doesn't seem to make things bad, but I would like to know where this message comes from...
I got firmware JM9 without lagfix and I applied battery and lookscreen modifications.
i've never seen that message on my phone before
JH2
maybe something specific to JM9 ?
or from some App you installed?
I suspect some App...
Lookout, PowerAmp, Zedge or Multicon cause these are the lastest App I installed.
I need to uninstall and check what happens.
I'm thinking that it might be Power amp. It is only of last applications I installed as well. The message keeps popping up on my phone randomly tho and is really starting to get annoying...
It's PowerAMP.
I suspect it to be responsible of the undesired reboot of my SGS yesterday.
Now PowerAMP is no more usable (demo expired) so I uninstall it and problems are gone
It is indeed PowerAmp, I think its installing its own codecs, But for some reason it does not work right after its done that. It screwed up my internal music player too. Also PowerAmp just crashes when I try to forward a song all the time.

[Q] "Unfortunately, Google Play Music has stopped."

After updating to the newest stock firmware (xxx.10), and after updating to the new Google Play Music (Post-Google I/O), Google Play Music will only open for a few seconds before crashing and presenting me with the message I posted in the title. This message appears several more times after crashing.
Here's what I've done so far in an attempt to fix it (not necessarily in this order):
Delete Cache.
Delete Defaults.
Force Stop.
Uninstall and pre-installed app.
Restart (multiple times).
Power off and on (multiple times).
This phone has always been stock, and I'm not using any skins. I've downloaded very few apps, which have all been run of the mill. I did download Google Wallet, but I would hope that's not the conflict. It worked perfectly before the firmware update, and only the updated Play Music crashes.
Is anyone having a similar issue? Up til now I've only used HTC 's player, but I want to try the free month of music streaming. Any advice is appreciated, and thanks in advance!
It's working fine for me on the HTC update and google music update. I do get an occasional error you reported but it's rare. I might be completely taking a shot in the dark but try activating your trial on the web browser first. If that doesn't help, try removing and adding your Google account again to your phone. I vaguely remember having a problem activating the trial on my phone. But I didn't put much effort into it.

I have this issue when I am in less than ideal network conditions.. Or when switching from 4G to 3G sometimes. At home on Wifi is flawless.

I had the issue. I didn't feel like dealing with it so I uninstalled the update. Not really wanting to pay $10 a month anyways. You can look through the reviews to, there are several people having the same issues.
I too have this issue. I thought I had it solved because I hadn't had the error for a couple of hours after resetting some things, but now it's happening again and I haven't installed or done a thing.
It's a shame. The sound quality is far superior than other streaming apps I've used.

[Q] Contact Storage using HIGH CPU

Hey guys,
I did a through scan over the internet, and seems like I'm the only one with this issue, and Please guys help me to find a solution. You are the only guys i can really count on, and that is the reason why i post all my problems here.
Few days back i realized my phone keeps heating - while charging, standby, and the battery keeps draining no matter whether i charge it or not.
So i use this DU Battery saver and it showed "Android Core Apps" using the most Battery, so when i click it, it pops up the contact storage app which is running and when i force stop it, the phone seems to be fine for a few minutes. I also realized that my contact list is lagging recently with this issue.
So today i decided to clear data, and cache of contact storage, and then restore my contacts through a .VCF file which i did, but even though contacts were imported, no single contact was shown on phone. So i decided to factory reset my phone after backing up all data and therefore i reset my phone WITHOUT CLEARING THE INTERNAL STORAGE and it seem to fix the issue. But i restored all my contacts and apps and now again. the issue is back. It heats the phone and i have to stop the contact storage app and everytime i use the phone or go on my contacts, the phone starts to heat and kill the battery.
So guys... what should i do??
My phone is a Sony Xperia Z1 running android 4.4 and is not rooted.

It seems, that you have installed a app which cause the heating and the high CPU use.
Delete every unimportant App.
You can post a list of your installed Apps and maybe we find the cause together.

Many of your apps are unnecessary, uninstall some stuff you don't need. First bracket is whether its harmful or not. Second bracket is suggestion to remove. If your phone is still slow after removing mobiegenie and some apps, try following the second bracket.

Issues Installing Facebook App

Currently running unofficial CM13, but this issue has occurred on CM12.1 as well.
Every time I try to download the app, the actual download completes but the notification "Installing Facebook" just sits there forever. When I go back into the Play Store, the notification goes away, but the app isn't installed. It also causes any other downloads to lock up until a couple minutes have passed.
On CM12.1, it would download and install, but the installation process would take ~5 minutes.
I'm figuring it's probably an issue with the app itself, but I was just curious to see if anyone else is having this problem.
I face this problem quite often. Even updating the app is a hard task for me now. It either would take ages or doesn't install at all.
I don't know what could be the reason behind it but try keeping the play store window just as it is after touching the install button. It works for me at times. While the window is changed, it never installs.
Have the same. Installed FB lite.
same problem i have rooted stock rom. i thought that problem is due to download manager, my thread is also there at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/help/change-stock-download-manager-t3252514
have the same problem, doesn't have an answer, but for me it became worse with CM13. on CM12(.1) it was just as you described, but now it slows down the whole phone, rendering it useless. I suspect it runs out ot memory.
Please post here, if someone has a solution

I think it's the app itself. Facebook probably hasn't optimized it for 6.0 yet.

It's not available in my country. Go USA, haha. Not really though.
Had the same problem. Downloaded the APK from APKMANIA and installed. It's working fine now.
Hope it helps!
I've had a similar problem, the issue was that I installed FB Messenger app before the Facebook app itself. Uninstalling both and then installing Facebook first, Messenger second fixed it for me.

They both seem to take a while to install. Probably because Facebook installs 300+ MB worth of data.

Hello! I'm new here and I'm seeking help with my phone.

Whenever I play videos in my gallery and even just opening YouTube and TikTok apps, they all turn black and white. It goes back to normal when I stop playing the videos or when I exit the said apps. My other apps with videos on them are working fine... I tried checking the settings but all were the same, nothing changed. I tried searching online but all videos shown don't have the same problem as mine. I'm trying to describe them because I can't post a video..
Welcome to XDA
Which phone and Android version?
One of your 3rd party apps probably screwed up hidden user settings. Simply unistalling the app may not fix it. If you can find the app and the setting in that app that did this, that will fix it. It could be an app you already uninstalled, if so reinstall it and correct. Think hard as to when it started and what happened that might have caused it.
Possibly could be malware or the user data partition has been corrupted. Factory reset and be careful what you install.
Ditch Tiktok, it's malware. If you insist on using it login using your browser instead. Crapware can and does cause big headaches...
