Lock screen - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Why do WhatsApp notifications not shown on the the lock screen? Normal texts do but WhatsApp doesn't. It's annoying with the no led as well...

I've just read this is fixed in a minor update but I haven't had the update yet. Has anybody else had the new update?

I updated to 9.1.0.124 and the notification works correctly, though I miss settings for it. Esssentially it's working, I can see the icons on the AoD.

How did you update? Mine says no update available....

Update via HiSuite
Use HiSuite on Windows.
Enable HDB in Settings and don't forget to turn on "Transfer files" on your phone (using USB). In HiSuite you can find an Update button. ("Rendszerfrissítés" on my screen)

Doesn't this wipe your device though?

Using HiSuite to update does not wipe your phone.

Ok cool,
Thought I read in another thread that Hisuite wiped when updated which is why I didn't try it with mine yet.

[Q] How to disable OTA on Sony Xperia Z3 Compact?

My phone is on the latest firmware with 5.0.2. I successfully rooted my phone after a couple of sleepless nights and tons of stress when the phone suffered a boot loop. I do not want to undergo that process anytime shortly, though fun it was. (Damn! I keep speaking like Yoda) Sony keeps pushing updates every ten days and it creates trouble all over again. I searched before I posted this and in kitkat there was an option under personalisation to disable OTA. However that no longer is present. Can the OTA be disabled? Can anyone tell me how to do it?
There is a app called update center as i remember correct. In the app there u can turn off ota notification. Or flash a debloated rom, most of them has no ota app
Hey basti thanks for the reply but I am not able to find any such app. Tried whatsnew app and disabled updates but I guess that is only for apps that comes like xperia lounge. Further clarity would be nice.

When the update notification appears at the top of your phone, pull down to reveal the notification menu. Long press and hold on the update message and an option to view "app info" will pop up. Click on that option and it will take you to the update notification screen where you will see a check box that you will have to clear to prevent notifications from appearing for OTA updates.

Great idea puffdaddy but the only problem is that I am looking for a way to prevent it from downloading itself. In my phone, on the last occasion, the update was already downloaded and then it informed me that it was ready to be installed. I am ideally looking for a way to prevent the download itself

That's strange. I never had that problem. Check your settings within the update app to make sure it's not set to auto download updates

Tried this?
Go to settings, battery and go to "Close apps after screen lock".
Whatsapp must be off so the switch must be greyed out.

And also, do you receive WA notifications on locked screen - if you receive, then it's ok

not always, sometimes i open whatsapp and the messages rush in
For me worked on my EVA-AL10 that you create a widget from whatsapp (the first one with the unread messages) and put it on your homescreen. Now WhatsApp is forced to run in Background and you receive the push notifications.

What other apps do you have ? I think it works with every app that has widgets. I suggest that you make a page with all the widget for the apps.
For me the problem sovled after i debranded my EVA-AL10 to L-09 and flashed BluWei. So I think the problem only existed with the Chinese Rom.
Other methods:
Try Settings>Apps>Settings>Special Access>Ignore Battery Optimization. On the dropdown select all apps and search Whatsapp and click on it. Then select allow. Now it should run in the background.
The last thing that i remember doing is turning Whatsapp (or any other app) in a system app. You need root and i used the app "/system/app mover":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover
Just click on the app you want to convert and press ok. Then reboot your phone. The only problem i had was that the /system partition wasn't very big so i could only convert like one or two apps (this changes with different phone/system versions)
If this doesn't work I would recommend installing an other rom like Magic Rainbow, Moonlight, Bluwei (all emui based) if its a big problem for you

I haven't seen this one come across - I'm on T-Mobile with an S10+. I did do the original update which was approx 462mb (it was 2am when I did it, so can't be sure), but nothing since then.
I am having the same issue. The message is being generated from TADownloader. All I get is the download, then couldn’t update try again

Seems a possible solution is to disable the Secure Folder. Figured this out myself after a phone call to Samsung where they told me they couldn't support the third party TADownloader which is made and installed by Samsung.
I Got this in the morning. Installed and updated. No details as to what it was fixing though.
Fingerprint
It's firmware update for the fingerprint reader
I also received and updated successfully
I did the update this morning successfully. I read it was available since yesterday on other countries and i was worried I wouldn't be able to do it because my phone is rooted now, but it was an "application" update not firmware update.
The fingerprint scanner is actually FAST now. Especially if you turn off the animation, it feels like S9 fast. It only misses if i don't place my finger fully on the scanner (duh), so there is some getting used to position your finger, but I am glad to see they actually fixed it this time.

Didn't work for me. I've had secure folder disabled from day 1. I went back and enabled all the knox crap plus the secure folder just in case the update relied on something from them. After enabling it installed. Not sure which specific service/app needed to be enabled.

Can't apply this manually
Seems like it's a Galaxy App Store update. It also can't be triggered manually. Did any T-Mobile USA customers get it on their device?
Can someone send an apk of it. It is the biometrics app
Didn't receive the update yet... Exynos
Nothing I seen to do is allowing it to update. I turned off secure folder, ensured all apps were enabled, and even disabled Adhell3.
To those who successfully applied the update, are you still on the ASBA software update or did you get the later one already? I'm still on ASBA so maybe that's causing the problem?

Question Official OTA - 12.5.3 CN Version - Wallpaper Issue

Hi,
Still running the official CN version.
Just received the official MIUI 12.5.3 OTA update. Installed flawlessly.
When scanning through settings, I tried to change my wallpaper to either my own picture, or to a pre-installed one and unfortunately it doesn't work.
In the preview frame, it shows the picture I have selected on the Home Screen, but always shows a black screen for the Lock Screen.
When exiting the settings page, I just have a black screen on the Home Screen as well as on the Lock Screen.
I only managed to get a picture on both of them, if I select a Live Wallpaper. Then I have it on both screens. It also works with a third party Wallpaper Changer, where I select my own pictures, but again, I cannot select a fixed Lockscreen picture which after selection turns into a black screen only.
In addition, the setting (on the same page) for changing the Unlock Animation is completely missing.
I tried already all kind of things, rebooting several times, without success.
I guess it is a bug, but wanted to ask if someone has encountered a similar issue on the original China ROM?
Does the google play store services work on your device after update? I've got mine downloaded, but delayed the update until this is clear is it safe to update.

Same happened to me. I'm in the Uk.
Maybe they stopped the rollout.
Another issue I found is that when using the gesture mode to open up the Recent Files, it still shows the old style, where to terminate an app is done by swiping left or right, not as shown in some videos, where you need to swipe up.
It also doesn't show how much Ram is used/free.

Question OOS 12 Notification Problems

Hello Guys,
I have Problems with my Notification. I don't get Notification for 80% of the Apps. If I go into the App, the Notifications appear. After I reboot my Phone, all Apps spam all recent Notifications and it works for 1-2 Days. After that I have to reboot my Phone again, otherwise I don't get the notifications anymore till I open the App.
I recognized that If I get Notifications I see them normally in the Lock screen. If I unlock the phone but don't open any App I don't see any Notification on the Lockscreen anymore. I have to unlock my phone and swipe down to see all the Notifications. Is this Android 12 related or a real issue?
Thanks for feedback!
Your the first one who complains about it and i even have auto launch off from every app background activity off and recent task lock removed and still i can't get rid of those notifications but at them moment for notifications on your lockscreen you can now set it up per app at app info NOTIFICATIONS maybe you didn't see that

Yes, sadly been thinking about converting to NA firmware to see if it makes any difference in some of the bugs I've been seeing with OP's TMO firmware. Also the faster updates/no TMO bloatware are a plus.

No, I'm bootloader locked which is why I want to convert (to be able to unlock bootloader without unlock.bin) so I can root etc.
