P30 Pro - Factory-mounted protection film lens? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Watching one of the millions youtube videos regarding P30 Pro, I noticed - during a close-up to the rear lenses - something similar to a protective lens film (see attached captured frame)
I tried, with my ultra-short nails.... - to remove it without success.
I contacted by chat my local Huawei support team and - after the first answer that, yes, is a factory-mounted and must be removed - he changed the answer that "this is a coating non-reflective film and cannot be removed by user".
Considering that I haven't pull-off any film from rear lens during my unboxing, I am still not convinced about the Huawei answer.
Please note that the film lens is visible with a magnifier lens.
Someone of you has more informations about this "issue"...?

No protective film on my P30PRO. Neither on the display.

sry only have amazon.de link but i guess that is what you are looking for? .. have it, fitĀ“s and works perfectly for what it is :good:

I have observed the same camera protector
Yes, I have observed the same plastic on my p30 pro camera but it is very thin and seems in solid contact with camera glass.. I'm not taking risk to remove it but there are a lot of minor scratches on my phone camera which seems that it's a plastic and needs to be removed..but it is not mentioned anywhere on Google. I have only seen this one post and I agree with you!

What is the best camera lens protector?

What is the best protector for the main camera lenses?
We need something non degrading the images, hard and non interfering with the flashlight.
Some tempered glass come with protection for camera lenses
However, if you don't have any, just a simple piece of clear tape does the job

I used the alloy protector for mi8 camera, u can found it on aliexpress https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/bNfZgpNQ
I have bought this glass lens protector, it is like an adhesive you put on the lens. I thought it was glass. But it's nice because you don't notice it and protects against scratches on the lens. Recommended.

Camera lens durability/scratch proof?

Hello everyone I bought this phone for the camera.
I have read a few different reports where people say the camera lens scratches really easily but other reports are saying it has scratch proof glass, which is it?
I want to keep the lens protected if easily scratched but these lens covers/protectors look like they will ruin the quality of photo.
Any answers or advice here please?
Hi, the lens is protected by tempered glass, keys and coins, even razor blade cannot scratch it.
And for a lens cover, I saw some on Amazon.
Recently, somebody here reported breaking the cover and had to buy a new one. The lens are probably more sturdy though.

I have my phone in a good protective case and I have a tempered glass screen protector.
My concern is the camera lens on the rear scratching so really I don't know if I should continue with a lens protector and lose some image quality or leave it off as the lens is pretty durable. I cannot get any factual answer either way.
I am not sure about posting a direct link to Amazon, but currently utilizing the kit available for $7.89 (by UPONEW) and do not notice a change in image quality.

I do have a similar product on my lens, some images look great but sometimes they look a little off in areas and cannot work out if it is this lens protector. If I know the lens has good scratch proofing I would remove it!
I scratched my rear camera lens within weeks of owning. Only a tiny scratch even though I have a decent case and have tried my best to look after it. Pictures are unaffected. You can get a new lens for very cheap online so I'll probably do that if it gets worse.

I worry about the lens protector I have on and picture quality, certain areas of my pictures always look a little blurred or lower quality. Is this a focus thing on camera settings or the screen protector do you think?
The only thing I can suggest is if you still have the second lens protector ( the link says 2 pack...) us to take a bunch of photos In various lighting, then remove the protector and take the same photos again so you can compare. You can always put the spare protector back on afterwards.

It will not affect the camera quality, but now your camera is more vulnerable to scratches then before, so be careful now
Sent from my Redmi K20 Pro using XDA Labs
I am very careful now i order some protector glass for lens
I ask this question bexause i saw that People sah this coating is anti-reflection coating some other say its uv protection coating and some other just a extra protection for camera lens
Quite being a cheapskate, buy a proper TG for your camera lens. The adhesive film of the TG usually hides the scratch(es) if they're not very deep.
Yes i already order protector! So the removal of this coating will not affect my photo's color and quality correct?

Hard to say to what degree it must have got removed..
If the uv & glare coatings are fully gone then likely you'll see minor flares & weird bright patches in pics..

Camera not focusing after cracked glass lens

So I managed to cracked the glass cover over the lens but replaced it with a new aftermarket glass cover. The camera still functions but it doesn't focus on anything up close. Any idea what's going on with it and any suggestions on how to fix it?
I guess I would search youtube for videos where that glass was replaced and see if they have any comments...

Question euti/screen protector for cameras

As we know ultra has big camera island any idea to protect them? I saw some special etui but its looks bad imo. Maybe some tempered glass? Is tempered glass not disturb the operation of the cameras? I don't feel confident to put my phone down, I'm always afraid that I will scratch something
I think if you put extra layer of glass on top of cameras you will get extra light reflection in some situation.
protect it. I got my cover on ebay.
A plastic film/glas protector will alter the light hitting the sensors for sure and make it worse
Also, Mi11 Ultra have Laser autofocus, not sure how that will be working with extra glass or film on top of it.
EDIT: seams like there is no laser autofocus...there is DualPixel Autofocus: https://petapixel.com/2021/02/23/samsung-unveils-new-50mp-sensor-with-next-gen-dual-pixel-autofocus/
