You can get Chinese one and unlock bootloader to install global MIUI, a waiting time might be there (like 15days), but heard Chinese mi accounts might not need to wait.
As for price, I got mine from Amazon.it for €400, even tho it says €450 but that includes taxes which my country doesn't have, so only paid 400.

Should I buy the China Rom?

It is already being sold on the online shop in my country at about $40 cheaper than oneplus 6. Should I buy it? I heard that China Rom versions cannot be unlocked any more. Is there a way to convert the China Rom to global rom anytime in the future?
Only 40$ cheaper? You just need to wait about 2 weeks, than you will get it much cheaper (in China about 360€ 64GB, 400€ for 128GB and 440€ for 256GB). Even with +50€ it must be about 100€ cheaper.
Xiaomi is not Huawei, so you can unlock bootloader. After the global version is online, you can flash it on chinese version and get also full OTA support.
The next sale starts in 5 days, with about 1 Mio. devices.

Don't buy it, save yourself the headaches. Just wait for it to be officially released in your country.
i saw unboxings on youtube with playstore already installed, so this cant be hard..?
You can install Google on China ROM in 1 min. but you got a lot of China stuff, bloatware and notificarion problems.
I'm sure, you will see global edition in about 2 weeks.

Don't know about other sellers but where I bought mine, TradingShenzhen, it already ships with Play Store.
Otherwise there is no issue in flashing global if needed.
is there a hardware difference like the bands supported?
I'm in China the mi8 no google service
I went to see mi8 in the xiaomi home
the hands Feel is not very good, and it is still MIUI9 system, feel strange. but mi 8SE is relatively small, feel good, but still no google service。 if any want to buy , Buying in China is easy。4+64G CH$2699 about $422.

UK Global Rom

Hey.
I have used Xiaomi.eu the whole time I have this phone, however recently its just getting too buggy and I want to just put what should be on there..
So I was wondering where I can find the global default rom? I cant find this anywhere.. but maybe I am misunderstanding something.
Kinda hoping, with the Mi 8 actually being sold by carriers in the UK, maybe google pay will work on global rom as it no longer works on .eu sadly.
Any suggestions would be great.. kinda at the point of thinking of just selling the phone due to the constant issues..
Anyone want Mi 8 128GB? haha.
Standard Global is for UK. I'm on the 3 network in the UK, locked my bootloader again after unlocking it to flash the global, as opposed to the '3' global. Google pay works fine.
Hope this helps..

You can after unlocking the bootloader. Also keep in mind the Chinese version don't work on certain LTE bands in some parts of the world. I bought a Chinese one and the LTE didn't work on O2 network in UK. I had to return it and get the global Mi 9, hope this helps.

The shops selling the Chinese one should have the global one as well, also check online and ebay most of the sellers selling this phone on ebay are from China, they can send you a piece on a quick delivery, keep in mind global only comes with 6gb ram and has a global rom, in order to check go to settings..... about phone and look at MIUI version it should say global, mine is "global 10.2.1 stable", hope this helps

9T pro 8/256 varient

In Europe we know there is only the 64 and 128 versions of this phone but there is also a Hong Kong version available with 8/256 which to me seems like a better option if you can get it. And also in Hong Kong this varient comes with a UK plug,
Currently only one site I know of seems to be selling this varient, eglobal:
https://www.eglobalcentral.eu/xiaomi-mi-9t-pro-8gb-256gb-dual-sim-redmi-k20-pro-carbon-black-1.html
My question to anyone is ,Have they bought this one ?
Or do they know of anywhere where you could buy it factory sealed as it seams like a pretty sweet deal which would be worth getting.
Although Eglobal have a Fairly respectable reputation,I. Not sure if what they are listing is just a k20 pro

That's interesting. The global MIUI site does list the Mi 9T Pro with upto 8/256 GB, so in markets outside of Europe, and maybe Europe later, this is a genuine version. I'm not aware that it's been officially released yet outside of Europe, but maybe it will be in the next few days. Everything eGlobal say certainly points to it be genuine.

Only other place I've seen it is on YouTube where this guy unboxes it, mentions he got it in Hong Kong:
Would be cool if they released it in the EU but I don't think they will

Yes but the 9T pro is different, most notably it has base 20 for LTE while the k20 does not
You can check it here:

Pity, not available in Europe apart from possibly on eglobal.
Problem with eglobal is they have essentially copied the description and specs from their k20 pro listing and they include k20 pro in the title of the listing in brackets which could mean it is in fact a k20 pro with a global rom, although they do include band 20 in specs, but it is very hard to confidently buy from them. Their support is no good either , otherwise I would ask,but All they do is give out generic replies
Spotted it on Wanda mobile, though a bit more on the expensive side.

Any news on this matter? I'm also looking for this variant: 8/256 with B20 support.

Seems only eglobal and Wanda mobile that I've seen Haven't even seen it on Ali Express or any of them sites. Dont really trust the two mentioned sites to buy so for now I am unsure,
Wanda mobile would be reliable but don't like the price especially shipping to Ireland for me but if you in UK , shipping free with them

considering i paid 327 EUR for the 6/64 version. 435 for 8/256 is not aa bad price at all.

I know about the whole band 20, I get better signal and mobile data speeds on my EE Sim than I ever did on my s8+, then again different networks use different bands so my experience won't be the same with everyone else

Don't think you will ever get the 8/256 model in Europe, these sites are importing from Hong Kong
Just got mine from eBay a couple of days back... it is the Global version indeed. 490E + 8E EU shipping.
Ordered mine today from wonda mobile, £435 delivered to the UK.

Chinese version or Global version?

Hello, I'm thinking of buying X2 Pro but I'm a bit confused about this two versions, should I buy the Chinese version (as it's cheaper) or the global version?
Can I flash global or EU ROM on the Chinese phone and relock bootloader?
Even though its cheeper i wouldnt buy the chineese modell.
If you buy from amazon i think its easier if you have a problem.
You get widevine L1 on the global version and L3 on chinese, dont think you get the certification if you just change the rom, think its hardware?
(Might have wrong)
Might be some difference regarding Network band?
Does the chinese have band 20 (for example)?
Dont know about your financial status but if the differens is 50-80 dollars i dont think its worth the hassle..

If your outside China go for the global EU version,it has led bloat and gives you the ability to change default launcher and uninstall bloat apps.
