Huawei p20 pro GMAIL Not Auto Sync - Gmail absent in Notifications list of apps. - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

I have been using Huawei p20 pro for almost a year with no problems in gmail.
After recent updates on to EMUI 9.0.0.261 automatic gmail notifications stopped. No blinking led green light, no M symbol at status bar etc.
Can access gmail only manually by swiping the screen.
All required setting are correct. No isssues there.
After comparing the lists of app in the Settings/Notifications, I noticed that Gmail app is ABSENT.
The Gmail app is listed in the Settings/Apps list.
Went to Huawei Store and checked a display model p20 Pro, Settings/Permissions list: Gmail is PRESENT.
It appears that the loss of auto notification seems to be related to the absense of the Gmail app in the Settings/Notifications list.
Question: How can I put Gmail app back into the Settings/Notifications list.
Thank you.
Sam

Facebook notifications

Are facebook notifications working for everyone? i recently got my lumia 625 and before i was using android. I always use facebook messenger to chat with people, but it's really hard to do that now since i dont get any notifications and i have to turn on the facebook app everytime to see if i go a message and it's really annoying.
facebook app dont give notification
to get notification add facebook account in account settings and enable facebook messaging (also can enable in settings - application tab - messages)... after that in "Me" just turn available status...
also you can try apps like IM+ (IM+ Pro) or Messenger HD

[Q]Mail Sync

Hi,
I'm using Outlook (Hotmail) app on my P7.
Everything works fine, but the only thing that does not work is downloading mail in realtime.
Sometimes it works but most or the times it doesnt work.
I went by all the settings but I cant find the problem.
Can someone please help?
Outlook.com App
Hi,
Same problem here, I've tried to :
- Enable notifiactions in the app settings and choose the push sync option,
- Enable notification for Outlook.com in the Huawei notification manager (put on Allow)
- Protect Outlook.com in the Huawei "Protected apps"
But incoming emails are not pushed, I have a randowm delayed distribution
Now my outlook/hotmail accounts are set on mail native app and push is OK.
No problem with my other mobile phones (i9505, Mi2s, XT910...)

email app automatically opens latest email

Hi,
After the latest update, suddenly when I open my email app linked via outlook, (not the Gmail one) it will show the latest unread email instead of a list of emails.
I can't find any setting in the app to turn this off and am wondering if any one of you have the same occurrence? So I know if it's just p9 plus or other reasons

Content hidden in notifications for new emails although hide content setting is off

I'm using corporate Office 365 Exchange email account in Samsung email app. It works fine but in notifications I get "Content hidden" instead of first few lines of the email mesaage. I searched all over the net for the soultion but nothing workes for me. I disabled "Hide content" in notifications settings, removed MS Outtlok app (this solved the problem for some people but not for me), turned of edge lighting (this also solved the problem for some people but not for me), checked Samsung mail app settings and Android notifications settings. It worked just find with my previous phone Huawei P9 and Huawei's stock email app so I guess it's not some kind of corporate security policy. Any ideas and help will be appreceated.

Chinese Oppo Gmail and Outlook not autorefreshing/pushing

Hi - this is technically for the Find X5 Pro, but posting here due to the bigger community.
I recently got the Chinese version Find X5 Pro, for some reason Gmail and Outlook don't automatically push: the only way to refresh these inboxes is to open the App.
I've removed battery optimisation for them, all notifcations are enabled, so am confused. All other apps seem to work fine
Sadly, I have the same problem on my X3 pro with coloros 12, albeit only with Gmail. Gmail does not update unless I manually open the app. Outlook does work fine.
This has happend before in the past, and then it started working again on its own. So my guess is that it's something specific to Gmail, perhaps it is not recognized as an e-mail app?
I also have this on occasion on my find x3 Pro with coloros 12. It is rare but annoying because you don't know it's happening until you open Gmail.
I suspect it's when the phone has gone below 20% battery and it puts Gmail into a kind of sleep mode that it never wakes out of. When I reboot it seems to fix it.
I fixed this problem for both gmail and outlook on my Chinese version of the Find X3 Pro. It's all about permissions. First check under Apps, then app management. Find Outlook and Gmail and give them every "allow" permission you can. Then, under Auto Launch scroll down and select Outlook or Gmail. You can only have 5 auto launches that aren't part of the Color OS system, so you might have to turn off a couple. Then, under Default apps choose your email. Start with those. It is a royal pain but it's possible to get it going and push syncing. One more thing: WIth the email app open, swipe up from bottom to see all open apps. In the dotted menu at top for the email client, hit Manage, then "Lock" it so it won't shut down. Again, you are limited to a handful that you can do this for.
