update country - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hey
Who had get the newest .153 version by OTA.
Here in Sweden we are stuck at .124
I'd contact support and suggest that it's better to send out updates worldwide.
They told as usually it's on the way but not when.

153 is avaliable only in China for Ota update. You should expect 140 first. Me thinks

Yesterday my P30 Pro arrived.
After setting it up, i searched for new firmware. My device comes with .124 and has installed .140 (about 330MB).
I´m in Germany, and my carrier is Deutsche Telekom.

YAYYYYYY, lets buy a expensive phone AND lets pay to get updates even faster. Sure! Go waste your money. Waste your money for something you get normal too.
For me FunkyHUawei is a FunkyB*tch
oh and when you brick your phone with there frickeling firmware and update processes you got a really expensive paperweight.

So are most of China on the latest version and the rest of us are 2 versions behind? I don't understand why we would have to pay to update via the funkyhuawei surely it should just be free? I've always used Samsung's but don't recall updates bring rolled out this oddly lol why aren't the updates so just released to everyone at the same time?
I don't understand how some places are 2 versions ahead and that's fair? Surely they are being given a better service and better looked after.

in Finland also .124

Exactly.

I'm in Canada, Carrier is Telus and I'm on .138, got the Phone 5 days ago not sure at what firmware it was on at, but got an update as soon as I turned it on, it is now at 138.

I'm in the French Caribbean island of Saint-Martin, and I had the update a few days ago, I'm talking about .140
With Huawei phones it is very dependent on the Sim you have in the phone. Even when the phone is unlocked.
My operator is a local Orange knockoff, but it must be loosely connected to the real deal in France, and thus I had the update.

In Thailand
Some got 153 about week
Some still stuck at 109
Btw I'm on 140
Wtf Huawei ?

Huawei random update.
Brand is suck

There is an app called update finder. I have downloaded and opened it on my p30 pro and it does indeed offer future firmware that we have no received yet.
It doesn't appear to be OTA though and I am far from an expert. I have included the link to the app. Hopefully someone here can make some use of it. ?

You can always go to sammobile site to check for latest firmware. As far as I know you can flash different region as long as it is for your model such as n920i. Also u have to understand just because your phone doesn't have any update yet that would mean it is bad. I think it depend on the carrier to release them. As rule of the thumb u don't fix something unless there is an issue.
I believe android 6 update is just around the corner so I think that is why some carriers maybe waiting to release all at once. But I doubt it will come this month because of the holidays coming soon. I would expect them to be released early January.

Any Huawei P9 users have this version EVA - L09GBRC5558160?

I'm waiting on Nougat as are all of you, but was wondering how many of you Huawei P9 users have this system. I confirmed with both Huawei and my service provider that this is the latest version. This brings me to my question, does any of you know if there will be a delay in the update for those with a Three branded phone?
Same model as me. I have a strong feeling we will get screwed and not get an update at all. I have offered money too.

Clt-l09(c706)

Could someone please tell me which region this phone version CLT-L09(C706) is localised? I bought my p20 pro from one of the local store here in New Zealand on the weekend and it came with emui build 8.1.0.101 March security patch.

I have same device in NZ. Still on firmware 101 version. Have you received any OTA updates yet?
I bought mine from NZ too. Still on 101 but Firmware Finder shows that 120 is going to come soon(er than later hopefully).
No joy guys, looks like we'll be stuck on this firmware for long time The latest firmware on FF is not approved for our device C706. I also contacted FunkyHuawei and they were non-committal on supporting C706. I'm contemplating to debrand to C636 or European rom which seems to get a faster update.

If you do, do you mind telling us how it goes? I was thinking about it too but I'm not sure if things might break.
I've also got a C706 - just received the 120 update ota in New Zealand. Much quicker than I feared it might be ?
Anyone got any further updates on c706?
In NZ here with c706. Still on 130 version while Soo many further updates. Huawei has always been slow in NZ for updates but from what I can under c706 is for NZ and Australian carriers and it's not tied to specific carrier this time

Same boat as you mate, still stuck on 130 and even on a quick check using FF it is still showing 130 as latest update on C706. Other than what seems to be a poor battery life on 130 I don't have any issue with the phone.

Official Android 9 update date

So Huawei have (finally) released a date for the official EMUI 9 update for the mate 10/10 Pro and P20/P20 Pro. They state the update will begin on the 18th of December in Singapore. Sadly, they did not mention a date for Europe, or any other regions :/

Hopefully Singapore is a C636 model.
Hopefully the statement is for a Worldwide release and so for C636, C432...
I kinda doubt that it's for worldwide release, Huawei has a habit of "saying" one thing and doing another, so don't hold your breath waiting for the update. As usual of course the US version of the mate 10 pro (BLA-A09) probably won't see it at all.

Yep. All major sites reported Global rollout started early last month. Where is the update.
A big difference between China and Global rollout.
Huawei has been abysmal with updates. People can cheer how good the hardware is, with the prices they are asking for their newer phones without good software support not gonna even consider it.
Exactly

You're right with that one, I took a chance on buying the mate 10 pro (US model) figuring that they would honor what they had previously stated about issuing timely updates for their devices, man was that a mistake. No matter how good the hardware is if a company doesn't support their products it's a deal breaker for sure, I won't be buying any more of their products.
Monthly security updates, added night shot and face unlock, and most likely Pie in 2018, don't know what you people are complaining about.
US model owners is just bad luck that 2018 was the year geopolitics made Huawei untenable, the rest of us are getting great, regular updates.

Yeah, you're probably right on that one. Would be a big mistake on their part though as the US is a large market segment to just abandon. Not too many people will buy the international models that don't have a warranty, these things are too expensive for that.

Wouldn't be a mistake to them. The US government is actively trying to push Huawei out. There's no point gambling on the US market if the government can kick them with a flick of their wrist. Also, Huawei is not popular in the states. They are probably burning money trying to gain market share. If they don't see a good future, rather exit and cut their losses now than lose more in the future for no gain.
I will change to the Chinese region then, because now I'm in the European

Based on my experience Samsung is a lot slower. In fact Samsung has just released it Android Pie update to its flagships which is more than 4 months after Huawei has released Android Pie on its Mate 20 series.
Previously had the P9, Mate 10 and now Mate 20 Pro and so far Huawei has been more regular with its updates something I didn't experience with so many Samsung flagships before.
Still on 171 in Singapore.
Try using vpn and set it to country of purchase and try... you might get lucky... i purchased from India and i set my VPN in Australia and received the update... As compared to UAE, mine was 735 mb or something which indicates in changelog that it is a stable update from beta version.
