Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 0 with S Pen 2019 LTE (SM-P205)
1. Unboxing & Impressions - https://youtu.be/Jzic9JeDBdE
I am surprised that this Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is more closer related to Nexus 7 than the previous model it replaces. It should be on a buy list for anyone wanting to replace their Nexus 7 or Tab A 8.0 2015. Other than the limited 32GB storage size, I absolutely think is is a great budget tab at less than 250USD.
2. Camera Photos & Videos - https://youtu.be/nirrHFIWLWw
This tab blew me away by being able to edit videos and export to 4K. It's punching way above the budget price point. Why didn't Samsung give this a minimum 64Gb storage instead of just 32GB. This is a great little budget tab for on the move YouTubers.
Note: All photos 3264 x 2448 dpi and videos 1920 x 1080 @ 288 kbps shot with this tablet, edited and exported to 4K via Cyberlink Powerdirector Android mobile paid app.
3. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 0 2019 Water Battery Gaming Test - https://youtu.be/KTR2U4jKXVo
Samsung Tab A 8 0 2015 - 4hrs 10mins (4 years old battery) vs Samsung Tab A 8 0 2019 - 6hrs 10mins (new battery)
4. World's Tallest Rain Waterfall at Jewel Changi Airport - Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 shot & edit this video. Use Cinema FV-5 to unlock the camera dpi. Samsung could had enabled this camera with EIS but they didn't such a waste! https://youtu.be/ykL4lavuEok

5. Unboxing Hands-on a 3rd party Wireless Keyboard Cover for the Samsung Tab A 8.0 with Spen 2019 P200 & P205 models. Simple easy to setup and use bluetooth magnetic keyboard cover. This is most suitable for work on the go paired with the Spen nothing can stop you from finishing your work. https://youtu.be/fUeCzhR6WlY

I just ordered one! It's the only 8" s-pen tablet available and the price is right.
Have been looking for awhile now to replace my nvidia shield tab.

Yes no one else can do a tab with pen like Samsung. They should have given it 4GB Ram + 64GB for the same price. It will be a hot seller if they did it. Just uploaded the other tests have a look & comment in video ok thks!

I just got one and absolutely love it. Best design and features and the perfect size. If only we could soon get root for it.. dream dream..

Yep. This one nailed it! I couldn't ask for a better way to wake up the screen especially when its lying flat. :highfive:

This tab looks really good!
Can it actually make phone calls? (voice calls/ gsm calls)
If it can (and it has the proper earspeaker), then I could see this being my primary phone.
I only ever make calls around once a month anyway.
TLDR; Can this tablet make phone calls like a normal phone?

Yes the LTE model P205. They also sell the wifi model P200 so don't get the wrong model.

Anyone know which region firmware is best for usa?
My tablet is using tgy code which apparently is hong kong region.
I'm not having any issues but if another one is better then I'll download and flash.

is DEX installed?

having issues on transferring storage to SD card its not working.

In the specs it lists an RGB light sensor. Can anyone verify that the screen brightness adjusts automatically based on ambient light? (This is a feature that most inexpensive tablets don't have).
Thanks!

I can confirm that there is an adaptive brightness setting that will dim the screen in low-light conditions.

how to root?

does it have a fingerprint reader? I presume not. I'm going to order anyway, with LTE. I wish Samsung also had a model without the S-pen. I'm not using it, and I could save some cost.
On the other hand, given the confusing array of tablets all named Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8", the presence of the S-pen is a nice distinguishing feature. Yesterday, I was standing in a respectable shop and I was unable to tell whether the tablet I was holding was 2017 or 2019.

Any idea where to buy the tablet? It's not available in the US and the only website I found was some sketchy foreign site that's based in Hong Kong. Would love to have this tablet just to doodle and mess with, and especially since I'm heading to Alaska for vacation in August. Don't wanna bring my laptop (which was $1600) in fear of losing it. The price was really good on the website (it was listed as US $240, I believe), but I don't want to risk it, and Carphone Warehouse doesn't seem to have it yet after I looked around on their site.
If it gets to be too much of a hassle, though, I might just bite the bullet and get the 10.1 size 2016 version just so I could have the S Pen. It's a bit more expensive at $330, but I think it's still a good value, IMO.

hi Pegasus, yesterday I ordered the tablet from presumably the same website you saw:
https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/samsung-galaxy-tab-a-8-sm-p205-3gb-32gb-lte-gray-3.html
I'm in Australia and for us the name of the website ends with AU, as if it was some local outfit. I also saw a similar name ending in UK.
I hope it arrives by end of the month. It is indeed cheap, but no so cheap to leave it in the snow overnight. Is Alaska snow-free at this time of the year ?
The reviews for this website were relatively good. Except there is practically no warranty, so I'm taking a gamble, trusting the Samsung brand.

Hey mate, I was skeptical about TobyDeals since the reviews for it were terrible, but saw a few people on Whirlpool who made the jump and received it.
I took the jump as well last Thursday and ordered the Wifi-only one for 322$, decent price considering Kogan were selling it for 399$.
Got email notifications from TobyDeals every single day regarding the order, and was dispatched on Friday.
Just received the parcel today, haven't opened it yet since I'm at work but will do when I get home.
I can feel that it is decently bubble-wrapped inside the parcel.
That's really fast shipping, way quicker than most sellers on AliExpress. Very impressed so far. Will definitely look into buying from them again, their price include GST and are really competitive.
AliExpress you now have to pay GST on top of the advertised price...
I reckon you'll have yours on Friday/Monday, if Toll Express doesn't stuff you around. I've had some shockers with them haha...
Will update you as soon as I open it

> the Wifi-only one for 322$ <
The LTE difference was less than $50, so I ordered the one with a SIM card. I don't intend to use it a lot outside the home, but I shall see. Perhaps I'll have a $10 Boost SIM in it for those rare occasions when I take it outside.

Case with expansion for more memory

I would love to see a way to get more memory out of this thing. The 8GB isn't quite 6GB in reality and I can't fit all my games(modern combat 3, CS Portable, GTA 3, Asphalt 6 and Real Racing 2).
I have considered getting a thumb drive or something to connect to the micro usb port but then I thought it would be cleaner with a case and possible a SD/micro sd slot instead of just a thumb drive. Would also be nice to see a charging port on the case as well.
If that case existed it would cost at least 50$ so I guess you could sell the one you got now on ebay for the price you got it to a couentry that hasn't the tablet yet and buy the 16gb version.
You just can't go wrong and it's far more convenient.
Get a thin OTG cable, buy a SD card reader (or microSD, depending on which is thinner), plug it into your tablet and find a way to hide the wires into your case. A blurex case or some other big and bulky case may do the work of easily hiding the cable.

This was my thought at first but I doubt mine would be good enough to remove everytime I need to charge up, and that leads to more complications but I have seen the cell phone upgrades for ipod touch's that are built into the case so an SD card reader built into a case the size of a tablet could be done sleekly aside from a hump @ the USB port and maybe a hump at the charging port.
Just figure if I put this information out there it might get picked up and produced for not only the nexus 7, I believe there is a market as memory needs will always grow.

I was originally going to take it back but my mom bought it off of me and for $250 I might as well spend $100 more for a TF300 with 32GB memory, micro sd slot, 8MP decent rear cam, 10" screen and same processor setup with better screen and TV out. The TF300 is thinner feeling and much higher quality IMO.
The SD card slot will also go up to 32GB and I believe there are 64GB SD cards out now for fairly cheap($60) compared to the cost of on board memory. 16GB is just barely enough to run my games and then if I wanted my mp3's or movies for on the go it's 32GB+

I wouldn't recommend the TF line. I have the prime and between the prime, tf300 and tf700 they all seem to have the same IO problems even heavily modded. Jelly bean might have helped it but I'm not positive.

I do feel you on your need for space really but the thing I tried to tell you is that those 8gb for 50$ will make your life way easier than expecting manufacturers to do what you want and then pay a lot of green to have that bulky solution.
If you have enough with the 6gb you have left of memory just for apps I'd just root it and get the extra you need for media of the many USB sticks you may have at home. But really if you think your best solution is these type of covers then I hope you will find them soon.

I think it's in everyone's best interest. This gimmick could set a case apart and double it's value with $2 in parts. Hard to beat $10 for 16GB memory stick that ADDS to the 8GB I would have.
As I said, this is really no longer my problem but she wanted me to download videos to it and I noticed it's not even near 8GB of space stock, more like 5.8. So that $50 would get what? 11-12GB? no thanks again.
Not sure about the I/O problems I played with a TF300 at bestbuy and it was holding 60FPS solid in CS Portable while the Nexus 7 hangs around 45-55 and does it looking like crap(washed out, light bleeding, tons of dead pixels) but my mom doesn't care, I did when it came to dishing out another $50 for 11-12GB.
Think I might order one of these for $15 just to have around:
http://usb.brando.com/eagletec-usb-nanosac-micro-sd-card-reader_p00905c031d15.html
It may squeeze between a stretchy case and the back of the tablet. Would like to find a OTG cable that has a Y for charging but I haven't seen one yet. I also just found another possible strike for the Nexus 7:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6061/mhl-and-usbotg-on-the-nexus-7-mounting-usb-storage-not-supported
Seems like they tried to really lock down the memory and restrict the device to streaming. Sounds a lot like an apple thing to do, I mean seriously at this point apple starts sounding competitive again since Android really isn't nearly as plush or refined.

I dunno, my cousin has the TF300 and its nice. I had the original TF100 and loved it. I went with the N7 because of the processor upgrade and 7" form factor. I haven't heard many complaints with the TF300 or newer. The prime seemed to have issues but it was their first tegra3.

It's about 13.4 GB free with the 16 GB model. And maybe yours is just a defective unit. I'm getting 60fps and I don't have light bleed or dead pixels.

I have seen 3 with the problem so far. One custom rom(mine) and two stock roms. All have similar FPS and problems with screen. Light bleed is on everything IMO so yours having none is impossible. The dead pixels aren't dead so much as stuck during certain colors. You need to use a dead pixel tester to really notice, trust me it's there. Edit: seems the bleeding is very common. http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...k-your-nexus-7-tablet-backlight-bleeding.html

LOL, you've seen three with light bleed, so it's impossible for anyone not to have it?
I ran through the tests in that post and found no issues at all.
Would love to see something like this, at the moment I'm just relying on a 32GB Cruzer Fit drive. Pretty compact for the size.

All LED backlit devices have light bleed to the point you can see with brightness turned all the way up then look in the corners. I haven't had a LED back lit display on a phone, tablet or TV that didn't have some. Albeit, it's minimal on most phones these days tablets are big enough to display it clearly like "most" nexus 7's, maybe you have a freak. But how do we conclude? I would average out the results and by that point most will agree the nexus 7 has terrible light bleed. Excluding yours of course.
Would love to see a case like this too.

Well, I don't have any stuck or dead pixels but you're right. When I look closely there is a tiny bit of light bleed. Not really noticeable though.
Is it somehow possible to "add" this part inside the original case ? Then wire it and glue it ?
I know the more practical solution is a otg cable and and usb stick or adapter but why not pimping the nexus directly.
I would add a

Maybe this will help? No spen, SD card, removable battery, multi window, mouse actions, etc. The note series is really the best big phone out there. Not because of hardware, but Samsung software really takes advantage of it. Stock android just doesn't.
But...it is impressive that moto fit a 5.9" screen in a small body about the size if the note 4.
Then do it. All talk.
Best thing about having Jump 1 is being able to jump whenever I feel like!!! If I dont like the Note 4, I'll just Jump to the Nexus 6.

You are right it is the best big phone out there, I played with it at Best Buy.
*The S-pen I really liked it, almost like writing on paper.
*SD Card - I don't mind losing it. I'm actually waiting for my 2nd 64Gb microsd replacement from sandisk, somehow they always go to a locked state. (I have 3 more sitting at home since I lost the receipts SanDisk won't replace them)
*Removable battery - I've never swapped for a bigger battery on my GS3 or my GS4. Thought the power saving feature will come handy in some occasions.
* Multi-Window - always had it rarely ever used it. I'm sure it's better on the Note 4 because of the bigger screen.
*Mouse action w\ S-pen - Now that will be useful for me.
*samsungalaxypromotions.com - I don't think NEXUS would give me $200 for my old GS3.
*Speaker - Really loud on the Note 4, kinda gets distorted at max level.
I've never had a nexus before, just a little jealous they get OS updates quickly lol.

Yup this is the best nexus feature. But most Samsung devices get pretty good development support. So even if T-Mobile doesn't release it quickly, you'll at least get it a few months quicker when the international version gets it.
But you really don't use multi window? That's one of the beet features on android IMO.
As for the SD card, I bought a Samsung one a whole ago and haven't had any issues with it.

Questions for Note 3 users: If you install the Google launcher do you lose some of the S-Pen features?

Nope. It's a touchwiz thing. You can use any launcher. You really don't lose anything by switching to a different launcher. (I had a note 3 before my S5).

i RMAed a 64gb microSD with sandisk earlier this year, and they didn't ask for a receipt. they asked me to take 2 pictures of the card (front and back intact), 2nd set of pics was the card destroyed in 2 pieces (front and back as well), and my replacement card was on its way the next 2 days. i believe that sd card has a 10yr warranty, and i RMA it 1yr later after purchase, so it makes sense that a receipt is not required for a product that has only been out for 1yr only, or maybe i just got lucky with a nice rep.
I will try giving another call.

Yep! Nothing else on the market even comes close, but that's IF you need all those functions. I do, so the Note is the only choice. The Spen and oneNote are things I can't live without. Otherwise if you don't need that, then yeah go for the N6 save some money and don't deal with Samsung anymore.
If the nexus6 had 128gb onboard, I would have gone for that. 16 and 32gb phones are just too small.
The only trepidation I have about the note4 is how long it going to takes before Samsung releases androidL on the device. They always take forever. The note3 is still in 4.4.2, when all the Motorola phones and most HTC phones have all been upgraded.

i actually noticed that too. i had to lower it at best buy. Im hoping its a demo software bug that can be fixed. On the other hand, my level on headphones with my note 3.... i sometimes wish i could crank up the volume louder so maybe the note 4 will make a difference it volume levels.
If anythign, get the Note 4 and later on just flash a AOSP L rom on it...
You will loose samsung features but then again you can also flash back to a Samsung Rom...
Best of both worlds...

Yesterday I got the GEAR LIVE. The GEAR NEO is $200, but I got a brand new GEAR LIVE for $150. It is off craigslist, but after talking to the guy back and forth, (he was asking $200) he told me he worked for google, (Seattle) and went to the Google I/O Conference in San Francisco on March 25 where they introduced the GEAR LIVE and gave them away to developers there. The reason he never used or opened the box, which was still sealed was he has a iPhone. I talked him down because I have to travel 35 miles to get it at his place of work. As long as I had cash on hand, I got to unseal the box.
Indeed, the box was never opened, the seal was still intact and the plastic was on the face of watch.
See two 1st two pics.

Like new! Is new!
After setting it up and playing with it today, my only disappointment is the vibration is very weak... and that was the big reason I wanted it, was to vibrate when I got a text message. I'm hoping that can be fixed, otherwise I might be selling this... Oh YES.... the pictures were taken with the Samsung Galaxy S5!
If I were you I would sell it and get a Gear 2 or gear 2 Neo. The only reason to get the gear live is when you don't have a galaxy device. Since you have the s5 you'd be way betterof with the gear 2. Way more features, better battery life and stronger vibration.

I only paid $150 for the Gear Live, the Gear 2 cost $299, way overpriced!!! Can't possibly be much better than the Gear Live and I'm reading the vibration is weak on that one also. The phones are very similar too.
Nothing to brag about because you got burnt, get your money back.

I paid 149 for mine brand new from best buy, why would you want to buy an older model for the same price and it's used. The label is real easy to bypass on those boxes, I can't believe dude never opened it, highly unlikely. And you definitely shouldn't even have a live considering you own an s5. I had the gear 2 first and used it with my m8 and it's still a toss up to which I would rather have. The gear2 has way more features , looks way nicer and feels way better on your wrist. And bands look better cuz the gear2 don't have the g4y 80s rendition of a futuristic style cover over the band where it meets the watch. Looks like a wheel cover on a car from back to the future.... I'm still happy with the live though because there is to much you don't have access to on the G2 with not having a Samsung phone. If you can I would seriously consider rocking the gear2 since you are spending only 50 more for it. Much smarter choice, you want to be smart right? Good luck!

Wow! What a overall putdown on Gear Live. Best Buy is currently selling them for $200.
Apparently you never read the many reviews where Gear Live was rated above the Gear 2. AND your comment saying it is an older model when in fact it is the newest one just released a couple months ago
Also the Gear Live will have more software to choose from with Google and developers than limited by Samsung software.
Do your homework and research dude.
And your comment saying you don't believe it was new is off base... mine has never been open as the seal was still intact, plastic still on the face, wrap around charger etc and not a scratch anywhere, the new welcome screen when you first turn it on AND the receipt / letter from Google:

I never said I don't like the gear live I just said I like the extra features that come with the 2. Camera, IR blaster with tv remote, speaker, stand alone media player, dialer and voice calls right from the watch. I don't know how the live could be better when it's lacking all of that, I agree however about the open ended development of course, but it's limited to its hardware of course, more frustrating than anything is I've never heard a good explanation as to why they couldn't implement all those features I mentioned on the live, it would be awesome to have all that on a straight Google platform.

It's a nice convenience but not a necessity. I like to be able to check my notifications without having to pull my phone out of my pocket every time. With the latest firmware update you can still get them over WiFi even if you're out of range of the Bluetooth.
I also use mine to control my Bluetooth devices. With a headset or my car stereo I can control my music or answer calls. If you don't mind talking to your watch the Hello Google feature gives even more control. (I always felt weird talking to my phone or watch.)
You can also tell time with it.
And get the latest weather.

Battery difference between S8PLUS

Has there been any info on if the new chipset is more efficient than the S8 Plus for battery? With a larger screen and s-pen I don't want to end up scrambling to find a charger by the afternoon.
I'd love to know this too! This is really my only concern with this phone.

What are you talking about lol?

From the reports I have read the Note 8's SOC will be slightly less than that of the SGS8+. If you study the specs there is no way around this. Apart from the price the slightly smaller battery could be the Achilles tendon of this mobile. Only time will tell.
When one looks at the schematics of the Note 8 there is no way Samsung could have done better. Its the space the S-pen takes up that causes the slightly smaller battery.
Having written the above I have been fighting for either larger batteries or new battery technology for years on all these high end Uber flagship mobiles. To some degree they all peeve me as they come with all the bells and whistles then add software and suggest we use said software to downgrade the performance to that of a middle of the range phone or have an SOC time of a few hours? The whole situation from all brands is rather absurd?

I love the battery life on the S8+ so if the Note 8 comes close then I am a happy camper. Though I expect to lose half an hour at least.
My previous was an s8+, and the note is close, or event better:

How does it compare to S7 Edge?
I had S6+ and hated the battery on it. It was real bad.
Then I got S7 Edge and it can actually make it through work with about 20-30% battery left.
Not sure if anyone saw yet, but DJ Koh (Chief of Samsung Mobile) said in a statement in The Investor that the battery is smaller because of the new 10nm processor that is supposed to be 30% more power efficient...but who knows if that is the real case...we will have to wait and see.
Latest test of Note 8 battery life, news is good
I thought that the chipset in the Note 8 was the same as what was used in the S8+. With a smaller battery, how could it possibly have better battery life than the S8+?

Speculation is greater RAM and better optimised OS give the Note8 an advantage
More ram uses slightly more power on the hardware size but can save it on the software side if apps are suspended in memory rather than being restarted from scratch. At this point there are quite a few reviews, hands-on, etc that show about 4 hours or a little better screen on time. These are people with new phones doing a lot of fiddling so I'd expect that goes up slightly once the new phone fiddle factor is out of the picture. This is enough for me although I'd of been happier with more.

Its absurd that the note series are 'power' devices yet they fit a smaller battery than the S8+!
Covering their arses or what?! This doesn't attract me, having Samsung skimp and play it uber safe for their own gratification. Other phones (including theirs) have larger capacities and are far cheaper. A bigger battery showing they have confidence in their products would not have been rocket science - and would have been what we, its 'power' users expect.
So what they made an error in the note 7 - the note 8 should have been the beast that it just isn't.

Question Who's Going To Upgraded?

Based on some fairly reliable sources we're getting a clearer picture of changes planned for the S22 Ultra. It's morphing into a Note like offering with a dedicated S-Pen slot and a more squared body. Samsung won't be releasing a Note 21 and why should they? Display and battery size are reduced, cameras have some minor upgrades and possibly vapor cooling. The other noticeable difference is the Exynos SoC which will pair with AMD for superior graphics processing even though benchmarks are comparable to the Snapdragon 888. It's still a wait and see since the rollout is anticipated in January or February 2022 but if these projections prove accurate I'll pass on S22. Not a fan of S-Pen or the boxed styling and beyond these there isn't enough game changing innovation to consider making a change.

That display looks horrible... bad artist or bad Samsung?
Meh just bought a second new N10+ running Q.
It's color rendering exceeds some of the newer displays and is a proven workhorse that's fun to use.
Android R and above are rotten Apples
Samsung's track record since the 10+ has been subpar. I'll likely wait 2 or more years before switching platforms.
I don't have the patience for Android's and Samsung's bs. Too late, too slow and the wrong moves, you lose.
Meanwhile I'm quit happy with my little 10+ family. Lol, I'm still exploring them. My oldest 10+ is 2 years old, has had 1 replacement battery, looks and runs like it's new. It's OS load is almost 1.5 years old, still running fast and stable with minimal maintenance.
I don't use the spen a lot but it nests away painlessly when not in use. The bt remote shutter release and Smart Select are excellent when you need them.
So yeah, I like the spen.
There are still a few new unlocked Note 10+'s 256gb/12gb ram Snapdragon/Q variants out there. Grab one up if you want one... they be sweet.
No upgrade for me, the S21 Ultra is very similar to my S20 Ultra, not worth the upgrade IMHO. That rendering looks hideous, and the specs being mentioned so far are not worth an upgrade.

1.5 years This phone gets heavy usage. Next one may replaced sooner to avoid another failure. I was lucky the display wasn't damaged.
Battery replacement is fairly easy.
Otherwise nothing failed or broke. Display looks as good as the new one and both are perfect.
No complaints on the 10+.
Not this time. I don't think phones are making that big a leap now with regards to upgrading. I did from the s20+ to the s21 ultra and to be honest whilst the ultras great I really don't need better
Battery reduced?
But not to worry we've given you a faster charger.

Update - Charging speed for all models stays at 25W. Here's my take, unless you trade-in your device or accept a long term contract with a service provider you'll drop a significant bundle of $$$ to "upgrade" for a device which in many aspects isn't any better than the S21. I will definitely pass on the S22 and if Samsung doesn't get it's act together I'll downgrade to a much better value in the A72 or S22 FE. So you'll lose a more powerful chipset and some camera options but for about half the price you'll get most of the bells and whistles plus the MicroSD and 3.5 Jack. I really question the VALUE aspect in not only the S22 but the Fold 3 as well, it just doesn't stack up.
I'm on the otherside with the S-pen, I was on the fence going from the S20u to S21u, and after doing a camera review for youtube, I was debating returning it because it's essentially the identical phone with the reduction of microSD, but the though of using an S-pen gets rid of many note books I have laying around.
Now, to date, I still haven't purchased the S-pen because I got the silver phone and the only case they offered with the S-pen was black and covers the entire camera area, which defeats the purpose of getting the silver phone when the entire thing ends up being black anyway.
They now have aftermarket S-pen cases and one of which is clear so I can still visibly see the silver phone. It's been in my Amazon cart for awhile now but the renders of this S22 with the S-pen integrated are stopping me from hitting the checkout button when I could just wait it out and it's included with the phone lol
I was just going to buy the S-pen Pro but after seeing the price tag on that thing, I'll stick to a hoard of notebooks and pens. I take a lot of notes, and I'm going to assume that over the last 10 years, I haven't spent as much on notebooks and pens as the price of that stupid S-pen Pro.. it's.. literally insane lol

Im Not sure if there are enough reasona to upgrade. But i love the boxy note Design... Had the note 20 ultra and it was beautyful, shame that Samsung had the ****ty exynos... I returned it. But i think battery will be smaller than s21 ultra...
I'll be upgrading to a different device. And I can't wait! My S21U has been quite a let down as it has always had some odd issues that seem to be software based... But since those issues also occur after a full device wipe and Android reinstallation, I'm starting to assume that there were a bunch of manufacturing issues with this phone... And with the Samsung devices I have bought in the past, I've always gotten unlucky. Goodbye, folks

I saw that, the spen pro.
Samsung at their half baked finest
Meh, the N10+ blows it away with a completely self contained, fully functional spen.
I bought my 2nd new N10+ 2 weeks ago. No regrets... these buggers look gorgeous and run great. Running on P and Q; there will be no downgrade to R for me.
I use the spen mostly as a remote shutter release and for Smart Capture. Otherwise it hides safely out of sight.
Both Android and Samsung have lost their way... really badly, but like a drunk lost in the desert they have high hopes.

New ones are very hard to find now even stateside.
A lot of scams going on now too; be careful.
As for warranty I wouldn't be too concerned as the 10+'s tend to be very reliable with an excellent build, they are rocks. Just test the hell out of it including a ScreenTest. It should do fine.
PM if you want that stateside dealer. It's the US unlocked variant running on Q. Unless you want to root it's the more desirable variant; all the Snapdragon variants use the vapor/copper heat sink, none have the graphene one.
