Bluetooth audio sync issue - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi I've noticed some lag between my Bluetooth speaker and the video when trying to watch YouTube or Netflix. Kodi has the option to adjust the audio offset so that's not a problem but I can't seem to find anything like that for the other apps. Is there any fix for this?
Upgraded from a nexus 5x which never had this issue.
On Koodo in Ontario if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I just got my P20 Pro and also having this issue. Very annoying. Had a Mate 9 and never experienced this kind of issues before.
Do you found a fix yet?

Bluetooth car streaming distortion

I am experiencing distortion/popping/cracking while streaming music via bluetooth from my HTC One to my car's headunit. I'm using the default music app and 320kbps mp3s. Never had this issue with my Galaxy SII.
I turned off Beats Audio, but that didn't solve it. I hope a fix can be found for this because I love this phone.
Anyone in the same boat?

I am having the exact same problem. Quite frustrating. Main problem is distortion, particularly in higher frequencies.
I have tested my HTC One on headphones, and there is no problem. The problem is over bluetooth streaming to car head unit. I have used 2 other phones (GSIII and Iphone) on the same head unit without any problem.
I largely play 320kbps spotify files.
If this problem can't be fixed in the short term, I am strongly considering returning the phone as i consider this a serious fault.
Apparently the new update (1.29) fixes the bluetooth issues amongst other things. I've still not received it though

I can confirm this, 1.29 works great streaming over bluetooth to my car stereo. No distortion at all with beats turned on.

I'm presently running software version 1.29.980.2. So it seems 1.29 dosn't fix the problem?

Any other thoughts on what the problem could be?

That might be the problem, even though that is a 4.2 issue.
It requires a software fix.

I am having the same issue with my 2009 Acura TSX and I'm running version 1.29.401.13. I have contacted HTC about this issue and it was escalated to a higher echelon of techs to work on, but so far, no answer or fix.
I have even tried the "fix" located on a german site, still no luck.
Yep... Bluetooth over MyLink sounds awful in the high frequencies... Almost like its only transmitting at 48kbps.
Did anyone every get this issue fixed?
Would flashing to another ROM fix it?

Bluetooth Audio Stutter / Skips

I have received my T-Mobile Note 4, and I have the infuriating problem of random Bluetooth streaming skips / stutters. Does anyone else have this issue? I know it was a known problem on the S5's, and it never really got fixed...
Does anyone have any solutions for this? I checked out the ViPER EQ mod, could that help?
Currently I am 100% stock (latest version, got the T-Mobile patch right away), and I only use Spotify for music. I have experienced stutter in my Nissan, a pair of Sennheisers, and a Monoprice Bluetooth adapter. What's also upsetting is that the stock Samsung music player often starts playing when a Bluetooth streaming device is connected...
Any advice?

I am having the same issue. I really don't know if this is an issue or not. I drive charger and my M8 was the same. It's annoying I feel ya. hopefully someone can tell us how to control this thing.

It's funny because I'm coming from the M8 and it was flawless for me. That is was running 4.4.2, whereas this is 4.4.4... Any correlation?

I really don't know if this an issue. My M8 4.4.3 and had same thing. But to be fair Note 4 is more superior inside my car. I am able to listen to my text msg. Voice commands works really good on note 4.
I have this issue from time to time on my Nexus 5. I have to reboot it to fix it. It happens maybe 1 out of 30 times I use BT headsets. Enough to be annoying but not a deal breaker. I am beginning to think this may be an Android issue and not Samsung. Those that have the issue on Note 4, does a reboot fix the problem?
Every now and then when I play Tunein Radio Pro, it would be a hick up. I already did the 30 sec buffer. But usually it works. Is this what you mean?
In my Jeep Wrangler I have BlueTooth. Every few months when I get a new device, I always have to call my mom for the BlueTooth test. The Note 4 has been the only phone to pass. For whatever reason my mom's phone would always sound like I was in a tunnel with the exception on the Note 4. Even the LG G3 failed this. In my 2012 GTI I had issues with some devices as well as my 08 WRX. It always came down the the BlueTooth stack for phone call quality and skipping and sometimes just dropping/crashing out of BT all together. Hope you guys get yours resolved. I know this is a huge problem. Heck when Note had its recent update, I was worried it would break something its just been too good so far! Best of luck guys.
I believe its a kitkat bug. It happened on my note 3 as well
Might warrant a return.
This is so annoying. I'm coming from an M8 (and previously M7) and use bluetooth for everything. Wireless headphones at the gym, wireless speakers at home, media in my car, and a Moto360.
Never had any skips/stutters on previous devices through any of these. Moreover, sometimes the music just STOPS and drops the connection and I have to repair the two devices in the middle of a workout. Is anyone experiencing the music STOPPING? Might return/exchange mine if not.
This happens through any media app - GPM, Milk, Netflix, etc. Want to throw my device.
I am having this issue in my Outback, but it is not happening in my WRX. I was thinking maybe it just doesn't like one, but now I see this is a larger issue. I haven't had this problem with my S5, so maybe it'll clear up when some Roms are released.
I'm having the same issue with my wireless Bluetooth headphones. I thought it was because I was too far away from the phone, but I'm having the same problem when I'm close to the phone also. My Note 3 does not have this problem.
I used my like at least 6 years old Bluetooth headset for like the 4 hours and in that time I barely had skips it only skipped when I left the room and went a few feet away also
Sent from my SM-T210R using XDA Free mobile app
same here
I'm having the same problem
I find this happens when the screen is off. When it's on, no issue. I hope an update fixes this soon.
This stopped after I went to Firekat Rom. Not sure why or how, but Bluetooth is smooth now

Just wanted to verify if anyone is NOT experiencing this issue? If there are Note's out there that are not experiencing it then I might exchange mine. If this is a software issue for all notes then this blows.

As I reported before, I had a similar issue on my Nexus 5 and rebooting would fix it. It was a rare occurrence but it would happen from time to time.
I have not experienced the issue at all on my Note 4 in the 8 days I have had it. I use BT quite a bit with my Heart Rate sensor and BT headsets while running and also connected to my stereo in my Sonata. Has been flawless so far.
This might have something to do with S-Health. Audio skipped for me every 10 minutes or so. Didn't matter the BT equipment. Yesterday, I decided to Disable S_Health. Today, at the gym, about a 90 minute session...no skips. The guy above using FireKat, by any chance that rom has S-Health disabled/uninstalled by default?

YouTube stutters while using bluetooth audio

Hi,
I'm currently using my P30 Pro and it seems that there's no way to watch a youtube clip without stuttering. My colleague has got the same problem on his phone.
When using my Bose Soundsport Free , YouTube keeps lagging (only the picture, not the sound). I already tried to reset my phone, delete all data of the app, and changed the codec.
The problem also appears when connecting to my car (youtube stutters). Please note : that was only for testing.
The bose Soundsport free did work without any problems on my Galaxy S9+. I'm also using the newest update.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks

I think there was a similar issue with instagram also on the previous build. Are you sure you are on the latest build ?
I updated a few days after the release of the phone to EMU 9.1.0.124.
My colleague's phone was using the previous one.
I'm having same problem with Bluetooth audio streaming, I'm on latest firmware...
Huawei phones are (in)famous for aggressive battery management.
I had the music stuttering issue with MX Player on P20 Pro & it only went away if I suspended power management for the MX Player app.
I have had issues with Bluetooth stuttering as well, on Samsung, Skullcandy & other noname knockoffs, but only in public transport where tons of other bluetooth devices are live in close vicinity.
However, on he recent software version on the P20 Pro & now the P30 Pro, I'm seeing the stutters less & less.
Not a solution for your issue, just my observations.
YMMV
This is happening on my p20 recently and it's super aggravating. It will work if I shut the screen of but if Im trying to watch a video I'm pretty much SOL
Hi I found the solution! Go in developer settings and change your Bluetooth code from AAC to SBS. AAC seems to be cpu intensive, therefore causes choppy video. Good luck!
For those facing this issue on Android TV youtube app, using bluetooth headsets, go to settings -- Device Preferences -- Sound -- Under Digital Audio Format, select Auto...restart.
This solved my issue

Bluetooth audio delay

Hello, I have been intensively googling for the past 2 days but couldn't find any permanent solution to my problem, which is bluetooth audio delay. I own Bose Soundsport Wireless headphones and I have never had a problem with them when it comes to audio delay. I just bought a new P30 pro and while watching videos on youtube or in any video player I get noticeable audio delay. I found people complaining about this issue with other Huawei devices as well. The only solution I found is temporary - in developer settings changing the bluetooth codec from aac to sbc. Sadly, this settings gets reset every time the headphones are connected. For a premium device like p30 pro I would expect much more polished experience. Does anyone know how to solve this?

No delay on youtube after update .178 here.
Dont know what may be your problem.
I don't know either. I am on 185 I received through OTA. Hopefully I won't have to do a factory reset.
Are you on wifi while connected to bluetooth earphones?
Ok, realuzed it's probably related to Dolby Atmos. Turned off fixes the problem. For now.
Edit: Okay, it seems unrelated to Dolby Atmos. Sadly, it's back and I can't figure out why. Strange thing is that it only happens on this phone. I don't have any problems with my old LG G6.
I use my LG for hotspotting currently. While watching a movie broadcasted from Huawei on a TV connected to the same hotspot, there is no delwy whatsoever. I would assume there would be a delay considering the data transfer: From LG to Huawei back to the LG and to the TV. I am wondering if this would be solved by a factory reset. I have already cleared cache and it didn't help.

Question Realme GT2 - Audio issue with some software

Hi,
Not sure if its connected to the other common mic issue or not. In google meet specifically there is a lag during conferences as if the wifi is slow. So when I speak others can only hear it after a few seconds delay and the audio is sometimes breaking. If I switch to another phone on the same wifi its super clear and no issues. So its not the network thats causing the issue. Zoom etc works fine and its only in a few software where I have the issue. The problem is there in both bluetooth headset and using phone mic.
BTW the other phones I have are all Android 11 and below. So not sure if its an app compatibility issue with Android 12. Anyone else has any similar issues with this phone?
This was fixed with the latest android update just in case if anyone else is wondering
On version A.17 which is latest for European countries, didn't fix that.
Bad mic audio quality and very bad compatibility with majority of Bluetooth devices out there .
I am selling the phone after 15 days of purchase.
My problem apparently recurred again. Im now inclined to believe it could be some issue with my ISP and it randomly happens once in a while.
Issue still exists. Firmware is A19. I usually use Signal and Telegram and both app suffer because of it while every other phone I have tried works well in same circumstances. Using mobil net the problem disappears.
I'm on RMX3311_11_A.20 and the Problem still persists.
I can't believe that Realme is crippling a phone, just because they refuse to fix the bitrate. I've been playing around with setEdit but it doesn't change a thing.
is not really the bitrate, the problem is in mixer_paths.xml (from vendor\etc) the gains are too high and camcorder uses headset noise canceling that is too aggressive. With root it can be fixed, but they don't allow bootloader unlock...
Issue exist on realme gt 2 pro latest brand new phone. Android 13 update also didnt solve the issue. Its really disappointing
