IMHO don't try that.
I only recommend to dirty flash it over Global Beta.
In your case I should do a clean flash.

I mean i flashed PE over MIUI 10.2 so MIUI is base ROM and after clearing whole storage it should boot fine

Backup and try...

Can you guide me, it just stops at the boot screen

Do a full wipe in the Recovery (Google it) and flash the Miui Zip from the OP. Done.
I'll give it a try now... MIUI is the only OEM System that i would prefer over AOSP. At least if its based on a actual Android Version (Oreo was a Pain compared to Pie). Thanks God is Pie finally coming... Thanks for sharing!

Hey Guys.
This is a pretty stable rom. Flashed it yesterday and everything is working just fine.. Just follow the usual steps. (Assuming that you guys have a custom recovery.)
1, as per the OP, if u r coming from Miui global, just flash this over but if u r coming from custom Pie rooms, you need to do an advanced wipe from recovery. Wipe System, Data, Cache, Vendor.
Note: there is no need to wipe internal storage.
2, flash the rom but don't boot immediately. Flash the universal deScript file if you wish to maintain decrypted state. And then reboot
3, Set things up and flash magisk to root. Works perfect too.
P.S If you do not have a custom recovery, you would have to backup internal storage because updating through Xiaomi's recovery is bound to wipe everything.
Cheers.

Is there ARB?

It still has a lot of problems for 9.5.8. I have already tested and today he has released 9.5.9 but can't find the load link because he closed.

Please use this only if your phone was already decrypted. If it was not, then this file is useless. You would have to wipe internal storage, then flash rom and then flash this DecScript.

Yes, My Account was automatically filled in after using AOSP and flashing this after a Full wipe including formatting data.

Wiping internal will not do the trick alone. Would be the best to format data right!? (Includes /data and internal)

Wiping internal will not do the trick alone. Would be the best to format data right!? (Includes /data and internal)[/QUOTE]
Yes of course. Wiping the other partitions is something necessary by default. The requirement of wiping internal storage is dependant on whether your phone is in an encrypted or decrypted state. If you are not sure whether it is in either of the states, or if u r not sure what these things mean, ur phone is likely to be encrypted. So formatting all partitions and then following my instructions would solve any problems.
P.S.. The orangefox recovery is a good recovery to flash the rom.

9.5.8 pie for mix2 has a lot of problems, if not necessary, do not flash, I warned, but if 9.5.9 is stable at a certain level, the problem is small, works well, waiting for a long time, leaving beta to the public. Or who wants to test it

Today 9.5.9 pie for Mix2 is officially released. Can load and test now, no need to fix it, fhash can be both recovery mode and fastboot rom works well

Where? I cannot find it officially neither with OTA (open beta). Maybe are you talking about the .eu ROM? In that case here we are talking about official ROM, MIUI.

MIUI Global Oreo Beta, Nightly Build Download Links

I have created an automated list of the Oreo nightly builds, so you can go to check the latest one whenever you want, and get download link and changelog link.
https://funkyhuawei.club/mimix2builds
This has a full index of all Oreo builds, and is updated every six hours.
I can't offer any support or any guarantee it will stay up, or that the links will work, or that it will continue to find new builds, but so far it works.
It helps a lot! Thanks!

Ive noticed on first install it wont boot. So to fix this, wipe data in twrp, flash rom first than let it boot to system without flashing magisk. Than connect to pc and flash oreo twrp again because twrp replaced with stock recovery. Than follow below instructions.
Also I've noticed sometimes you need to flash magisk 14.5...2 times for it to boot.
Oreo twrp 3.2.1.0

install Oreo beta in twrp. Reboot back into twrp. Than flash magisk 14.5. it's the only one that will boot for me. Than reboot.
magisk 14.5

What is the procedure for installing these ROMs. I tried before to install twrp, format data, copy rom from PC, flash rom and magisk. But when I go to boot up it just reboots on the "mi" screen twice and goes to recovery.

Haven't tried to flash without magisk, but would it make sense? Seems most people I have read are able to do so. Formatting data only with the Oreo twrp correct?

Yeah don't need to flash magisk but will loose Oreo recovery.
Regarding flashing them, an alternative to using twrp is flashing with fastboot -- If there is interest I might make a tool to help with that.
Just installed latest Build.
Runs super fluid, no major issues so far.
Just noticed that some settings in Chronos causing a force close, nothing too important.
And iphone X gestures are goddamn awessome!
FYI new build is up. 8.1.18 -- check link in original post for download link. Changelog just mentions stability fixes.

There is a fastboot application that works really well.
I am unable to alter the brightness on the Oreo TWRP. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
is dirty flash possible? Or via update function in miui?
Or do I have to setup the mix2 new every time?
(Just ask before flashing new build)

If you are on open beta, you have to do clean install, wipe everything except internal storage, so you will lose data

I don't think so, moreover, it will replace your twrp recovery so you'll need to flash it back.
Can I just flash it from twrp, with not encrypted data, obviously after cleaning just data and system, without formatting?
(I don't care if recovery gets overwritten).

2) Opened TWRP and format data. Reboot to TWRP again. Reboot to system
3) Opened TWRP and format data. Reboot to TWRP again. Flash magisk. Reboot to system

Your Data partition can mount in TWRP?
if TWRP ask password, probably because install TWRP with active password lockscreen in system. When install recovery make sure deactive lockscreen pasword first

Format the data partition in TWRP. You need to do this when installing over MIUI.

Are you booting into MIUI at least once after flashing it, before flashing anything else?
I've stopped doing the mount/unmount. I now always reboot back into TWRP after formatting data, seems more reliable.
In TWRP do a factory reset, then format data, then reboot back into TWRP.
After this install the ROM you want

Can you provide all the steps you are doing. I can't see any reason why it's not working.

Step 4 needs to be format data, not wipe data, you have to type 'yes' to confirm when you do it.

a few short questions
....................
1-Is it necessary to format data for flash in each time?
2-even need to flash miui with miflah and boot before flash custom rom in each time?
and do need to flash vendor global my phone before flash custom roms?

If you want to flash something else, remove lockscreen security first before flashing. This should allow you to dirty flash an update, or clean flash a new ROM, without problems. You only need to format data when flashing over MIUI.
If you get into problems and you cannot successfully get a custom ROM working, this is when you need to flash MIUI first.
You only need to flash vendor/firmware files when the custom ROM recommends/requires a version that is different to what you currently have.

The emoji's screwed up my reply. Try again.
1. Next time create a new post, don't resurrect a vaguely similar old post.
2. Restore MIUI with a fastboot ROM and try again. Use my guide here to help you install the ROM of choice.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/simple-guide-flipkart-owners-t4151007/post83329343
If you're not sure what you're doing, follow the guide exactly, do not freestyle.
1.Install any rom
2. In recovery factory reset or change data partition to ext2 and then again back to ext4
Reboot
It will boot.

Hi, I am new to K20 Pro, I have not unlocked my phone yet, I was just going through the forum, to understand all the things and how flashing is done in K20 Pro, I have a question about flashing the vendor, some ROM require it & some don’t, can anyone explain? And how do I choose the correct vendor for my device?? Where can I download the right vendor??
Thanks!

When flashing you will actually need vendor and firmware files together.
These are taken from the official MIUI fastboot ROMs. You can find them repackaged in a single flashable zip file from here.
https://downloads.akhilnarang.dev/MIUI/raphael/
Flashing one of these files in TWRP is the easiest way to go.
You can also find then repackaged as separate zip files from here
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/
This site has a much greater archive, so is good if you need an older version that you can't find in the other site. You will need to make sure you download vendor and firmware files for the same version.
You should always stick to the version that is for the region of your phone. e.g. Indian vendor and firmware for an Indian K20 Pro, etc.
Some ROMs use an OSS vendor and so this is included as part of the ROM install. In which case there is no need to flash the MIUI vendor.
When a new version of MIUI is released, vendor and firmware files might get updated, to fix a bug or to add extra functionality. In this case some custom ROM devs will include them so that they get the bug fixes or extra functionality in their ROM too. When this happens they will update the minimum vendor and firmware version requirements for their custom ROM - the version will be the actual MIUI version in which the vendor and firmware files were updated.
Where a ROM doesn't specify vendor and firmware and doesn't have an OSS vendor, then it normally implies that any version will work that is from MIUI based on the same Android version. In this case use the most recent version, which you will already have if you've kept up to date with MIUI updates.
When installing a new ROM, you will only need to flash vendor and firmware files if your current version is less than the required version of the new ROM.
