This is an unofficial Pie build for the Galaxy S3 (i9300) based on Dotos 3.1
What is working:
Boots
Audio (playback && recording)
Bluetooth
Graphics
Camera (photos only)
Sensors
RIL (SMS, mobile data, calls)
Wifi

Video playback (HW/SW)
What is not working:
Video recording
HW video playback might be not working for a certain video codecs types

Thread cleaned due to some of topic posts. If anyone finds something not according to XDA Forum Rules, this must be reported and not discussed publicly.
This is by far the smoothest android pie rom I have tried for my galaxy s3 and is really stable. The only major problems I have are that the backlighting on the hardware keys do not light up and that whenever I press lock it doesn't actually lock the phone I can still see a black light shining and it turns itself back onto the lockscreen after 30 seconds or so.

What about crashing, random restarting, battery draining, overheating... and all other issues with 9.0 ?

No crashing or random reboots or overheating so far all seems good it's just that I can't lock my phone and wifi disconnects sometimes so I have to restart. Also turning on airplane mode forces system UI to reboot and go black and wake up on lockscreen.

Battery life seemed great although I am not running this rom currently and I haven't tested screen on time since I don't use it as a daily driver, will be reflashing the updated version of this rom to test it out and see the improvements made.

So far I have found only one error. Camera settings- when clicked, app get crashed.

No. It is just a good step forward.
Device overheat still.
and right now I discovered black screen when you attach it to pc via usb
Not stable for daily use.

Why don't you try Magisk.

Magisk 19.2 works fine on this rom, only problem I have is slight overheating and I was also wondering if there was any way to port the Pixel 1 camera gcam port for a arm processor on the Galaxy s3 since it's only 32 bit if it's possible that would be amazing and the camera would feel a lot better, unless there is a alternative could someone please link me the latest gcam apk that works for the Galaxy s3 with no issues if possible, thanks.

So first impressions: installation on helium (after installer and kernel config was modified)
- installer went without problems
- initial setup wizard went well, asked for both sim cards and configured them, wifi 5ghz ac connected without problem, google happily restored all 175 apps from backup, fingerprint was created and works correctly with pin
- room looks like typical LAOS with blue on white settings
- settings informs that it has march 2017 security fixes
- SELinux is enforcing
- dark settings theme is available in display menu
- there is, in settings menu, a "Configuration" huge menu with different settings to change
- a bug with camera, in 4k recording starts, but there is no counter and stopping recording immediately exits camera app (I did not make any changes to build.prop, only patched core control)
in 1080p counter shows for a second, disappears and nothing else happens, same happens in 720p, other camera apps don't work either (google camera, cinema fv-5, lgcamera, open camera)
- even with "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" in build.prop, recording is still broken
- gps works correctly, as do flashlight
- LTE data works on both sims (can't test VOLTE, my network does not allow it)
- Substratum works, very nice effects with semi-transparent theme
- battery life is good (at least the deep sleep and idle parts), idle power use seems to be about 13mA
I will be updating with further progress and tests
- while Substratum works, main settings page can't be modified with semi transparent background
- benchmark scores are like other LAOS roms (at least with my governor/core control modifications)
- Vulkan support is present

Thanks now everything is working.Using harfix kernel battery life is awesome but anyway can we enable core control here?BTW had to disable some system app like supersu, adaway cos i don't use them and gallery is buggy so I disable it.Overall a good rom.Thanks op.

Is the fix in kernel image or in framework/.so file? Because after your fix and flashing Harfix, camera is not working.

i got no problem after flashing same thing as you but i am on hydrogen
Camera issue on Helium is fully fixed on default and Harfix kernel by flashing ajsmsg78's fix https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767140419
It replaces kernel so to use it with Harfix, it must be flashed over after installing the fix.
This also fixes 30s bug.

What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.

Installation:

Update: TWRP 3.0.2-0 tested and works!

3. Boot in TWRP by holding Vol Up+ Vol Down at the same time when device turned on
4. Do a normal or advanced wipe in TWRP, as you wish.
5. Click install and select first ROM, then Update and Gapps
6. Swipe to install an wait!
7. After installation, reboot, set it up, then go back to TWRP and install PlayStoreFix.zip

NNNOPE. This is the first custom rom, I think where 720 60* works on youtube with no problem. The only bug is that lock screen bug, and just that double-tap to wake doesn't work. That is it.

What you mean by "text screen blocking the rom"? CPU has not been tested, because I'm going back to emui because I need a daily driver, and this rom is still not. I'm working on that fix, but I don't know where to start, because on all roms that I developed for other device I didn't occured this issue. I saw @haky 86 had this issue/or close on one of his roms.
Battery consumption is great, just drained 5% in 40 minutes of just being into home screen and middle brightness, because if I lock the screen "bye bye".
@XTutorials i think the bug with deep sleep may be same as in AICP so i think you can try flash fix from AICP thread.

hmm... Interesting idea, but I'm already restoring to EMUI. Can someone test this for me, please?

Working on brightness issue.
For screen color I already mentioned the temp fix. It only happens when we reboot. Otherwise ot works normal.
Thanks for the rom, it is working as expected but with some hardware incompatibility. Is it made from sources or did you port it from other devices like redmi note 4?

Screen color happened to me from simple screen off screen on not from reboot...

Happened to me as well work around is the same as of now.

keyboard only work with some apps and battery life is not good but rom very smooth, sd card is not mounted too

RIL works with the exception of data.
Tested it on G530H XCU. Here are the things I tested and found out so far.
- Wi-Fi, works. Bluetooth dosen't. Keeps turning off and on again and again by itself Didn't tested RIL.
- Performance is not bad. RAM is ok. Although there are some random freezes. Browsing through system and animation is super smooth.
EDIT - Forgot to mention, The rom became silky smooth after 2 hour. Now its like S8.
- There are some random reboots and deadlock too while charging and screen off.
- Wallpaper is impossible to change. Wallpaper scalling app freezes to reboot (for most time). Storage permission keeps turning off by itself. Had to use a 3rd party app to change wallpaper.
- SD Card dosent works.
- Battery is not great.
- Camera dosent works.
- Setting is messed up. There are two battery section. One of them is the working one. And the other one is glitched battery menu with showing that battery is on max saver mode while its not and the phone dosent goes to max saver mode either.
- A feature called Direction Lock (found under Accessiblity menu) has problem. It force closes when setting one. This also messes up security lock too. Setting up the direction lock puts the lock even on security lock page (while the lock is not even turned on) and putting the lock force closes the lock menu. This makes setting pin or pattern lock impossible to set. (*ALTHOUGH - I don't know if its a problem in general)
- Gallery album dosen't shows photos from DCIM, screenshots or from anywhere. Photos does shows up taken from different roms. But these dosen't shows in album.
-GPS dosen't works. Turns on but dosen't shows location.
Searching for more. Attached alot of screenshot. I had more.. but cant post more than 20 ss on xda labs (despite adding less.). BTW i wrote the entire comment on the rom and the battery dropped from 40% -> 28%.
Edit - The rom is super smooth now. Really. Just waiting for remaining bugs to be fixed and ill be switiching here. Animation is super smooth and awesome!

It's the just the kernel that's problematic. Clydeven's TW N kernel fixes these issues but unfortunately breaks wifi.

It is? I tried his latest 6.1 (or something) verison of the rom and wifi did worked on my xcu. Maybe it dosent on others.

Mic is working on recorder but in a call it is not working
Here are some minor bugs which i found till now ,some as RR bugs i think
1) Switching camera to video mode or front camera freezes the app. And using other camera gives some error.
2) while playing YouTube videos in landscape ,swiping from button or top doesn't bringup status bar and navigation bar. I think its RR source bug.
3) Sometimes phone doesn't turn on by pressing power button once ,have to do it twice.
4) Sometimes after unlocking, phone doesnt respond to touch (on lock screen only). Works next time i turn on screen.
Sorry I'm providing bugs without logs. I will soon provide logs aswell.

For me its working fine. Maybe try disabling ok google detection.

Yes you can just make sure you clean flash. Wipe data,cache,system.

Can confirm, changing to landscape or video mode crashes the app. Switching to QR camera works but after you quit it crashes saying it can't connect to the camera.
It there a better camera out there? I saw some Xperia camera mods but most seem to be for other models. I only see one mention of using GCam but the version they used didn't work.

A problem I've had is my icons on the home page have reset to default a few times. I've set it to locked now and nothing has changed so far.
Do I seriously get to keep this phone for even longer?? :victory::victory:
Amazing. Might be time to pick up a new back glass plate to replace the broken one.

As for me, I have been switched to Ressurection Remix Pie from Carbon Rom 6.1 this morning and I haven't seen serious bugs that affects daily usage but it's too early to decide. I have just observed some bugs that;
1. Offline charging (The Screen Does not turn OFF!..)
2. Front Camera (all camera apps crash on front camera)
3. Video Camera Setting (Not working on Stock - Working on 3rd party apps)
4. Some apps crashes instantly (but not often, rare)
5. Sound Effects (Mixer) are not working.
Despite of these these problems, the software runs smoothly and effectively. Pie is worth all these dev's efforts to test

For me also it happened just 4-5 times. And no touch response only once.
