Anyone know where I can get the dual SIM plus dedicated microSD slot version? - LG V40 Questions & Answers

Basically, that's my question. Other posts talk about the hybrid version but I need the one where I can use two SIMs and the microSD at the same time. I know it exists, according to LG and GSMarena, but I can't find it to buy. It looks like the Australian version MAY be dual SIM plus dedicated microSD, although I haven't had that confirmed, but so far I haven't been able to find an Australian shop that ships to the US.
Anyone know where I can get one? Ebay hasn't been any help either.

There isn't one. The AU/NZ version is hybrid dual SIM too.
Global Dual SIM versions are all LM-V405EBW.

Thanks. OK, I'm going to have to give up on the V40. If I really want the dual SIM plus microSD, I'm going to have to look closely at the new Asus Zenfone 6. Only LCD and no wifi but life is full of having to make difficult choices.

Do they sell the dual sim version at best buy?

I'm a bit confused with that. Wondering how many have purchased from best buy?

As far as I know the dual sim is not available at all at best buy.
Even on the Motorola US page you cannot order the dual sim. The first one I ordered from Motorola directly in the US had just one sim slot, so I sent it back.
The one I ordered in Germany has the dual sim. Funny is that both models were shipped from the same location in China
The dual sim model is not avaiable in US.

Convert F8131 to F8132??

Hi,
do you think it's possible to convert a single sim to dual sim, like it is for example with the Moto X Play? Of course the image needs to be adjusted to the smaller flash in the single sim version.
In my country dual sim is only available via non official and expensive dealers.
Cheers

I'm not saying it's definitely not possible, but since u haven't bought it yet and u want a dual sim, my opinion is get an imported one maybe from ebay or somewhere else, not sure if that's much more expensive for u though.
Also single sim only have 32Gb internal storage and dual have 64Gb
If there will be custom roms for this device, does will F8132 (dual) roms work on F8131 (single)? (i mean only with SIM1 working)

Is there a dual sim version ?

Hi,
I am looking to change my xperia X Compact to XZ1 Compact, but i will need in a few month a dual sim phone.
Is there a dual sim version on the XZ1 Compact, or do i have to buy the XZ1 ?
Thanks
There is a version. I saw it in the Wondamobile store, and on eBay. Probably is only available in Asian markets, so you will need to use a reseller like the ones mentioned. Make sure you chose one that accepts Paypal and returns, to be safe. The only problem is that it also has only 32Gb and an hybrid tray (you need to chose between 2nd SIM or SD card), which I find insufficient nowadays. If it came with 64Gb of storage it would be mine already.

I highly doubt it, there's been misinformation all over the place about a dual sim variant, but to date no proof can be found from official sources.
Some rumors claim that a dual sim variant was in the works but cancelled at the last minute.
Chances are the specs you saw listed in the store and on eBay are false.
FWIW, only one model number (G8441) is listed under the XZ1 Compact on Xperifirm, a dual sim variant will have a different model number, possibly G8442 given the similar naming schemes of the XZ1 and XZ Premium.
That said, I'd very much like to be proven wrong since I'm also in the market for a dual sim variant.
Thanks for the answers.
I just look at xpericheck.com, and there is actually only one version for the XZ1 Compact.

Note 8 Question - Snap or Exynos?

Hi there,
This might be done to death but here goes - i currently have a single sim Three (unlocked) that has the exynos chipset, since i go over to the states alot, i want to get myself a dual sim Note 8 so i can use an American number with my UK number without having to annoyingly keep switching over or have 2 different phones.
Obviously dual sim means no microSD, so far i only seen Eqynos variant 64gb but elsewhere seen a Snapdragon variant 128gb which is tons more useful, in real life usage (especially coming from a S7 Edge) will i see much of a difference? Has Snapdragon caught up nowdays?
Also how easy isit without tripping anything that will disable Samsung/Android Pay to flash Carrier (Three) onto my unbranded Note 8? Mainly if i get rid of Three Note 8 phone, i lose access to 4G Super Voice which kinda sucks.
Thanks for the help
Obviously dual sim means no microSD,
Not obviously, you can DIY your SD card, just combine your SIM and SD to one, please do search, it's working well.
Thanks.
I was in the same dilema as uk samsung only sell the 64gb dual sim. Went and bought the 256gb sn9500.... no problems at all. Even using samsung pay without issue.
It is dumb that they won't allow more Ryan 64gb for uk market.
Also using the dual sim and sd card.... is probably a bit risky as the sim tray is so flimsy.
I used dual sim and sd on my axon 7 without issue... but the note 8 i think will be a bit risky.

Australian Telco note 9 dual SIM functionality

Hi all,
I've signed up for a note 9 plan since my new job allows allowance for work mobile. However the sim tray is not hybrid at all(the second sim slot can only for micro sd card) . I've managed to cut the SIM so that it fits into the second slot, however unable to get this to work.
The SIM works fine if it's plugged into sim 1 slot. Has anyone got any solutions to this? Any input would be appreciated

Sounds like you device is of the single-SIM variety.
Even if you bought a dual-SIM Tray to use,it will be of no benefit, you have a single-SIM phone.
Flashing firmware that works on known dual SIM phones will not do it either, many have tried various things, the functionality simply isn't there (presumably a hardware issue,it's simply not there).
FWIW,I tried a dual-SIM Tray on my US (T-Mobile Note 9),& nada. I knew what to expect going in,but, had to quash the slight bit of false hope.
The Exynos single SIM Note 9's are the same.

That's quite disappointing, it was one of the reasons why I got Samsung phone after all..
All of Samsung's Webpage indicates that all note 9s are capable of dual SIM functionality. I guess I should have double checked with Telco to see if they have locked the Dual SIM functionality..
Appreciate your input tho man. Cheers

I've never seen anything stating all Note 9's are capable of Dual-SIM functionality, but, I'm in the US, where Dual-SIM phones are the exception vs the single SIM variety.
The only phone that I'm aware of that has Dual-SIM capabilities, but, ships with both Single-Sim and Dual-SIM firmwares is the OnePlus 6T.
You could try a Dual-SIM tray & flashing a SIM-Free firmware that's known to work on Dual-SIM phones to find out with certainty.
The trays are cheap enough, I got mine from eBay for less than $10 USD.
I hope I'm proven wrong, but honesty, I'd keep my expectations low.
Please keep us posted on your outcome.
