P20 Pro rollback? - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

I updated my C782 to 9.0.0.282 and as it's not officially released by Huawei, SafetyNet has failed and my apps are no longer updating in the play store, Google Pay is also not working.
Can I roll back to Oreo using CLT-L09C782B159 (8.1.0.159) and then upgrade it back to .255?
I don't particularly want to brick it by trying to go straight back to .255 from .282.

Use Hisuite's system recovery.

Play protect certified SOLVED

A few months ago my bank app locked me out of the zelle side to make payments, no one with the bank could tell me what's up. Zelle said have to contact bank. It looks like its related to play protect certified phone. I just reverted to cf274s marshmallow and found my device is not certified. I cannot update all apps either on this ROM. Now I don't regularly use the 3 apps that won't update, my Verizon, chrome and one more. But was hoping to keep volte and WiFi calling into next year for this turbo. I then went back to latest Oreo build and kernel its still shows not certified. Is there a way to make the turbo certified? Thanks for the help!

Ah, sorry.
You are new in the Android world?
Magisk is the most used rooting solution.
You also need TWRP to install it and the drmfix later.

Luckily you can't mess your phone.
But at the moment you would need to downgrade to OREO and use xperifix to reactivate your camera after unlocking.
Then you can update back to PIE.
downgrading requires a phone wipe.
You could root I first and upgrade with titanium backup or you backup only your media data on the internal and external sdcard.

Your welcome.
Root is possible.
But for a working camera you would need to downgrade to OREO, apply xperifix, use your camera one time and upgrade back to PIE.

Ahh,now i understand it better. Now all i need to do is find one of you clever guys to assist me when i decide to root my phone. For now im happy with mine as is,i would just like it if Sony had made it possible to change the font style and i would love to get rid of some apps that i dont need or want such as AVG.

At least you can deactivate the apps.
On PIE I heared, you can use substratum and Andromeda for your font.
But with root, you can remove the apps and change your font like hell. :silly:

Yes,i know with root it all becomes possible and easy to do. But coming from a rooted Z5,i am very worried about the DRM keys and functionality. When i rooted my Z5 (with help) functions like Super Vivid Colour etc that were lost with DRM,once restored just never seemed to me to be as good as before i rooted.

Roll back is there as long as you're not on the Beta version of Android Pie.
Rolled back from PIE 8.0 just seems a little better, until they sort the bugs out in PIE.

It'll show up in System Updates for you in a few days, it is currently in a staged roll out. If you don't want to wait and want to use the Official Updater, VPN to Hong Kong and the updater will show the update.

You can upgrade using the full zip by copying to the root folder of your storage and performing local upgrade, then you need to flash TWRP and root again. People on the stock rom can just download and install the OTA (smaller) update.

Bootloop or will stop on Samsung logo, either way it's a soft brick...
ODIN will fail while flashing leaving you with an unusable phoned until you reflash the correct Android 10 firmware with a compatible bootloader.
Only way you might get around this is by unlocking bootloader and rooting phone but that brings it's own bag of cats to worry about...
