RCS now available on TMobile 7 Pro - OnePlus 7 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Looks like RCS is working on the TMobile 7 pro. I have the chat option available in the stock messaging app and just tried it with my wife's TMobile 6T and it's working great.

Nice! Hope mine updates soon

Anyone know if this will come to the unlocked version purchased directly through OnePlus that I am using on TMobile? Would really love to have RCS on the international version! Anyone know how?

I'm on the international unlocked version using it with the US Tmobile network. RCS is not available currently.

Don't get your hopes up. The state of RCS is terrible for 3rd party phones right now

It never came to the unlocked 6T, only the T-Mobile version 6T running the T-Mobile software received it.

I switched from my unlocked Pixel 3 XL to the T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro. Sorry to say but RCS won't work on any unlocked device unless you are a Pixel user on Project Fi. My friend, who has a T-Mobile S10+ and uses Google messages, didn't know that he had RCS until I asked him to switch back to the Samsung stock messages app and text me. As soon as he did that, BOOM, we could send huge files to each other and we could see the typing indicator.

I wish that Google messages app worked for RCS. When I first installed it there was an option in the settings for chat but I went back and it disappeared.

It's working for me in the Google messaging app now. I set stock as my default and sent a couple of rcs messages then went back to Google as default. It had chat features enabled this time. Not sure if using on stock activated it or what, but I'm so glad to finally have it working.

I have the t-mobile version on t-mobile.
Get this.... I just went in and it was disabled again. Said unsupported by carrier. Repeated my steps with stock messages and went back to find it enabled again. I don't know WTH is going on. Not confident it'll be working later when I check.

I've been having the same issue.

Mine is working fine.
Tested my 7pro and my wife's LG G8
But to be honest I really don't see the need for such a feature.

Is it working fine using Google messages?

Noticed the chat options are available for me in oneplus messages. Can't get them up on Google messages. Sucks becuese I like Googles but I'll switch to oneplus. My gf has a 7 pro so it will work with her. I wish all these damn carriers and companies could get on board with this. It's laughable how long imessage has been in use and we're still on sms.

I don't use Google messenger.

Just tried with my girlfriend and it doesn't seem to work. Granted I'm not there making sure she did everything right lol I'll check it out tonight.

Unlocked version wifi calling for Verizon - available now?

Searched all over the internet and can’t find the latest answer.
I am ready to pull the trigger on Note 9 but dont want to deal with VZ bloatware. I know when Note 9 was originally launched, the unlocked version didnt have the wifi calling for Verizon.
I know S9/S9+ were the same but with an update back in August, wifi calling on unlocked version became available. Has the same update came out for Note 9 yet?
I have the Verizon 8/512 version.
There really is not much bloat, like in the past.
4 apps that I wouldn't use, with only the Verizon Voicemail app that cannot be disabled.

Unfortunately Note 9 unlocked/unbranded firmware still does not have Wi-Fi Calling when using Verizon. This is true even on the latest Pie beta. It's something I am actively tracking. For the tech folks in the room, it's turned off in customer.xml.

Yes. My Note 9 is Verizon branded.
If you are looking for Verizon Oreo, I believe it is in this OP. I believe the patched version of odin must be used.

pie for lg v40 at&t.

At&t just released pie for lg v40. It's very surprisingly that Korea haven't released pie yet and two companies released pie for v40.hmmmmm I hope pie for v30 comes in June
Where did you see that 9.0 Pie info, that might make me keep this brand new one, unbox and try it.
My wifes phone got the update but I have not yet. And I have some disabled apps. Anywhere I can download a manual update yet?
Did anyone who got the AT&T Pie update notice the size of it?

At the end of my rope, please help with call screening

So I have a pixel 4 XL, my carrier is firstnet and or AT&t. I have used my pixel 3XL before with firstnet in AT&t, and had no issues with call screening. For whatever reason, call screening is not even available in the options for this device. It is one of my favorite features and it is driving me insane that I cannot activate it. I have tried uninstalling my phone updates reinstalling them, I have done multiple factory resets on my device. I have contacted Google customer support and they informed me that it had to be the carrier's fault. I contacted my carrier and they said they don't have anything to do with call screening.
Any help would be much appreciated. I've tried and exhausted all of my options. Thanks in advance for any help.
Also, the phone was purchased from the Google store is an unlocked device. I am located in the United States.

I've had the same problem with my Pixel 3 XL on FirstNet for over a year. I've submitted numerous tickets over that time with Google support and nobody can figure out the problem. And I honestly don't think they care to try.
Do you have a Google work or school account on the phone? Call Screen could be tied to the "new" assistant, which is only available on phones that only have "standard" gmail accounts...

LG G8 ThinQ can't reconfigure APN settings

I bought an unlocked Sprint G8 phone on Ebay and I have been using this mobile company called Red Pocket on all of my phones and have had little to no issues using their GSM sims until now. The problem I'm having is that I can make phone calls but I can't edit the APN setting to get data as they're all grayed out. I contacted both Red Pocket and Sprint and they both told me that the problem is on my end not theirs.

What kind of speeds are you getting on LTE? I just went through this myself, at first it was showing 3g but I was able to get it to show lte after switching some settings on the phone, thing is I'm getting much slower speeds than I did on my previous phone and I'm pretty sure I'm not actually getting lte speeds contrary to what it says.
Hey guys, I'm having the same issue. The app was able to add a new APN, but there are two others I can't get rid of, even if I reset the network settings with the SIM card removed. I can't seem to get it worked out to where I only have one APN configuration. Can anyone explain how they worked it out?
Can someone confirm that the MyNewAPN_test.apk app still works? When i try to add a new APN, i dont get a keyboard so i cant type.

New Pixel 5 owner in Canada: How do I trick the phone into thinking it is a USA phone

New Pixel 5 owner in Canada: How do I trick the phone into thinking it is a USA phone? I want the Hold For Me feature so badly.
In fact, I only bought the phone for the Hold For Me feature without realising it's only available in the USA. If I can't get it to work, I think I'll be returning the phone.
Can someone give me tips on how to trick the phone into thinking it is in the USA?
you could try flashing the Verizon factory image. I have no idea if it will work but worth a try?

It should roll out to other places and countries pretty soon so hang in there. Also know that it's only for toll free calls and needs to be enabled for each call since there is no global setting. I mean it's nice, I used it once but not a deal maker or breaker imo.

I have just checked it on pixel 5. It works.
Note: after doing the steps it didn't work directly, I enabled vpn (US) and went to the google play and joined the beta program then it worked.
Im not sure if vpn is needed or even the beta program, maybe I just had to give it time. But it works perfectly, I have already used the call screening to answer my mom calls.
