Aftermarket Warp Car Charger Availability - OnePlus 7 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

How you doing guys. For my OP6 I've got a nice $12 charger that did amazing work and charged the phone in Dash mode. I am trying to get something similar for OP7 Pro. Problem with original it's only one port. I do understand it's 30 Watts but I do need that second port. Also What's up with backward compatibility. I mean I thought my OP7 PRo will use Dash charging instead of Warp, but it's not it's using regular slow mode with my Dash OP6 car charger. Any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat, figured my 3rd party op6 dash charger would at least give the op7pro dash charging, but it's like 1.2 amps I think according to ampere. Just gonna have to wait it out : ). Maybe try a PD one? Op7pro is rated for 15w PD.

The OnePlus 7 Pro supports USB-PD, so you’re good there.

You can also buy oppo Vooc / super vooc. It' fully compatible with warp charge but cheaper.

That's not a car charger.

Maybe this one

I was able to get dash charge speed using a OnePlus dash charger bought along with my OnePlus 5 using the original included cable.

VOOC and DASH Charging Accessories

Based on early reviews of OPPO's VOOC which is the OP Dash charging system, this seems far superior to any QC or even iPhone charging system on the market. By taking the heat out to the actual charger block @ around 20 watts over 7pins it is faster and cooler than QC2.0 and cooler than Moto's QC2.0+.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAS76EZ87dc
Even OP's Dash looks identical to OPPO's VOOC
http://www.oppo.com/en/accessory-vooc-car-charger
I would like to categorize what is available on the market for Dash/VOOC.
(OPPOstyle.com is slightly confusing if it is real or just a showroom)
VOOC Charger: $49 http://na.oppostyle.com/vooc-flash-charger-us-plug
DASH Charger: $19.95 https://oneplus.net/dash-charge-power-adapter
DASH Cable: $14.95 https://oneplus.net/dash-charge-type-c-cable
Combo Cable+Charger: $33
VOOC Car Charger: $49 http://www.oppo.com/en/accessories/in-car-flash-charger
DASH Car Charger: $29.95 https://oneplus.net/dash-charge-car-charger
VOOC 6000mAh Brick: $48 http://www.oppo.com/en/accessory-vooc-power-bank
Would be great to see other manufacturers buy into this system, hopefully OPPO can license it.
Super MOOC is on the horizon.

Oppo doesn't use USB C to my knowledge. But valid point.
20 amps? I guess you mean 20 Watts = 5V * 4A
60% in 30 minutes, awesome. Since I have several QC chargers at home, it will be interesting how slow charging will be with those.
I really want the Dash car charger, but €45 (charger+cable) is a bit steep IMO.
Edit: according to their AMA, there will be no licensed dash chargers. So we'll have to get the expensive ones from OnePlus. Fair enough.

Im hoping all my QC chargers will work fine as well (expecting around 1:45 to get close to fully charged), ill be swapping between a G5 and the OP3 and do not really want to have to keep changing chargers
Its 100% secure you can use the Oppo chargers and works like Dash?

They are not interchangeable as far as quick charging goes
QC2.0 wall charger will drip charge the OP3
Dash/VOOC wall charger will drip charge the G5
Where Drip Charge = the 2.1amp limit of the cable.

Yeap, that is what I am hoping it does. 2amp is sufficient enough when I swap phones. Once I pick the DD i'll use their respective quickcharge adapter
Is there a adapter that works for oppos microusb vooc charger to usb-c dash charging. That would have been great since I already have 4 VOOC chargers but the cable is non removable from the charger.
Actually they are the same thing;
Here is the offical reply on Weibo

DASH is a technology from OPPO just like VOOC .
They (DASH/VOOC) are just different brand.
I'll upload an OxygenOS V3.1.2 for OP3 (the stock rom) as soon as possible.
I've just got it from the OFFICAL BBS in Chinese.
www .oneplusbbs .com/thread-2782858-1-1.html
(I can't send a regular url,cause I'm new on XDA.) QAQ
They are the same thing, but the specification allows authentication of the components. The question is, did they lock out VOOC in Dash?
Well all of VOOC is USB micro for now. So it is physically locked out, but I think you could use the actual charger block with a DASH cable.
Also hope that VOOC Charger will work with DASH.
But since the OP3 started to arrive at customers, maybe someone can test it?
I'm really interested in the car charger and the VOOC bank.. specially if the cable on the bank is swappable
Has anyone tried to use a different USB type c cable, a third party one?
the Oneplus 3 cable is too short for my needs. i will order one soon to try but would like to know first. thanks :good:

Third party cables actually don't work with DASH.. if think it needs time..
Tested the oneplus 2 1.5m USB C and it's not working with DASH charging.. It did charge but not at fast speeds.

i did think it wont work, i guess we all have to wait a bit, all phone companies should release phones with 2m cables out the box lol
Yeah I really want a longer cable. 3ft/1m doesn't cut it for me.
So I got the phone and an additional Dash charger+cable. What confuses me is why are the 2 cables different? Round vs Flat.

For those wondering about using a power bank to charge their OP3

One of the big concerns I had with the proprietary Dash Charging system is whether I'd be able to use previously purchased power banks.
I've been testing my OP3 with the RAVPower 26800mAh powerbank along with the Anker USB-C to USB 2.0 cable.
The powerbank is capable of outputting 2.4a, which produces a quick charge on other devices.
On the OP3, I get between 30 and 57% charge / h (measured using the Battery Monitor Widget app), which is acceptable to me.
It's not Dash Charging speed, but it'll work in case you were wondering.
MI Charger
I have a MI 16,000 mAh portable charger with an output of 3.6A. I am getting a pretty awesome speed on 1 min per percent charge. After charge battery drain is lower compared dash charger.
quote from Android central
"For the first time, OnePlus is including a fast charging system on the OnePlus 3. Rather than go with another standard like Qualcomm's Quick Charge, OnePlus made its own "Dash Charge" system. Dash Charge promises a 60% charge on your OnePlus 3 in just 30 minutes, which is just as fast as any other system — the only catch here is you'll have to use the Dash Charger in the box and the included cable.
Your OnePlus 3 will charge just fine off of other chargers — whether they're Quick Charge 3.0, Nexus Rapid Charge or something else — but you just won't get Dash Charge speeds."
I have the oneplus power bank, I'll see how it charges using the cable that came with the phone.

Seemed like a good choice as outputting 3.6A would be good enough for me. Would you be able to point me a link where to purchase it from? Many thanks.
are you sure the 3.6a isnt a maximum of all the ports on the bank?
usually if they have multiple ports they say a maximum load for all being X, but I've only ever seen a maximum amperage of 2.4a on a port (few and far between) most 2.1a as stated per port.
even then they charge my OP3 at 1.2a using oneplus's cable, same as my s5 beforehand.
there is a great app on the store called Ampere which tells you your current charging/discharging amps

Check my post on another thread,
You can use OPPO VOOC Powerbank,
It charge as fast as at least 3.5A
It would not be charging at 3+amp
Unless your using a dash charger your never going to be able to charge over 2amp using any other charger
Doesnt matter what the output of the charger/battery pack is the phone will never take more then 2amp unless its a dash charger

No offense but this is a flawed theory, did you forget what site you're on? That's what development is for, to boldy go where no one has gone before, so contrary to your belief, I'm sure its possible, can and will happen.
OP3 is only able to charge at 1.5A max with everything except the dash charger and cable, from my tests.

No it is not a flawed theory. The phone does not have the quick charging components in the phone but instead in the charger and cable. Only VOOC and DASH chargers will quick charge this phone. It's not theory it's fact. Anyways fast charging does deteriorate the battery a bit faster than normal charging so it's not good to use it all the time

The VOOC charger is in fact 'not' a dash charger and it charges above 2 amps. So very simply, your postulation is wrong. I took notice that you quickly changed your stance but forgot how convinced you seemed to be.
All of this leads me to believe that there are other chargers even beyond the VOOc and the Dash that can/will fast charge the One plus 3
What's the easiest way to test what amperage a non-Dash charger is charging at? I'm curious to know if some of my Quick Charge adapters will provide 2.4A. I've only done a very brief test with my QC3 car charger, but it gave me 3% in about 4 minutes. That's about what I was getting on a QC2.0 phone, and that's perfectly acceptable in my books.

Huh? that's my first comment lol and VOOC and DASH are exactly the same technology and have their specific patent. As far as I know, it will only charge with those specific chargers since it is not only the charging brick holding some proprietary charging solution but also the cable. I have a USB-C cable that can withstand over 4A but will not work even when plugged to the DASH charger. Now yes there may be a charger that quick charges this phone but it'd be very unlikely that it does exist since the cable and brick would have to have the exact specifications as the DASH/VOOC chargers.

Wish Huawei would have thrown in a car charger in with the phone. Supercharge is great but QC Quick Charge is so common. Heck I probably have 10 each, house and car QC chargers. Even the 5a USB cables are hard to find at a good price.
The best power banks are made by Anker
Huawei has supercharge car charger and the powerbank 18w and 32w. 18w supports QC 3.0 and 32w supports the supercharge. Also you need to use 5A usb c cable.
starts from mate 9 supports all kind of qualcomm qc, shown by thunder icon inside battery icon
1 big thunder - qc 2.0 run
1 big thunder and 1 small - qc 3.0 run
2 big thunder - supercharge is charging

I know it will not be as fast but I can get one for free from oneplus referral points and it would be UK 3 pin.
Realme says the phone is compatible with other charging technologies like quick charge.
I will test it with my Oneplus 6T charger once I receive the phone and of it works I will get another one from Oneplus
Why don't you use the 50w supervooc inside the box?

I need a UK adapter but have purchased one so will be using the vooc charge occasionally when needed,
As these batteries only have certain number of cycles I would prefer to charge the phone with something else on a daily basis.
I'm interested in maintaining the battery for a few years so would like to keep it somewhere in the 45 to 85 range which has worked well for me with all recent phones I've owned

So, you can buy any qc 3.0, i like Aukey

I don't think it's necessarly bad for the phone but I don't trust it either. I have read in many reports it is quick charge compatable and I've heard that the OnePlus dash charge has worked also. I personally have no issue with these slower charge speeds and actually prefer them.
I will use the 50 watt in times I need it otherwise I will use the other ones
There is 2 batteries in the X2 pro and from what I understand the 50w is split between them both.... So it's more like 25w per battery as apposed to a single battery taking a full 50w. I personally wouldn't worry about it and enjoy the rapid charging.

The phone has 2 batteries... Each charging at 25w so it is ok

Not necessarily, whether there's two or one battery, each will need to be maintained to some degree or they will degrade
I always charge it over the night with an old and slow adapter from my LG g4, if I need a boost, I use the vooc One, did the same with the previous huawei mate 10 pro for 2 years and battery is still as good as the first day [emoji6]

I got a warp charge 30T charger from OnePlus but am yet to try it. Ive decided to just stick with the 50 watt for now,I can tell you that my OnePlus 6T charger worked fine, charging at full speed around 27 watt(or whatever it is)
