Frequency Band 28 - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I'm about to purchase a MI9 6RAM 128ROM with the global firmware, it supports the frequency band 28 (700MHz) used by brazilian 4G.
If I change the original firmware for the xiaomi.eu or Revolution OS, will the band 28 continue to be enabled?

My UK Exynos Note 8 Has B32 Support After Oreo Update

After I downlaoded Oreo for my note 8 I noticed I was picking up B32 on my note 8. Three is testing B32 SDL LTE in my area and previously the note 8 didn't support that band now It does. Has Samsung updated the modem to support additional bands in the update??

What is the difference between chinese version and global version

Hi,
I am planning to buy MI 8 and as this will be my first Xiaomi phone, I am a little confused between CN version and global version.
I found: CN version 6 GB ram + 256 GB ROM for $400 (with global ROM preinstalled)
Global version 6GB ram + 128 GB ROM for $450 (I guess there isn't global version 6 gb + 256 gb)
So my main question is:
Is there any real difference in the phone specs (is maybe someone familiar/can someone confirm if CN version have B20 frequency)
What is the difference with official global rom and the one from xiaomi.eu I don't have the problem with rooting, using MAGISK, i just need google apps to work (including GPay) and great battery life
Thank you for your help
I think CN and Global version are the same specs, difference is just software.
One of the difference could be the LTE B20 (800 MHz) that i think should be in global version but not in CN version. I typed 'could' because of that i've never veryfied that so i'm not sure is it true.

Both have exactly the same specs. I own the CN Version and it definitly has Band 20 LTE.

LTE+ problem

Hello,
I have a Mi 8 in Germany with Vodafone but the LTE+ does not work.
LTE works but very slow.
I have root and the Global MIUI 10 installed.
Can I go to Havoc OS to make it work?
Can I flash only Havoc OS and Google over the Global MIUI 10.0.2.2?
Did you check your APN ?
you can find it under settings>mobile network>APN (Access Point Names)
and choose for live.Vodafone or the carrier you have.
Yes the LTE works but not the LTE+. In the APN are web.vodafone.de active.
Mi8 doesn't have B7+B3 aggregation so sometimes in certain areas LTE is really slow
Ok but my Mi 8 never use LTE+ only LTE

It's only supported if you purchased Vodafone Red S, M, L or XL
It doesn't work with CallYa

Question Mi 11 Ultra - Which Version to buy (EEA or Global)?

Hi,
I am planning to buy the Mi 11 Ultra but I am not sure which version to get.
Since my provider (Telekom Germany) uses a 4G frequency the Chinese version does not support I could only take the global hardware version.
But as far as I have read on this forum an remember from my Mi 9 back in the days there are two different firmware versions. The normal Global and the EEA (European) version.
On my Mi 9, I remember that the Global firmware got updates faster and had a few more features than the EEA one.
Since I use some banking apps which require a passed Safetynet check I would like to avoid unlocking the bootloader to switch to the global firmware.
Has anyone already some information on which version to get and if there are differences when it comes to 5G Dynamic Spectrum Sharing support? Either I could easily order the EEA one directly from Xiaomi Germany once it is available or would have to import the Global version.
Thanks in advance for your help and recommendations.

Simply, there is no EEA version of mi 11 ultra as stock, EEA firmware is not official firmware to be released out of the box and it extracted from Chinese version.
I had your thoughts as well until someone corrected me.

No, I think you are confusing EEA with EU.
EEA is an official ROM, but does appear to just be a later global version.
This is the official firmware list: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/star/
Europe is the EEA version.

Are you sure you do not mix up the xiaomi.eu ROM (which is a rather unofficial firmware based on the official China ROM) with the official EEA firmware, which is also listed on the official firmware list for the Mi 11 Ultra here in the forum?

I'm on Vodafone Germany with a CN Mi11U which is working nice and fine, not sure which 4G bands Telekom uses, though.
If I look at the specs the CN version actually supports more bands than the EU version with the exception of B32 and B66 which is EU only....

The CN Version should in general also work fine for Telekom Germany even though they plan to use B32 to increase the download speed in some areas.
But I am also not really sure how the 5G Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) compatibility of the CN Version is since it lacks some 5G frequencies (like 900Mhz) used as anchor bands for 5G by the German Telekom. Especially since my coverage at home is 5G with 900Mhz as anchor band I do not want to risk getting the CN version.
Hi, so Antoine got an answer ? Xiaomi finally released the 11 Ultra in Europe with EEA firmware, so witch one to buy of GLOBAL or Europe model ? What's the difference between these two models ?
EEA is likely to be at standard price, whereas Global can be picked up for a lot less (when it's in stock)

Since the hardware is the same on all of them, why not order Chinese model, which will cost less, imiort it and unlock it 9unless it is unlocked already and flash it with either the EEA or Global rom?

I tried global rom and eea rom and eu rom on my device.
1)eea rom: I did not like photo quality and colours of eea rom.Especially in reverse light, white shadows in dark areas. Because good camera is a must this is not an option for me. So decided to choose between global or eu
2) I tried eu rom, i liked double tap to wake, sleep, ram usage indicator, call recording etc but did not like call sound quality(worse than global rom), bluetooth sound quality (worse than global rom), randomly freeze clicking some applications(worse than global rom etc.) , swipe to turn off etc. It is clean but extremely clean, i could not find some basic stuff like clockwatch etc
3)I tried global rom, i liked its smoothness (better than eu),i liked Camera(better than eea, same with eu), i liked bluetotoh sound quality(better than eu), i disliked no recording calls option, double tap to wake on home screen not working
As a result i decided to use global rom because camera quality, bluetooth audio quality, call sound quality, smoothness are crucial things for me.
I turned of all updates because any of the devices bought before with xiaomi brand was messed up by software updates, elder mi phone, robot vacuum cleaner etc

Is there a reason you need to use the default launcher? If it's about gestures, then with root you can use a mod for fixing issues on 3rd party launcher

Question Differences global rom from europe rom (redmi note 12 pro plus)

I found a global firmware and a European one I want to know what's the difference?
The EEA version is a global version adapted to Europe, GDPR(RGPD) + sound volume limitation.
Global, it's better.
