Good Lock frequently disables itself on Pie - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

A friend of mine installed Good Lock on his Note 9 running Pie. Every week or so, Good Lock modules stop running and have to be toggled off and on to get them working again. He checked to make sure all updates were installed. When it stops working, the modules still show they're "ON". I checked the battery usage and there's no indication it's putting Good Lock to sleep. Is there a possibility that his installed theme, from the Samsung Store, is conflicting somehow? Does anyone else have this issue or a solution?
The only times that's ever happened to me on Oreo was when I'd get a system update, or Good lock updated, but it certainly wasn't a regular occurrence.

[Q] Unknown App Flashing When Toggling Wifi

Last night I was at home and noticed my wifi wasn't on, so I used the quick settings in the shade to toggle it. After a few seconds, wifi connected, and some unknown app took focus and closed repeatedly. After a few moments, it stopped and all was well.
I thought it was strange, so I turned wifi back off and the same thing happened. I rebooted, tried again, and got the same result. I was trying to think of a way to see what was happening, so I tried using the Screen Record function in Gravity Box, which didn't help much, because it happens so fast, and no info is displayed, just a black window that goes away quickly.
I then turned on the CPU usage in Developer Options to see if anything consistently came to the top when toggling. I saw a few apps each time Plume (Twitter), and Maildroid (email) were two of them. Both of these apps behave differently on wifi and 3G/4G (push vs. pull), so thought -maybe- it could be something with that. I uninstalled both of those, rebooted and tried again, getting the same result.
I recorded the screen when this was happening with the CPU usage displayed, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I don't really want to uninstall and reinstall EVERY app on my phone, so I was hoping someone may have seen this before or see something I'm missing when watching it happen.

Thanks for any input anyone can offer!
Do you check virus from your phone ?
I am also having this, seems to be due to 4.4.2 OTA, which I continue to delay as I am rooted.
Mine doens't only happen with wifi change, but also just randomly when using hangouts, keyboard stays out but hangouts min -> maxes quickly. I have tried freezing the update apps but it apparently didn't do anything as I was still asked to update earlier.
Only hangouts? I have that app disabled.in the app settings.
I can't say for sure that being on 4.4.2 fixed it, but I am on 4.4.2 now and it is not happening anymore.
I unlocked my bootloader and did the 4.4.2 SBF, unlocked and rooted. I installed probably 99% of the same apps (only ditched 1-2 that I never used anymore) and I am not having the flashing issue anymore.
Hard to tell for certain if the pending OTA was the cause, but it may have been.

Did anyone notice constant "Searching using GPS" notification after Lollipop update

Did anyone notice constant "Searching using GPS" notification after Lollipop update
Hi guys,
I have Note 4 Exynos version N910C and I have just received OTA Lollipop update for my region. After update everything was ok until the day before yesterday when I needed to change the sim, so it was the first restart after the update. After restart I noticed that there is constant "searching using GPS" notification when I am in the building and seems to went out when I am outside, which means there is some app is constantly searching for GPS and it also seem to drain my battery. So I was inspecting in the settings under Location saw that Yahoo weather which I use as lock screen has reported high battery usage. So tried to clear the app data and voila....the notification went of and everything seem to be at normal. Then I tried to restart the phone and the notification displays again and remain again constant. So now after each restart I have to clear data from Yahoo weather to turn off the "searching using GPS" notification and for my phone not drain the battery. I think it might be some flaw in Yahoo weather after Lollipop update. I did not do factory reset after OTA update so the problem might be because of that.
Just wanted to share for someone who might face the same issue.
I had it on the 910F. Turned off that option for that app. User daemon? I think it was called. Check GPS log. They say by clearing it's cache it'll fix it. But I disabled it as I don't use the widget.
I think that's the Unified daemon which provides data to samsung apps like location for weather.
Yes. That's the one. I have it disabled and it worked wonders. GPS works perfectly, except for that widget.

No need to be rooted. Find it in options. Location. And there it will be with high under its usage. Everything else should be low....
Well that sucks for us that use the widget...
just remember that when you disabled it, you wont get the latest or regular weather update in your note 4.
I've noticed that since the lollipop update I lose the last known position on the GPS. This is used to get a fast fix. So after a reboot I need to go outside to get a GPS fix. Over I've got the first fix the subsequent fixes are sick, even indoors. It's like the GPS is not using a-GPS or Wi-Fi location based services to get an approximate fix to speed up the first fix.

NFC wonky on stock marshmallow?

has anyone else noticed (or is there a known issue) with NFC being wonky in general on marshmallow? seems every so often it just stops working for me, and i have to cycle it off and back on in the settings to get it working - i haven't been able to pinpoint when this is happening, but it seems my bluetooth does the same thing when i reboot the phone so i'm wondering if maybe it's related to that. this is far more annoying though, because i have an automagic flow set up to turn bluetooth on when the phone boots...i can't set up a flow to do the same for NFC without being rooted, which i'm trying to avoid.
bump, this is still happening to me. i haven't upgraded to nougat yet, but just this afternoon i had to toggle NFC off and back on to use android pay (nothing happened the first time i tapped to pay, even though NFC was turned on). has anyone else seen this? it does seem to be limited to when the phone reboots...

Unless your device is faulty, i havn't seen that happen (havnt seen many posts on the forums either)
Try upgrading to the Latest OOS, it's pretty good now and NFC is working better (as in, i dont have to hold my phone as close) for android pay now.

Changes to Device Administrator keeps crashing settings

I know there's got to be some setting turned on that is preventing me from toggling the apps in Device Administrator because whenever I go to it, I can see the full list, and when I attempt to toggle one of them on or off, settings crashes and locks the phone. I have two apps that have been toggled on, so somehow I was given the ability to do it before this hard to find setting was turned on preventing me from toggling any more apps....
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I was getting the exact same issue on my S8+ yesterday. Do you perhaps have the latest/beta version of Call Recorder by SKVALEX installed? With my issue at least, I think it was down to that app, well a conflict between the two versions I had on the phone. May have been coincidence and could have been unrelated of course but removing both (old and beta) then just installing the latest beta sorted the issue, or t least the issue went away at the same time...

Not, I don't have that app nor do I think this is AN app preventing me from adjusting Device Administrator toggles
I Had the same problem in my note 7, only thing I could do was a reset all app settings, that solved the issue

Strange problem with auto-start apps

Just got this phone days ago and flashed fresh new .205 firmware, then configed the phone and installed apps on it.
Everything appears fine, but suddenly all auto-start apps stop auto-starting after phone boots, until I unlock my phone manually, then finally they can start in the background.
What could cause this to happen? My other phone, Xperia XZP with exact same apps and settings works fine with no problem.
Update: app-start turns normal after disabling PIN. But how? Why? Can I turn it on again?
Update: apps stopped auto-starting again after fingerprint(PIN) is enabled. Really need some help here. Smart lock also appears broken, it just shows a blank screen in its settings page.
Update 2:
OK now I know it's caused by a feature called "FBE" and I have to do a factory reset to get rid of it. So damn great. I hate these companies.
