Any USB C headphones with Mic Support? - Moto Z2 Force Accessories

I need a set of USB c headphones/earbuds to use while gaming. In my experience with a couple different 3.5 to USB C adapters, the audio comes threw fine but the microphone never works whatsoever. And from what I hear the Moto Z2 force is fairly picky about the mic working with wired USB C headphones/earbuds as well. But I believe there are some that do indeed work, so if anybody could possibly point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Budget friendly if at all possible. Thanks guys, (and btw I know I'm not the only one checking for the pie update on a daily basis, so let's all keep our fingers crossed it shows up asap!)

Does not support type c headphones, compatibility issues, if you use typec headphones, the microphone will have a chance to work (many times not), if you want type c calls and game voice calls, install zui. (My headset is a moto mx30 type c headset)

Working very well.tested clear

This USB C adapter from Amazon works perfectly for my Bose Soundsport headphones on the Z2 force for both audio and microphone. Super cheap and very solid and well made. Sticks to the headphones like glue

Using a wired headset with mic on type c to 3.5mm jack

Hi, does anybody here have an issue when you connect a wired usb headset with mic using the dongle, the sound seem to not be not fine? I have a newly shipped leeco x626 and i would like to know if my dongle is defective or my headset is just unsupported by the dongle. Btw i use JBL cs100l and coloud boom, both have the same problem. Thanks in advanced.
your type c to 3.5mm jack is defective. even tho you replace and get a new one. it will work for just 3 to 4 months.

USB-C to 3.5mm digital/analog

Have anyone tried to use the usb port as audio output? Thinking about getting one from aliexpress (for testing). Dont like the 3.5 mm port on top as i put my phone "upside down" in my pocket.

The HTC USB-C to 3.5mm adapter absolutely works! Here's the drawback ; The operating system does not allow you to fine-tune any of the audio settings. You can change them all you want, but I think that since a DAC is in the adapter there's no software in the phone to modify it's settings.
The sound is great, but you should have some good headphones that don't need to rely on fine-tunng with an equalizer.
I purchased the USB-C headphones that come in the box for the HTC U11, but they don't work because they're designed to work in conjunction with HTC's adaptive audio software and they are powered by the phone. I haven't tried any other brand of USB-C headphones yet.
Okay thanks for the tip!
As i understand the xz1 compact has the usb audio device class 3.0 wich supports both analog and digital audio thru the usb port. Wich would be the difference between usb c to 3.5 adapters and usb c enabled headphones wich probably would contain the actual dac. The analog one should support audiotweaking tho?
I Will order two different adapters, One analog and one digital and report back here.

Anything to report?
Nope. Ordered from China so might take a while..
I've got a Dragonfly Red USB DAC incoming which I plan on using with "USB AUDIO PLAYER PRO" app. I'll be connecting via an OTG usb cable. This will give me a high end source to drive some high end IEM earphones.
Pretty sure this will work, as the DAC is designed for Android 5.0 onwards. Will report back once I have all the parts and tested.
If that helps, I just attached my USB Headset to my phone and it works perfectly, volume control, muting and everything.

Been using the above setup, and confirm its working good. The Sony audio settings (clear audio, DSEE HX, etc) do not have any effect on this DAC audio output (I wouldn't want to either, and I think these effects only alter the 2.5mm jack on the phone). I am using an app that has direct sound output to the DAC though, which bypasses the android sound resampling process. This gives you much better sound if you have a good DAC, or even one that is better than the on board sound.

Not all USB-C headphones work with all phones that have USB-C ports. Unfortunately, there is no real standard regarding how sound should be configured going out of the USB-C port. It is not even safe to assume that all USB-C-to-phono adapters will work with all phones.
Best is to assume that all USB-C headphones are proprietary and safe to use only with the phone(s) that the maker states that they will work with.

type C headphones

Do Oneplus bullets work with this phone? Are they any good?
Or any other good value headphones you recommend?
Hi, I haven't used any type c headphones, but the headphonejack works fine. If you want some nice earphones, take a look at haylou or qcy. You have a good wireless pair for only 20 bucks
Yes one plus bullet or any other type c headphone will work if u enable otg in setting. The downside is if u dont use otg for 10 min it just automatically switch off.

Any type c headphones which has Hi-Res DAC will work with ROG 3 or else you will get hardware error. Same goes for other audio accessories.
