camera night mode suddenly missing - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

I had installed latest firmware CSF1 with 1june security patch. Had immediately checked the camera and noted there was now a night mode
2 days later the night mode was missing??
Is there a need to activate it anywhere as couldn't even now find it in camera edit settings??

Did that but no night mode at all under edit options

You're not in selfie mode, are you?

Go in the camera's settings and go to the modes settings. The modes can be modificated in there order and can be even hidden. Maybe the night mode is not detached so it will be hidden.

Same here, no night mode option in the new camera. I reset the camera, checked in the edit modes and nothing. I received the latest update yesterday on Snapdragon US model.

Exynos user here, last update was May 2019, and I still don't have night mode camera. Did the whole camera app cache clear / software update check / camera app update check (from within the camera app), and still nothing. What a bummer My Mate 20 Pro takes godly pictures while my N9 is stuck in the stone age....

You mean manually flash it through Odin? I'm not sure if I can find the one with June update but I guess it's worth a try. Do you know how good the night mode camera pics actually are?

Camera failed in mode pro

hello guys, just wanna ask if anyone have the same issue after newest software update. did any of you have some "camera failed" when using pro mode when use Ss 1s or more?
thank you in advance ??
Can't answer that, I'm holding the update.
But I'd be very interested in this as well.
Yes, Camera fails in Pro mode when using shutter for more then some seconds... I think it will be fixed in next update.
Other then this issue, update is working fine.
Yup. Same. I got mine today... i was very excited that i can finally do some astrophotography with is.. it kinda work when using gcam. Before the update i can get less than 3 sec ss with gcam. Now i can get 14sec. But the quality of the picture still sucks... and yes about the pro mode they already enable shutter speed control but it always crashes.

Question Camera Auto Flash Issue

I bought Mi 11 ultra yesterday and I found that in-camera app when I enable the auto-flash option and take photos in dark/night scenarios, flash doesn't work at all, even if it's complete black or pitch black, and works normally when it's enabled. I'm not sure whether it's a hardware issue (I hope not) but I started to feel a little concerned about this issue.

LOL, this thread and responses are a joke. Before starting a thread about help for some app, you should at least first check settings of that app for a solution. Just go to camera settings and disable "Enhance image quality". It says in description that in low light conditions it will turn on night mode if that option is enabled and that is what you do not want, you want normal capture with flash light. Yes, you can argue that this design is not logical, but that is MIUI for you. Still, no excuse for not checking settings.

Firstly, you can be a little more respectful when you're actually trying to help someone and not joke about it because it can happen to anyone.
Secondly, normal capture with auto-flash still doesn't work even after disabling the "enhance image quality" option in camera settings. I don't know if it doesn't work the way it should then IDK why that option is still there in the camera.

When it is easy solution, jokes are with justification.
And normal capture with auto flash works when you disable "enhance image quality". Just tested it myself. Flash turns on in low light scenes only. Try to cover your camera with hand to make it pitch black. It should display yellow flash icon that tells you that it will turn on flash when capturing that scene.

Like I said earlier, It isn't working for me I tried covering by hand and in the complete pitch black room with no light at all. I'm talking about the icon which displays flash with the letter 'A' beside it.

It's kinda weird but yeah I tried.
Most covers protect also the camera lenses and might also cover the sensor or at least disturb it.

in the worst case scenario, backup everything and do a factory reset. then you can be sure which is the issue to your camera.
I have noticed one thing, when I switch to 5x then auto flash works and it also works in dual camera mode but doesn't work in 1x or normal capture mode.

Question Rear camera Portrait mode

I recently buy this Xiaomi 11T Pro, but encounter an issue with the camera. When I switch to Portrait mode while using the rear camera, the camera would freeze at the blurry scene when I first switch. I can switch to other camera mode, but cannot press switch to front or view previous image.
Front camera Portrait mode is working normally. Is there anyone encountering the same issue, and have you find a fix yet ? I have tried factory reset to no avail.

I have no problem here, using Global 12.5.7, if you have alr factory resetted without fixing it, you can try to test the camera to know whether if it's hardware issue or not.
To do this go to Settings -> About phone -> All specs, scroll down to Kernel version and tap it multiple times until an app called CIT opened, the keep scrolling down until you see all the camera modules, they should be rear, front, macro and ultra camera with the number 25, 26, 27, 29 respectively. You can then test them one by one to know if it's still working or not.

I have tried following your instructions and able to test the first three modules successfully. But for Ultra camera, it cannot start taking picture. Was you able to test ultra camera, or is it just me?

Funny, all modules show up for me, the preview works perfectly but failed to take pictures. May be you can try some 3rd party apps like Aida64 to see if the camera still works.
Which version are you on? Global or other?
Maybe see, if theres an newer version camera apk online from the one in your phone. Maybe that could fix the issue.
I don't know how but the issue is gone for now. I noticed that the problem is with the ultra-wide camera, which affect the 0.6x zoom, portrait mode, and the Ultra-wide lens. I have done one more factory reset, then when it freeze, I switch out and back to the camera, which seem to solve the issue. Now it work normally, and I can also test Ultra camera in CIT.

Question MiUi13 - 5x Camera Stability Problem

Has anyone noticed horrible stabilization for the 5x sensor with the new camera app that comes with the 13 update? Used to be able to turn the digital stabilization on or off (when on it caused some weird jitter, but at least the footage was usable and stable). Now, there is no option and the video shot through it is always extremely unstable even when sitting down holding the phone with both hands while remaining as still as possible to the point of beeing useless. Specially at 15x zoom (sample footage included). Anyone else got this issue?
Also noticed that they added an option for HDR10+ shooting and automatic low light framerate adjustment that is not switchable. Anyone know why?
EDIT - Here is the sample footage:
for some reason I got multiple errors uploading video attachments to this forum...
Firstly, I have non of the issues you have mentioned above. I am on MIUI13 SKAMIXM and the app works flawlessly. The only issue I have is video recording gives me only up to x6
Regarding hdr10+ you can turn it on only on 4k and 8k. Not below that.
Okay now I understand, every zoom I start with gives me multiple zoom options. If I start with X5 I can go up to x6.
Either way, works flawlessly

Ok. You mind uploading a sample video in a reply please? Btw if you switch to 1080p 30fps you get the option to go from .5 all the way to 15x in one slider. If you don't mind try shooting from 1x to 15x.
Edit- I'm on the miui 13 SKAEUXM

Thank you very much. I've installed your camera app and unfortunately the problem persists... the 5x video footage is basically unsusable. I'm afraid that my optical stabilization for this lens is broken and I'll need to return the phone for service, fortunately it's still covered by warranty... This is a huge bummer since they make you format everything on the phone for security reasons.

Hi Mate,
i'd suggest before sending it off for warranty to install GCAM and try it out one more time.
is your ROM official? or is it the BETA version?
Also, I've learned that controlling camera in general is not limited to camera app, also the software of the device control's most of it and the app is just triggering the software to activate and do the algorithm of image processing. it could not be a hardware. (while I agree with you that most likely it is). but i'd try every possible solution before losing device for a few weeks or months if you are unlucky.
Also, note that seems like EU version of MIUI13 rom seems buggy, a few issues have been mentioned here and there that are not in the global version SKAMIXM.
I use miui13 EU ROM and have no issues at all.

Yes I use the official update as provided with the phone updater. I also have a gcam installed and the problem persists there too (sample provided in this reply). I think I've done all the testing required to conclude that there is actually a problem with the stabilization. I'll have to service it unfortunately . Maybe ask for a battery change since it dropped to about 4500mpa over the last few months with all the fast charging and the extremely fast discharging (cough cough). Thank you for your time, I'm really grateful for the tips.

I think I have this here too (I have the SKAEUXM version). Up to 9.5 it doesn't shake, after that it shakes a lot.
