[Fix] [No Root] wifi disconnecting ... - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

RMN7 3-32 Global 10.3.6.0
Developper Options:
USB Debugging => ON
And
USB Debugging (Security settings) => ON (you need Sim card)
You need a computer, a usb cable connected and adb installed on the computer (i let you find "how to" install and use adb)
Code:
adb devices
adb shell settings put global wifi_sleep_policy 1
If you want come back to the default value:
Code:
adb shell settings put global wifi_sleep_policy 2
if you want to check the "wifi_sleep_policy" current value:
Code:
adb shell settings list global
The trick is that the default setting "wifi_sleep_policy 2" should have been the one that does not create disconnections but this is not...
Keep WiFi on during sleep: Always = 2 #Fail
Keep WiFi on during sleep: Only When Plugged In = 1 #Good !
Keep WiFi on during sleep: Never = 0 #dunno, not tested
With "wifi_sleep_policy 1" I tryed plugged in and not plugged in=> no more disconnections.

Epic Fail !
Today I was disconnected from the wifi several times, I do not understand why it worked for more than 5 days. :crying: :crying:
So do not do what I wrote above it's useless.
I am on another track: my provider has imposed IPV6 sneakily recently...
I managed to get around their trick by forcing the IPV4 again.
I will come back here to say if it worked.

Success !
Forcing IPV4
12 days => 0 disconnection
As soon as I put back into service the IPV6 the disconnections came back a few hours later.

hey mate, you disabled ipv6 on router or on your phone? I'm having the same issue

I used a laptop on W10 as an access point by having previously disabled the management of IPV6 on network cards.
But now I will have to buy a router to avoid killing the laptop .

are you sure that you are using the "right" encryption? perhaps you have wpa2
(tkip or aes) and the device checks only wpa? or you enter the wrong password in
wep, then the connection looks like it is established, but you can do nothing with it!
just a thought...
yep

hello...yep..everything is entered correctly..as i say ive been setting them up for years..this one connects fine..have all the boxes ticked but cant actually use the internet..works fine on all my other wm units
Stupid question tbh but I see this sort of thing every day nearly..
Your subnet is the same as the router yes? Does dhcp allocate one out to you or have u got a static ip on the phone?
Despite being connected to the wifi access without being on the same network you will not gain net access.
Who is your carrier for cell service? If you're on AT&T, and you've run an auto-setup CAB file for your cellular network settings, then you may need to double check your connection and proxy settings. Usually the solution is to select the correct network connection and NOT try to use your carriers proxy when you're connected via Wifi.
If you ARE on AT&T, then do this... Go to Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections > Advanced tab > Select Networks button. Set both drop down entries to MEdiaNet... for most this will have NO adverse impact (assumes you have a data plan too). OK to save selections.
Now go back to those MEdiaNet drop down selections. Edit either one of them. Go to the Proxy Setting tab. Uncheck the second box indicating this network connection uses a proxy. OK the settings... enjoy non-proxied Internet freedom via Wifi.
If you're not on AT&T, maybe the same proxy issue could be present. But I couldn't help you with your settings. Hope this helps.

hey..thank you for having little think about it..but im in the uk..t-mobile and those settings having nothing to do really with connecting to my wifi at home..except tell my phone it can..which i did..
all the settings are correct...exactly the same settings im using on other wm devices but when they say its connected i can actually do something..rather than on the diamond where it says its connected but doesnt allow me
ive set the phone up identical to another wm6 phone in every way..that connects fine and i can use my wifi ..this phone i cant
Have you tried connecting to a different wifi router, a friend or whatever?
If you can connect there, then that narrows down the problem to your settings, or your router, or the router setup
Do you know anyone else with a Diamond that could try to see if they could connect to your router?
If they can connect but you can't then you could take a look at their connections. Or it could mean a faulty device. If they can't connect either, then this will give you some clues.
I'm assuming that you've deleted the connection and reformed it. Did you choose work or the internet? Have you tried changing that.
Have you tried changing the Authentication to Shared?
Each time you make a change you need to let it 'set' for a few seconds and then reboot.
Can you connect to the internet via Activesync pass-through?
Sorry, that's all I can think of at the moment. If something else occurs to me I'll post back.
Hi.. I'm not sure if this will help or if you already have tried it.
But I had the same problem and the solution was this:
Pres start -> Settings -> Connection -> Wireless Lan -> power mode
Now use best settings, instead of battery save. ( Im not sure if the translation is 100% right. Translated from danish Diamond)
At the start I couldn't load any pages with Wi-fi, though there was no problem with the connection from the router. But now it works like a charm
hey

I have had the same problem Imy phone even should be picked up by the repair centre then as a last try someone gave me the idea to change the leaver at wireless lan/energymodus to the left (best conection) and whala, I have tried it later whit my phone almost on the wirelesspoint to set it to best batterymode but not even at the middle it would do anything, it says conected but no data is comming to the phone, just when the leaver is at his almost left it will work.
Good luck.

-What is set under Start => Settings => Connections => Connections => Advanced => Choose Networks (translated it, not sure about the exact words)?
-Data connections via UMTS or GPRS do work?
-Go and try another router of a friend or internetcafe.
ive checked

[Q] Galaxy S I9000 Wifi error

My Galaxy S has been connecting fine to my home network lately and the connection has always been strong as well. Since late last night though it won't connect. It says connecting > obtaining i.p > connected > disconnected and continuously repeats this cycle. My mates Samsung Europa can connect and so can my p.c and laptop, so it is obviously an issue with my phone. I downloaded WeFi and that has the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas?
Sorry my English, flash a kernel
Which kernal and why?
I had this EXACT problem just earlier when I upgraded to 2.2.
My phone always used to connect fine until the upgrade, and afterwards i got the same error.
Anyway what you need to do is to find all your router settings (you need a computer for this);
click start > run > cmd
in the command prompt type ipconfig and gather the following data:
ip adress: (your ip will be the same as your router's ip apart from the last set of digits (just make sure to make it a digit not already being used otherwise it will clash). 5-10 is a good option.)
gateway: (same as found in cmd)
net/subnet mask: (same as found in cmd)
Depending on your router you may also need a primary and secondary DNS: (generally the router ip)
With the following information gathered, on your phone click aps> settings> wireless and network> wifi settings> and then hold the left soft key to reveal the advanced tab. In the advanced tab click static ip and enter all the information about your router you gathered earlier.
After entering the router settings click and hold the left key again and press save.
Hopefully afterwards your phone will connect automatically as mine did, or just click your router SSID agian and it should connect.
I had the same issue after I upgraded to froyo. The way I fixed was actually just unplugging the router, unplug the modem, wait 10 seconds.... reset everything.
Ever since then 0 problems.
Thanks Johno.

[Q] VPN Cisco connection with VPNC (IPSec): dead peer disconnected

Quoting the post
"OpenVPN / tun.ko / Binary Galaxy Tab"
1. Rooted device and installed busybox
2. copying the tun.ko from the german site to /modules after remounting to r/w.
3. Running those three commands from previous post in terminal
insmod /modules/tun.ko
ln -s /system/bin/busybox/system/xbins/bb/ route
ln -s /system/bin/busybox/system/xbins/bb/ ifconfig
4. Installing vpnc 0.99 and configuring connection
5. Connect
==> Connection would work (green VPNC icon "VPN On" + VPN logo on SGT title bar) … then disconnect after 2 seconds with error log message : disconnect dead peer.
Second bad double effect: the password has been locked on server side after first trial (same result as when 5 invalid passwords are enterred).
How to prevent this "dead peer" disconnection ?
Any other solution to connect SGT to Cisco VPN is very welcome
Thks
are you sure your connection user id and password are correct? sounds like it is actually trying to connect 5 times.
I would think the cisco wouldnt lock otherwise.
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Group/pwd & Usr/pwd are correct.
Connection is working well with iPad VPN.
i know its a late answer, but..
Vpnc sometimes need the extra option --dpd-idle 0 to stop disconnecting.

[Q][SOLVED] wifi stopped working; WebOS wifi-code: 1000

I've been running Dorregaray's camera preview3 for 2 days, and the last OaT 0829 for about a month before that. Wifi worked perfectly. For some reason I can't understand, wifi suddenly stopped working yesterday. It was working fine on both preview3 and 0829. It had intermittent wifi throughout the day, and by yesterday evening the icon wasn't even showing up in the notification bar.
It recognizes the network, but when I put in my password and tell it to connect it just says "Authenticating" and then goes back to "Saved" without connecting. The network wifi is connecting fine with a phone and a laptop, and the LAN is working fine with a desktop.
I've tried turning the wifi off and on again, reconnecting to the network, using a different network (my phone's wifi hotspot), and flashing the latest 1007 nightly. None of these have worked. Anyone got any other ideas or solutions? Thanks!
EDIT: WebOS says "Unable to connect. Try again." Hardware issue?
EDIT 2: fixed. After some Googling, I booted into WebOS, ran the automatic diagnostic at Device Info -> application menu -> Diagnostics -> Automated, and got
Code:
wi-fi code: 1000
After some more extensive Googling, I connected the Touchpad to the PC and used WebOS Quick Install terminal to run
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 up
which fixed it for both Android and WebOS.

Windows 10 , USB Wireless connection failed

Hello ,
I update my laptop to new version of Windows 10, i Pair my Sony Xperia Z3c via Sony PC Companion tool with PC, everything OK.
Now when i open my Xperia Connectivity on phone -> USB connection -> Wireless mode and click on my PC, phone cannot to connect to my PC
On Windows 7 its work normally... Mobile and PC is on the same WiFi network, i don!t know where is problem (
please help me
no one have this problem ?
Hi, I have the same problem...
You need to set your Network Location to Private,it happened with me also,i don't know why but when i installed W10 the network changed automatically to Public and because of that i couldn't connect anymore,it take a while for me to discover that, but finally it's working again.
Not for me....

Mine is still a Private Network and my Z3C will NOT connect -- meaning my phone cannot connect to my computer. It connects to the Network like a champ
There is a very odd thing: when trying to add the wireless device within Windows 10, it asks for a specific WPS PIN for the cell phone. This is NOT the same WPS PIN used to connect to the router...we (Chat Support) tried those. So somewhere there is a WPS PIN for the D5803 (sort of like the default ones used for Bluetooth devices). That's the key to unlocking Wifi access, but Chat Support could not give me any information.
Someone on Z3v forums gave this solution which worked for me:
Run 'secpol.msc' (just type when you click start) and change your network to private (network list manager policy - right click on your network - properties - network location - set locatiuon type to private), reboot.
Hope it works.
