Yoga paper replacement - Lenovo Yoga Book Accessories

One simple trick I had contemplated of using normal paper: if 15 euros for 25 sheets is to much, try using the A5 postit notes. Just stick one on the 'keyboard', write on it and throw it away.
it won't shift place..

when it came to the papers i first tried to find the original to buy but it costs way to much so i ended up buying just normal plain standar bundles of A5 size paper like theese and then i just used a normal paper punch to mke holes at the top to fit the pins on the pad.

Stylus keeps Falling Out - Is it possible to correct ?

My Stylus is now very loose and keeps falling out, is it possible to remove the case and tighten the internal securing mechanisum. If so would it be possible to point me in the riight direction for instructions, and internal pictures.
Thanks

This worked out well for me...
A far easier method is to cut about an inch square piece off of a thin plastic shopping bag (the cheap ones) and put that in the hole where the stylus fits. This solved all my problems and has worked for about 10 months with no further issues.
Saves you having to dismatle phone
wrap a small piece of scotch tape around the stylus. That makes it slightly thicker, and it fits tighter in the slot.
I lost several styli, had bought a few replacement packages of them, before I did this.
Scoth tape worked best for me too. I originally tried high end duble stick tape, but this is way easier and loger lasting. I'm afraid to split this baby open. I have a Siemens SL56 that once I tore into it was never the same.
remove the battery cover and to the left theres two small openings, cut a piece of paper thats wide enough to fit in there and shove it in between the battery and the little black plastic things in that gap. Thats what i do and it's been holding ever since i had the stylis issue.
Getting the right thickness of the paper takes a little guess work but give it a shot and i'm sure you'll be pleased at the ease of solving the issue.
Enjoy
I did something even better IMHO
I skinned my QTEK 9100 and my Stylus...now it look great and it fits perfectly... I will post picture asap
I rang up O2. Explained that the mechanism for holding the Stylus had failed. Resulting in me losing both my stylus's. Ive had the phone since April.
They are sending me a new XDA with the standard accessories pack (containing 3 stylus) Once I send my XDA back. Could be free but I want peace of mind through special delivery!
They will return my replacement XDA in about 5 working days.
I was quite impressed with this service from O2.

Same here with t-mobile (UK) took it into one of their stores, they exchanged unit within 5 days.
the solution IS SKOTCH TAPE!
stylus remedy
same here, I'm okay with taking things apart, but puting things together...kinda risky, especially with my qtek 9100. So I took the easy way with sctotch tape. The only thing is to know how much tape need to be used to roll the stylus so that it will fit in the hole and yet still secure. maybe an inch or less for me. Seems that it will fix the problem. It's kinda irritating because I just bought 6 more stylus just in case. I should have check this out first before spending all that money on 6 stylus (styli?)
anyway, good luck
I'm with TMo USA and they'll replace the unit, but I have to buy the extra stylus because they consider it an accessory. Go figure! At any rate it'll cost me $15 USD to replace the unit (shipping costs) and $20 for the stylus pack.
Little ball of blu tak, push into hole with stylus.
Ta da, job done. Has been holding perfectly ever since.

Which of these Fascias is worth purchasing for me?

I've recently got on Xplore 1.1 and started upgrading my phone. By the looks of it, an O2 XDA Trion seems to be unlikely (availability and also some new developments) to reach my hands. I am considering getting a replacement fascia from eBay but am not sure which I should get and why. My phone works very well with the exception that the stylus is falling out (fixed temporarily by using the paper bag trick) and a few falls left the fascia chipped and scratched. The primary D-pad,call keys and soft keys seem a little dirty but they don't look too bad.
I am looking at this full housing which is at 40 pounds, and this A-grade (does this mean brand new or what?) housing without the d-pad and surrounding keys for almost 30 pounds.
Truthfully, I don't want to spend a lot but I am hesitant to send my device back as it works a treat (ht545 G3 unit so I doubt 4GB SD works but I never actually filled an entire GB so at worst I might get a San Disk High Speed 2GB mini SD later on). I am also intending to obtain a full Invisible shield for the wizard as it seems to be damn near impossible to find a black silicone case for the wizard (without the unbreakable screen cover; I just want to slap on a brando protector like the one I have on now).
So which of those two should I get and what the hell is A-grade?
I Bought a dummy wizard phone for 10$,
It worked just fine, all the part are exctly the same....
(i bought it from ebay , so try to have a look....)
good luck

Well that's a great idea but what do you call them exactly? I can't find such things?

Yep they are called exactly that - Dummy Phones
Granted this is on the ebay us site, but it may help you out. They are cheap so maybe it would be less een with shipping than buying from a shop in the uk.

Good idea but I think the housing of a dummy is glued. If not, then i would be interested on buying a HTC Wizard dummy (I dont like the cingular )

I bought a dummy phone thinking I'd be able to use the housing. Unfortunately I was wrong. There are numerous reasons why the one I've got wouldn't work: it's glued, but buttons don't all work, the mini-SD slot isn't cut through, etc.
If anyone would like the one I wasted my money on and you're willing to pay postage let me know.
Well, this morning I was searching for dummy phones and the only one I found was in Germany for around 30 Euros...thanks for the heads up that it won't work; you just save me from a major headache.
So once again, it boils down to the question which of those two I originally linked would be worth it (I sure as hell have no idea what A-grade means...should I ask the seller or...)?
A-Grade probably means premium quality...

Well that item is actually gone and I found these two off eBay as well...
this for around 28 pounds - original O2 Housing (says "EXCELLENT CONDITION ALL ROUND. LIKE BRAND NEW" so probably not brand new).
this for around 29 pounds which looks like a fake or at least is missing the O2 logo and is said to be 95% new (What's that mean?)
I don't have a T6 which the second one comes with and the first guy will throw in for an extra 2.99 - making both approximately the same price. So is the saving of 10 pounds, when compared with the brand new housing listed earlier, worth it?
Also found this keypad (d pad, soft key, call key and email) for another 10 pounds almost but as I only have one little ding...I doubt I need it.
EDIT: After a lot of thought, I am going to order from the guy above who has the XDA mini S cover (with O2 logo) and toss in 2.99 for the T6 screw driver as well). I am also going to get the black silicone case with that unbreakable cover. I just hope I'm making a good investment. As all in all, it'll cost me around 40 pounds (with the protector and all).
Now the only thing bugging me is how do I transfer the stickers and warranty labels cleanly?

Back cover replacing

About a month ago my N4 dropped down and broke the back cover glass, so I ordered this one on ebay from a german store (I live in Italy) for a total amount of €.53,90.
It is ready to be assembled onto the phone and includes NFC antenna and (I think) the Bluetooth one.
Today it is been delivered and I've just replaced.
This is a very easy operation, only require a n 4 torx screwdriver and a plastic pad (a guitar pad is optimal).
With only those tools and a little care everyone can replace it.
First unscrew the two screws on the bottom, then carefully insert the plastic pad between the top chrome frame and the plastic one starting from the bottom of the phone having care of the usb port frame, it is very thin and easy to be broken.
Once disassembled pull away the protective plastic protective stickers from the camera glass and the usb port frame and place on the new cover, having care to pair the two parts with your fingers, put back on the two screws, that's it, all done.
Oh, and I higly recommend to protect your N4 with a bumper case or something else.
That's a pretty expensive auction. I've seen full back covers with NFC go for almost half that price.

I've seen them on ebay and amazon for that price...ebay had international shipping, so its location doesn't play any part in price, imo. And afaik, amazon only ships within North America....so yeah, that one would make sense to have a lower price. But like I said, there are ebay sellers who ship internationally for half that price

Lenovo Book Paper

Has anyone found an alternative supplier for the paper pad than Lenovo themselves? If so where?
DIY: cut a A4 notepad to the right size and with a paper punch make the two holes
Works perfect
i tried finding the paper size based on international standards but unfortunately no joy. Are there any other paper standards that lenovo couldve followed to make the book pad?

After also searching for the paper size I came to the conclusion that Lenovo just uses a non standard format. I eventually bought DIN A5 paper and put it in the paper holder.
Lenovo paper
Here is a template for the paper.. Just cut it off an 8X11
Walmart sells the paper/pads/pencil for a discount if you live in the US
Updated paper template
I've created a fairly accurate paper template with cut lines and a grid more like the original if anyone wants it.

Lenovo Real Pen Ink Refils

Purchasing the ink refils directly from Lenovo seems rather expensive at 3 refils for EUR10. After some quick searching I came accross these: http://autopointinc.com/ministar-ink-refill.html which appear to be the same refils from the original manufacturer at 5 refils for $5 and a choice of colours.
EDIT: I'll add that I have purchased and tested them to ensure they do in fact work.

Thanks for letting us know! I read that you can use any refill with the pen, and the digitizer will work - I'm looking for rollerballs, and I'll report back if I find any.
Anyone found a cheaper compatible stylus

The Wacom Bamboo Spark uses the same tech AFAIK. Sol I would assume the stylus pen for that is compatible.

I bought a pack of 100 for less than $9 on AliExpress (http://s.aliexpress.com/v6j2a6fa) . Sadly, they only seem to have blue or black. The refill works perfectly. As with all things AliExpress, you'll have a bit of wait until they arrive. Shipping time was 2 weeks to Germany.
Apparently 67mm is a pretty standard multipen refill size (these are 68mm), and refills that look as if they might work can be found at http://www.cultpens.com/c/q/explore/product-type/refills/d1-multipen-refills and https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=node=1069832&field-keywords=d1
Edit-Yup, confirmed with a mini-pen I've got that uses a D1. We wanna look for D1 refills. Jet pens also has lots of options, including Gel. http://www.jetpens.com/search?q=d1
I've ordered some purple ones. http://www.jetpens.com/Monteverde-Soft-Roll-Ballpoint-Pen-Refill-D1-0.7-mm-Purple-Pack-of-4/pd/7802
Edited Edit-The D1 refill I have doesn't work when writing on the book pad. It picks up every gesture of the pen, not just what you actually write. OP, did you have this problem with your non-lenovo refills?
Not the OP, but my refills (exactly 67 mm) work when writing on the book pad. Could the extra mm be causing the issue?
I bought some standard D1 refills from Amazon and they worked fine with the pen and pad. A lot cheaper than the Lenovo refills and are also readily available from high street stores.
The Samsung Note 4 stylus also works with the digitiser pad, the button even works on compatible apps.

I've found the same problem. I ordered one of these Uni Jetstream cartridges, and it ceases to detect pen distance and pressure when you put one of these in. It acts the same as if there were no nib in it -- it will start tracking the pen and 'writing' even when you are off the paper.
I'm guessing the EMR system doesn't work with the conductivity of that specific refill, or something.
I'm on a quest to find a refill that writes better than the original nibs. Has anyone found any gel refills that work with the digitiser?
Firstly, apologies, I can't post URLs as I don't have enough posts.
I found this thread after trying some cheap refills off amazon - and like others, found they didn't work properly on the digitizer with the same problem of light lines appearing even when the stylus was not in contact with the digitizer.
I came to the conclusion that the metal composition of the refill was the problem - if you hold something metal (in my case a small nail) next to the tip of a stylus with a genuine refill, then it messes up the digitizer sensitivity. This would make sense as different metals will interact with electromagnetic fields differently and the EM of EMR stands for ElectroMagnetic.
Checking out refills for the Bamboo Spark pen mentioned previously I found them for sale at Misco dot uk.
The interesting line at the end is "The unique brass casing is essential to the use of Spark, as it helps the communication between the pen and the sensor board for optimal performance." which backs up my thinking.
I have found a supplier in Switzerland (Starminen dot ch) and have ordered some. I will update this thread when they arrive.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the refills I ordered are only €1.19 for 5 plus postage - came to €5 for 2 packs plus postage to the UK.

Thanks coredump I took the plunge and bough the pack of 100 in black as well for $8.86 from Ali Express including shipping to the UK. Arrived in about 15 days and they work perfectly with the Yoga Book transcriber.
A little bit inky compare to the Lenovo ones i.e. when writing a few sentences there may be a tiny bit of extra ink so need to be careful not to drag my hand through it and smudge it. However for the price I'm delighted. I figure all things being equal that those Pen refills should see me through a few happy years with the yoga book.

Sorry I'm so late in getting back to you. I hope you like the refills. As for paper, I ended up making my own in Inkscape and cutting them to size with a paper cutter. This might not be an option if you don't have a paper cutter at hand. I would be happy to provide you with the svg files or convert them to pdf if you want to give it a try.
