May I remind you of the XDA RULES
7. Do not sell or trade on the forums.
If you wish to advertise a product, simply contact us. We can provide ads but you are not permitted to just post it in the forums. If you do, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
The buying, selling, trading and / or exchanging of any item is now prohibited on XDA, in any forum or via Private Messages. We now use www.swappa.com
11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software or commercial services, unless you’re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Encouraging members to participate in forum activities on other phone related sites is prohibited.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
Off-site downloads from sites requiring registration are NOT encouraged but may be permitted if both of the following conditions are met:
A) The site belongs to a member of XDA-Developers with at least 1500 posts and 2 years membership, who actively maintains an XDA-Developers support thread(s) / posts, related to the download.
B) The site is a relatively small, personal website without commercial advertising / links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)

Highly tempting, indeed! Correct me, if I'm wrong, but isn't an official TWRP recovery for the V40 still in development?

I did it on V405UA, you can also on V35 and G7
This is a PIE with ROOT + Working Fastboot and TWRP
and with a bonus I made a clean firmware, where there is no garbage from the mrint or verizon

What's the cost for your time for root etc?

Why does it have to be remote unlocking? This is effectively giving you control of not just my phone but also my computer. How does one know that you will not take advantage, sorry but your thanks meter is kinda low to trust you like other very respectable developers here on XDA.

Well it has to be remote unless you have a Jtag/Octobox on hand so you can do it yourself and I'm bootloader unlocked i watched the entire process from my end, sure i have no idea if they ran something on their end...but my bank accounts and other accounts are just fine...

Just still too early to jump on the bandwagon for me. I'm not finding any official recovery anywhere from TWRP. I'm not desperate for root. There's a natural backup feature, external SD card, so I'm all happy if root never came.

The requirement is the octoplus box being mentioned through this thread. It can be done yourself with the box but you obviously have to buy it and get it shipped to you.

XDA rule 12:
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.
As an addition, developers have the right to hold exclusivity over their work for as long as it is deemed necessary by the dev or freely share it. However, if the work is claimed as exclusive, it must remain as such. No selective sharing will be allowed (ie allowing certain people to use it and not others). Should the dev decide to start sharing the work with others, the work automatically becomes fair game for all to use.
In regards to permissions, same rules remain for this but if permission was already given, unless there is a very valid reason, it cannot be revoked (same applies to major updates on the work). Under that same premise, permissions cannot be denied unless the work is exclusive or under severe circumstances.
In plain English: If you want to keep your work exclusive, go for it. However, if you are going to share your work, do it fairly.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA (including but not limited to ROMs, RUUs, apps, games, kernels, themes, icons, etc) unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

Neah
TPB is still alive, they just changed the server from sweden to Costa Rica.
I don't want to get ban, but the name changed from MOD EDIT: links removed.
It's still not working properly but it has the same features and more important, the same Data as before
Another failed attempt to kill the master of piracy
Getting rid of one big torrent site will only encourage more little ones. Their fighting a losing battle. It's too late to stop pirating software. Is come to far.
I'm nearly sure this thread will get removed. It's warez people, I would never suggest anyone using it, ever

Closing this thread since TPB's main purpose is warez.
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to request, promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community

Shedun trojan as a viable option for root?

I am unable to post links here. The information is on the short wikipedia page dedicated to Shedun.
Based on the wikipedia article it seems to be a fairly easy process to acquire Shedun and it claims to auto root the infected device. Is it viable to infect my device with the virus and then later flash a custom rom to remove it?
I haven't found any other posts on the subject so my apologies if this has already been asked. Samsung s6 edge plus with verizon carrier.

The S6Edge+ is different from the S6 Edge, therefore I find this an inappropriate place to post such information. Moreover, although some root techniques used Trojans, unless the Trojan was specifically designed for said purpose, it is likely a piece of software that should be avoided. If a new root exploit were discovered for this device, do you not think the community would be discussing it extensively?
Thank you.
I don't have anything to do today. I'll see how easy it is to decompile and read the code to see how it works. Our community us dead so it's on us to look for anything

Is SABS dead?

Just sideloaded Android 8 and SABS isn't blocking anything. Not sure if it's me or if it's done.
It's working just fine for me.
Check your providers and manually add a custom one if needed.

It's working fine for me too.. however I think we wont be seeing any update to SABS... other alternatives are already available tho, lets hope they won't get taken down tho...

The app is working well, but the bad news is, Samsung took it down of github. Not sure how this will move on, i really liked this solution.
Just Sammy feeling threatened by their own guns.
@PlutoDelic
It's not just a matter of being threatened; ELM/KLM Keys cost money.
Depending on your organization and use (Corporate Vs. Education/Development Vs. Production), the cost ranges anywhere from $1 to $87 per device per year. However, I believe, in specific circumstances, there is no cost but you are limited to a set number of seats.
What Samsung SHOULD be doing is allowing us to unlock our bootloaders in exchange for our warranties.
Then we wouldn't have situations like this.
I completely agree.

Up to you. I'd at least buy the code now if you're thinking about doing it in the future, as they might become unavailable again.
If you do decide to unlock it and are worried about voiding the warranty or whatever... you can always just flash a firmware via USB method. This automatically relocks the bootloader and no one will know it was ever unlocked. I've tested this myself.
