Motorola one power 1942-1 software update problem - Motorola One Power Questions & Answers

Hello. I'm from Pakistan and have a Chinese varient of Motorola one power model number 1942-1. My device has not received any update after September update.
My question is, that can i flash the updates of Indian variant 1942-2 on my device. Will it be safe??? As the build number of September update of both devices is same, kernel version is also same, only the baseband version is different.
And frequency bands in India and Pakistan are same.
I have added screenshot below, the first one is of my device and the other one is of Indian variant. Please need help regarding this issue. I want to update My phone. Kindly respected developers answer that is it safe to do or not? What will be the consequences.

Bro, i would have helped you if i knew about this but i would recommend you to join the telegram group for our device. All the latest information, roms etc are available on it. Moreover you can ask the real devs and other senior members regarding this question and i am sure you will find your answer. Just join group and ask on telegram. You wont get many answers here on XDA.
Here is the link for the telgram group: https://t.me/MotoOnePower

I have asked Motorola support for this problem, they said that device should run without any problem with indian software but due to user modification they can not guarantee 100% as Chinese varient would not get any update.
Second, i have seen a video on YouTube, a buddy was flashing our current rom to his p30 note Chinese,,, actually the version 8.1 that we are running is indian,, if you google it you will find that Chinese rom is totally different in all aspects,,, I will install pie indian version in some days and Will tell you the results... And if you tried first then plz tell me too.
Currently i don't have a fast connection enough to download the rom.... If you want to do, i will encourage you ???

Yes you can but you need to unlock bootloader (void warranty)
1.download twrp flashable zip file
2.flash twrp
3.wipe all partition
4.flash stock zip
Or
Download indian firmware & flash through cmd

Yo Guys. I got this phone today. want to upgrade to marsmallow. all i see is updates for firmwares that my phone doesnt have.
I know how to do everthing coz of my xperia m2. The thing is i hav ALE-L02C190B130 is the build number and the upgrade doesnt say if i can upgrade from this, theres no OTA coz im in South Africa... I would like to know if i can upgrade from that build number straight to andriod 6. all of the tut says b170 to upgrade.im confused. Shed some light please
I am also from sa with ale-l02 but mine is C190B120.
I have not upgraded to mm yet because of possibility of balong error which i encountered on my previous L02.
I am also am gonna try to get to 6.0 will tell you what happens. just remember to do nandroid of every partition on phone including boot. Cos when you flash these huawei updates from other countries it gives balong error which is kind of a pain in the ass to fix on our S.A devices.
Quick question tho which carrier are you on?.Cos im on telkom mobile and the devices from cellc and vodacom are ale-l21 according to huawei website.
And how did you get your bootloader unlock code?
You also can check for updates using the HiCare app.

Xiaomi mi 8 SE changing from China ROM to Global

Hi there,
I have a Chinese ROM mi 8 SE and I unlocked the bootloader and try to install global ROM via MiFlash tool but failed.
Can someone provide me the Global ROM to install it via this method through fastboot ?
Thank you in advance.
AFAIK there's no Global ROM for this device.
There isn`t official rom, but there is non official, which apparently works great.

thank you so much I install custom ROM through TWRP
I believe there will be more custom roms in short time, device is really among best buy phones currently and I am sure
more and more developers will have it.
We just need a bit of patience.

this ROM is very good, I recommend it to you.
I'm about to purchase the mi8se unlocked with chinese rom.
Is there an unofficial european rom which is recommended and that it came with OTA updates?
I'm quite technical but I'd rather set the mobile once rather than chase new roms every month if you know what I mean.
Many thanks!

dont limit yourself to this being the last question, ask anything you like. Some of us on XDA will not ridicule you for asking stuff that "you should have searched for"
anyways, no. youll be fine. that being said, if youre flashing firmware from a carrier that diffders from the carrier that it was originally set up for, youll need the modified version of Odin.

Have fun ?
Signed up for the beta this AM and immediatly got it pushed to my unlocked U1 on Sprint. Seems pretty stable for a first beta.
who will share the beta link for G960U1
Got it installed on my Verizon S9+ running U1 firmware. Opted in for the beta through the members app and there was an update available when I checked in settings a minute later. I was running a Substratum theme and I just applied the default theme before taking the update to be safe. Seems nice and snappy so far.

Can this work as well on the international snapdragon variants? SM-G9600.
It also is snapdragon 845 and on the latest november patch CSK1. There doesnt seem to be much of a community with the sm-g9600. so thats why im asking if this could be flashed on this type of s9 variant.

As the link you quote is for S9+ (SG965), definitly no. Though, I have the same question as you concerning the OTAs files for G960 Snapdragon.
I mean, if it's the same hardware, I guess it'd be possible to flash a SG960U on a SG9600?

I can't speak to the other versions but you definitely can flash U1 onto U phones. The only difference in those two is U is carrier branded in the US and U1 is the factory unlocked in the US. The only difference in those firmwares is carrier bloat and some carrier specific settings for network.
I know this because I'm running U1 beta on an AT&T branded G960U.

My concern with this is the bootloader. In the 960U/U1 versions our bootloaders are locked and there's no way of unlocking. To my understanding the 9600 has an unlocked or unlockable bootloader. I've been curious what would happen in the past but not willing to turn my phone into a paperweight.

You would have to be on the latest U1 Pie for the beta to work. If you're on U firmware and try to flash the beta it'll have a build mismatch and will fail.

SM-N960W to SM-N960U1: OTA?

Hello, simple question: I've converted my N960W running Android 9 into a N960U1 running Android 10.
I've read somewhere that Samsung can somehow detect when you flash a firmware from a different model, and blocks OTA updates. Is it true?

I've switched back and fort and never had an issue getting OTA. It's weird that some folks are affected that way and others are not.
Honestly N960W is almost similar to stock android, you get stock caller ID & block, Samsung cloud, and security features which are not available in carrier roms, All of carrier rom comes with bloatwares on them as well.
---------- Post added at 07:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:17 PM ----------
If you are okay with Andriod 10 thats fine as you won't be getting any more android update on note 9, so its totally fine even if you not getting any OTA updates

Unfortunately, the stock Videotron "w" rom my phone comes with has some carrier crap (un-deleteable bookmarks and apps mostly, related to different media companies/newspapers belonging to Videotron's owner like an app called J5, Journal de Montreal/Quebec bookmarks, etc.)
The U1 ROM is 100% clean

I was thinking of converting my Fido N960W to U1 also. Is there a particular guide you followed?

No just download the latest U1 rom and flash it with the patched version of Odin here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
That will factory reset your device though so backup your stuff first
And to answer the question I've asked in this thread, I've received the February OTA update a few days ago

Great! Thanks for your help.
Is it better to use HOME_CSC_ or CSC_ when going from 960W to U1?
