ROM Installation, noobie question. - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

So i installed Xiaomi.eu and upon second inspection it turned out to be a less stable beta instead of the most stable 10.3.15.
So i just flashed the stable ROM over the previous one.
So do i now have two ROM's or is it just like an "update".
For reference my System takes up 13.5 GB.
thanks in advance.

If you flash a new ROM it's my understanding it writes over the previously installed software, as you only have one system partition you'll only have one ROM installed on your phone. Not sure about the size of the this system partition tho as I haven't got mine yet.

Ok, thanks. If someone could chip in on the weight of the OS that would be helpful.

[ROM][4.3][ZIP] Nexus 4 JWR66V rooted/deodexed/busybox (with Quick Social) + radio

Alright, looks like I'm the first developer who owns the Nexus 4, wills to create a flashable Android 4.3 zip and decided to test it before uploading to XDA.
So here it is. Android 4.3. Build JWR66V.
Features:

busybox
deodex & zipalign
Terminal Emulator
Quick Social (my latest app) added as a non-system app so you can test it and if you don't like it - uninstall

You might wonder - what's the difference between this version and the one uploaded a few hours ago? Well, the answer is pretty simple: this one has been tested on the actual device and you can be sure everything's working properly.
Moreover, it contains Terminal Emulator (useful app, really) and Quick Social - my latest and (so far) my best app for Android.
You all love Quick Social, don't you?

For me it works great with 4.2.2 bootloader and radio. You can flash it if you want, though.

Baseband (radio) is the second zip. Bootloader not included. Titanium works great. Tested on TWRP 2.6.

Paranoid Android

I currently have HTC 10 and like the phone except for outdoors. I am planning to get the OP3 does anyone know if PA will support the OP3 yet? Thank you:fingers-crossed::highfive:
Yes I heard pa rom is soon ready
Running the new PA rom on my oneplus one, excellent speed compared to cm13. Will love this on my oneplus 3 when it arrives
as far as i knw the guys behind oxygenOs is from PA, so most likely it will also get paranoid android
Somewhere on the comments on the Oneplus 3 forum on Oneplus website, one of the lead developers for PA said it's already well under way. So I'd expect to see it at some point!
In Paranoid Android webpage the oneplus 3 is listed inbthe supported devices so i guess it's only a of time till we get the download link

love this rom but what superuser zip do we use to root? I have tried the beta-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503 and it installs ok in twrp but when the phone reboots it doesn't not recognize any root....
also for others, twrp 3.0.0.0 by megthebest must be used to flash this
Sorry for asking, but is this safe? Or am I being over-cautious?
@GalUnDrux: Did you try SuperSU-v2.68 arm64 version?
source: http://www.lineageosrom.com
mirrorbits.lineageos [dot] org/su/addonsu-arm64-signed.zip
Yea its safe dude, running it at the moment! I ended using SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip and it works well! I did have issies with the gapps mentioned in the OP but I downloaded the latest and it's fine, search open Gapps
Good to hear. I might give it a try soon.
On the original thread on 4pda, the last post from Duffi2014 translated from Russian with Google translate :

Am I decrypting that you broke your M2 and won't continue development?

You can refer my tree for MIX 3, which is system-as-root device.
You have to add "BOARD_BUILD_SYSTEM_ROOT_IMAGE := true":
https://github.com/AndroPlus-org/device_xiaomi_perseus/blob/arrow-9.x/BoardConfig.mk#L13
and change fstab according to stock one
https://github.com/AndroPlus-org/device_xiaomi_perseus/blob/arrow-9.x/rootdir/etc/fstab.qcom#L19

And xiaomi is really a little slow to ship

Just unlock your bootloader first nefore attempting any of this. And don't forget to backup your files too.
You just need adb & fastboot system wide installer, twrp img file and the eu rom zip file. magisk is built in on the chinese twrp so zip file is not really needed.
Can't elaborate a more detailed instructions coz booting the chinese twrp is a pain.

Hello, as far as I know, there is a working Chinese LOS 16, maybe this can help?

Coming back to Android - How to flash global rom via twrp on a magisk rooted mi9

Hey guys,
coming back to android after several years of using apple smartphone devices at work. (was active here when the htc magic was launched)
So far I was able to read myself in on how things run these days. I was able to go through all the hoops, got the device unlocked, decrypted - used a users video guide from the forum here to install twrp for recovery - rooted the device with magisk and was happy to be able to use the apps that needed root.
Now I am sitting here with the first ota update after the flash: MIUI V10.2.26.0.PFAEUXM Stable 2.2G and I am getting triggered by the popups to update (taskbar, icon symbol) - I clicked on update and when I reboot I get into twrp not the stock recovery, seems legit cause he awaits a xiaomi flash but boots into twrp.
My question now is:
can I update the miui from twrp if I have the zip file without loosing my data? would be a pain to setup all the apps again and I am a bit too uncertain to test this now.
best regards
Lucin
If it's the same rom base but only an update then yes..... Meaning global rom to global rom update.... EU ROM to EU ROM UPDATE then yes!!! Just update through TWRP and you won't lose data

Ok - Thank you that is exactly what I want to do - just tried it and unfortunately I get some Errors. See attached photo. Someone can enlighten me?
Could it be due to me restarting from the Update window from miui? Maybe I should try to get the rom separetly and save it on the device in another folder?
