How well does the Verizon S10-5G work on AT&T? - Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Questions & Answers

I've seen that people on here have been flashing the Verizon variant with the AT&T via odin. I was thinking of buying a Verizon Variant and flashing it with AT&Tas well. But I would like to get some opinions first and see if anyone has had any trouble.

I haven't flashed AT&T on it but using on AT&T and it works just fine....

I'm not using it on AT&T, but haven't had a single issue on my network.

From what I understand, you may be fine on LTE, but you will not be able to use the 5G from AT&T on the Verizon phone.

S10 5G from Verizon without flashing on AT&T?
How? I put in my ATT Sim card, get signal but when I open Google chrome it turns into no signal or as if I didn't have a Sim in it. Frustrating.
Did you had it activated to Verizon at the beginning? I heard for it to work elsewhere it'd need to be activated with Verizon for 60 days, then I can be used anywhere. Not entirely sure. Can you confirm?

[Q] Should an unlocked ATT S4 be as good as Tmobile S4 service?

I talked my wife into switching to Tmobile and gave her my S4 from ATT. Her service is not so good and I'm tired of hearing about it. I've tried different modems from ATT but no real improvement. Anyone have any experience on the subject? Aside from wifi calling, would a phone from Tmobile have the same service?

No, they use different bands. You can use a T-Mobile phone on AT&T just fine but an AT&T phone on T-Mobile will not get you the correct speed connections due to the limited bands AT&T uses. That is why I decided to go with the T-Mobile variant rather then any of the others.
I see. Its a tough one. Att is getting so locked down but tmobiles service is sketchy where I am. I would hate to pay for a new phone when the S4 is running great still. Damn. Thanks for the input.

You could sell the phone and purchase a T-Mobile variant of the same phone to run on AT&T or upgrade to a newer T-Mobile phone. The T-Mobile bands work great on AT&T network, just not the other way around. That's what I have done. I have tried the AT&T and the Verizon phones and they both work good on AT&T but if you want all around compatible phone, then T-Mobile phones are the way to go. Just get the unlock code and throw in any sim you want and set up the APN.

[Q] Can you use the S6 EDGE AT&T version on T-Mobile?

Can you use the S6 EDGE AT&T version on T-Mobile? Or would it be better to get one from T-Mobile and use that on AT&T and T-Mobile?
You can but only 3g I believe
T-Mobile probably since they have root and all that jive. But why would you want to have an ATT phone on T-Mobile?
Because I use ATT as well. I think the ATT variant didn't have 700mhz.
LTE worked.

That's really good to know. I saw a video on YouTube I can't recall which one though that shows the At&t phone prompting to do a T-Mobile software upgrade. Of course this is after the phone is unlocked and a T-Mobile Sim card is inserted. Is that true or is it a load of manure. Thanks in advance!

Unlocked sprint note 4 sm-910p on tmobile

Wondering if there are any tmobile roms that work on a unlocked sprint version. I'm using a sprint rom now and it works ok. Just want to be the most compatible with tmobile as possible. I am a noob to using unlocked phones. I was with sprint for 10 + years and just switch to tmobile last week. Thanks in advance
Update- i flashed the the tmobile maximum ovrdrive n5 rom and its working great! Came from a sprint hybrid note 5 rom. Wiped and did a clean install and everything works great. Still no lte but my 4g has gotten better speeds. My new question is im still on my sprint ok1 modem should i try a tmobile modem or stay with it the way i have it?
I don't believe you can use a sprint phone on tmobile. Different network. And as for the rom. I don't think there are. I could be corrected but sprint phones are only good on sprints network and that's it.

Modern sprint phone support T-Mobile and ATT's HSPA network. Heck I used my unlocked Sprint S4 on ATT for about 5 months without any issues. Only thing was that I didn't get LTE.

SM-N950F Slow Network Speeds On AT&T

Hey there fellas! I recently purchased an international Galaxy Note 8 to use on AT&T here in the U.S. Everything appears to work fine except the speed of my network. Normally in this area I would be getting LTE speeds around 30-40 up and down. With the Note 8 is displays H+ (which I understand to be LTE, but I may be wrong) and I get around 5-7 down and often less than 1mbps up. Some have suggested setting the preferred network time to LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) which was already selected on my device. Is there anything else I can do to get the proper speeds? Thanks!

On all of my international versions H+ was 3G and 4G was LTE. Depending on the area with 4G I would get 20 - 50 megs down on AT&T. On my 950U1 my settings under #*#*4636*#*# I have TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UMTS selected by default and mine shows LTE and depending on the area up to 100 megs down.
H+ is 3G, or 3.5G for some carriers

Ah, that would explain why my speeds are so slow. Thank you for clearing that up. I attempted to select TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UMTS as my preferred network mode but for whatever reason it will not apply. When I reopen that settings menu it goes back to whatever option was selected prior to that. Do you think it could have something to do with the selected APN? I have ATT Phone as my current APN, but at the store they were trying to use ATT Nextgenphone, which didn't work.

I would do all I could to get the Nextgenphone APN working. It is what I used on all my international phones.
Took the Note 8 into the AT&T store today and swapped out the sim card without any luck. As usual they couldn't provide any help beyond that. I also I can't select TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UMTS as my preferred network type for some reason. I contacted the person I bought the phone from and they claimed they used it on Verizon's LTE network without an issue. Very strange.

Would you mind sharing what your CSC on your Note 8 is? I might end up flashing whatever firmware your phone is using, as mine is currently running a firmware for French phones. Not sure if thats the issue, but its possible.

When your look for the firmware look for 950U1 for AT&T. I would look around for a thread on flashing other regions first just to be safe.

I may be totally off here, but wouldn't that be an issue as the AT&T variant uses a Snapdragon SoC, while my device uses Exynos? Another concern for me would the ability to root as well, which is one of the reasons I decided not to buy an AT&T branded phone. Thanks for your help so far man, I appreciate it!

You are right. There is no AT&T firmware for your phone. Unless they changed something with the Note8 you should still be able to get 4G. I did with my international Note4, Note5, and Xperia Z5 Premium models. My son is using the Note5 with an Exynos processor and gets 4G speeds comparable to LTE speeds in the area.
Had this problem as well way back when I first got my 950F.
There are solutions. But you would need one of 2 things.
1. Get At&t to add your IMEI# TO their database so that they can provision your phone correctly.
2. Get another At&t branded phone's IMEI# that is LTE COMPATIBLE. and call them to provision you phone with that #.
My phone is getting full LTE speeds and VOLTE.
But I had them put in the IMEI# of my older Note 5!( which my wife is currently using)...
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I called ATT and gave them your suggestion and they claimed that it would not work. They said provisioning my new phone with an IMEI of a different phone would be temporary up to 2-3 weeks. Have you encountered this issue? I'm assuming not, so I'm curious as to how long you've had this fixed. Thanks again man

Unlocked sprint LG V40 good for Verizon/GSM carriers?

Hi, I was wondering if an unlocked Sprint LG V40 is good for any other US carriers? any band restriction? Many Thanks.
As far as I know I have the full V40 ThinQ LM-V405UA network unlocked and factory unlocked version and it works well with ATT and T-Mobile as well with sprint am not sure if it will work with Verizon because as you know Verizon and Sprint do NOT like to support each other's phones even though they are in most cases IDENTICAL in every way.
I did do a check on verizon BYOD site and it says Mine is NOT compatible with there system as I had guess it would say that.

Hi Zxhwk, do you know if T-Mobile Wifi Calling is working and do you get full 4G LTE speed on T-Mobile? I don't know if there are some bands missing for T-Mobile 4G LTE.

I'd really like to know this as well.
LM-V405UA is way cheaper used than a LM-V450TAB!
I'm using unlocked sprint with Verizon network, works fine except advanced calling when you use your data together with the call. Spring uses different technology for that which does not work on Verizon. Also voice mail notification does not work. Otherwise no issues
Can the Verizon image be flashed to the sprint hardware (which appears to be identical) to get the Verizon advanced calling features?

Yes you can flash the Verizon KDZ
Can I replace the motherboard from a Verizon or AT&T LG V40 with a T-Mobile one? I ask because the T-Mobile LM-V405TA can't be rooted and it would be cheaper to buy a motherboard than a whole nother phone.
