z3 play stuck in fastboot - Moto Z3 Play Questions & Answers

I tried going back to stock and now it won't go past fastboot. It won't boot to recovery, it won't start normally. It won't do anything except boot to fastboot.
Update
Got it to start and now I'm trying to remove the verity unlocked text or whatever. When in fastboot every command I give comes back with failed. Remote unknown command.

Did you go into developer settings and tick the "allow oem unlock" ? And allow us debugging option.

I would suggest restoring with the Motorola Lenovo smart assistant rescue tool , it's able to rescue your broken device!

Oh you mean for adb connectivity? You can put the phone into bootloader mode for a fastboot connection
yoh cant connect to adb while in the bootloader, only fastboot.

if you are in a bootloop, and can not boot up to enable oem unlock in the dev options, then you have essentially a bricked device, nothing can be done. if oem unlocking is enabled, you can unlock your bootloader and flash a factory image.
---------- Post added at 05:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 PM ----------
however, you are on 5.0.1. you can still unlock your bootloader with fastboot and then flash the factory image for m.

Think my phone is hard-bricked

Hey,
So long story short, I'm stuck on lollipop, rooted but OEM unlock off. I can't boot into the phone or recovery as it says custom binary blocked by FRP lock, but I can boot into download mode and be picked up by odin (tried flashing but without OEM unlock it doesn't work).
I can't restore using kies or smartswitch as they both say 'SM-N920C does not support initializing' when I try the firmware upgrade and initialisation option.
Any idea?
You have to use Odin to flash your stock rom again in download mode then it will work as you have turned off your OEM so never turn off the oem after rooting....

Very strange! I was trying this all day yesterday and only getting errors I'd never encountered before, just tried it now and it worked

i cant enable OEM option

im trying to enable OEM option in my huawei 5c but i cant enable it. It stopped working when i updated my phone to android 7.0 and emui 5.0 so what can i do? im trying to enable bootloader but i cant do it. I tried to flash twrp but i cant flash it and i tried command fastboot oem unlock (and my code) it didnt work. anyone know how to fix this?
Hello, hey man, yo have to fastboot oem relock 1234567890(your code), to relock your bootloader, after relock, you will be able to turn on OEM Unlock, then you can fastboot oem unlock 1234567890(your code), and, flash twrp either.

Hummm, i never met this before... maybe the HONOR-MultiTool could help you, you have to open MultiTool(first of all, download it) and press Extras, then Bootloaderz then relock my bootloader(make sure your phone is ON, connected with HiSuite and USB Debugging), then choose "i have a code", and finally you have to type your code(ONLY CODE!!) then enter, and make sure your phone reboots into fastboot and asking you to "lock bootloader?" choose yes. If anything goes wrong, let me know, i will answer ASAP.

I've tried to lock bootloader and now I can't do anything.

Well, first of all, sorry for my bad english, I'll try to explain what is happening right now.
I had TWRP installed and latest version of Oxygen OS. Phone was going slowly lately so I thinked that locking bootloader and wiping all my data could optimize my phone. Ok.
Did one of the few things I know how to do, adb devices, adb reboot bootloader, fastboot oem lock and everything OK. When I rebooted, I rebooted into recovery mode, and recovery mode wouldn't work.
I don't know why... So I proceed to boot as usual and do as nothing happened... Then something strange happened. To decrypt data and boot Android, I was requiring an alpha-numerical password when I NEVER had
one of these in my OP3T... So... I tried to do something, but I can't do anything. I don't have recovery, I can't go in bootloader mode, I can't start Android. Oficially I couldn't do anything.
So, I attempted fake passwords (I also tried all the passwords I've entered at some point in my phone but anything) till the alert of wiping data would start. When that happened, the next text appeared in the screen:
Decryption unsuccesful
The password you entered is correct, but
unfortunately your data is corrupt.
To resume using your phone, you need to
perform a factory reset. When you set up your
phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity
to restore any data that was backed up to
your Google Account.

What can I do? When this screan appears and I plug the phone into my PC only detects the drivers installer. Nothing else.

fastboot format userdata

No, I can't unlock bootloader... I've also tried fastboot clear userdata but I can't.
The only way you can recover your phone is to use an unbrick guide, because indeed, your phone IS bricked.
Unlocking the bootloader won't work at this point, because OEM unlocking has to be enabled first in order to be able to unlock via fastboot.
Next time don't lock the bootloader if you're running anything other than stock (ROM, recovery, kernel).
P.S. you probably won't be able to recover your data either

Your problem is that somehow your bootloader is locked if it wasn't it can easily solved by twrp.
I think you're device is in brick state now.
