We can use our stock camera app in custom roms like LineageOS, AICP, DU.I only tested on DU but I think it should also work on other roms.
How to install it:
Flash it with TWRP and reboot to system.

For me Open camera is slower than stock taking photos. I don't know why. Why are you saying open is better? Thx!

As we know moto g5/plus comes with a good camera in stock rom. But when we install custom roms like lineage os or RR
the camera comes with the system (snapdragon camera) is unable to capture good quality photos and we search over play store for camera apps but they cant give performance like stock camera
so i have a solution for this ..............

A mere camera app can never improve the camera quality. Its the camera HALs, blobs, post processing that is induced in the stock rom sources which help the camera realise its full potential.

Actually it is made with 100 % original libs so it can perform much grater then that of snapdragon camera.
Please take a look at camera samples I think you will be impress with quality

So just to be 100% clear... you or your friend used Snapit on the G5 Plus (before you had hardware failures) and the photos from it definitely looked better than the stock camera app?
Or are you assuming they will be better?

Bro just be clear
I have already cleared that the camera can give same performance as stock cam on stock ROM
But the problem occur when you install any custom ROM on device the snapdragon camera comes with it can't give you performance like stock moto cam on custom ROM (and you can't install stock moto cam on custom ROM due to libs)
So this is the perfect solution to get stock cam quality in any custom rom

Hey why are you using snapit instead of stock Moto camera and are these libs of stock Moto G5 plus or of some other phone
Not really that much better photos from the stock app. Camera app crashes and refuses to open if you hit the HDR button. Had to clear app data to get it open again.

Please, who uses EMUI 4.1.x based firmwares on any Kyrin 620 based device, could you check professional camera mode, does shutter speed setting work for you? I myself tried a couple of them, currently on 212 chinese one from 5A, and in all of them as soon as you manually set shutter speed, image turns out black. In exif of the resulting image the value of shutter speed is set correctly, in camera viewfinder you can see changes in brightness as you adjust value, but final image is black, and image is taken immideately, no matter what value was set. It seems like Huawei messed something in 4.1. But if anybody is lucky to have this feature working, please let me know what firmware you have running.

By the way, i tried your patch, doen't help resolving manual shutter speed problem. The cause is in some other libs, have no idea where to look, i think i tried replacing all i can think of.

4.1 is somehow custom like youre rom, from emui 4 (they added volte, disabled other sims, added dts mod, removed some apps, added another, little esthetics)

Why don't you just stay on persona's custom rom if you need that professional things... Not really worth using emui 4.1.3...

I am currently using miui 9 beta rom from Xiaomi eu on my Mi Mix.
For the camera, I am getting really amazing results with the modified Google camera apk, the one with ported hdr+ from the Pixel.
It's useless at this point to ever lunch the stock camera, which is really awful.
I use very often the "double click the power button" from lock screen to get into the camera. This however launches the stock camera.
Is there any way to force MIUI to launch the Google camera instead?

try button mapper... or similar apps from store, no root, root or xposed.. depending wich level modification u want...

I was looking for the same thing a few days ago didn't solve it and moved to ViperOS rom.
Maybe it can work if someone finds a specific MIUI file with the camera path shortcut on it, I have no idea where to start looking ...
So far even button remapper doesn't work for this

Can anyone share some feedback on this app working on custom ROMs for the Mix like LineageOS? With a custom ROM and a better and more customisable launcher like Nova Launcher for example, I think the integration and implementation of the Google Camera HDR+ app will be much better than on the stock MIUI ROM.

I tried that version it doesn't work. What device did you choose from the settings for hdr+. I tried it kept crashing.

its not working bruh ! tried every HDR+ mode but the App is getting stopped evertime I do this.
though if you still want to use the HDR+ mode choose from Pixel & when the app crashes..
1.long press the App Icon
2.Select take a selfie
3.Change to Rear Camera

The only thing I've been struggling to fix now is the slow motion. It says "can't connect to the camera". I've tried basic fixes out of YouTube and tried flashing some fixes I found on the internet -esp. here in XDA but I am still out of luck.
I am 99% complete now on this camera, just the slow motion isn't working. I am using Xiaomi Redmi 4x running Resurrection Remix 5.8.5-20170929-santoni-Final
I surely will wait for your help.

Camera App crashes after making any changes in settings . I have done everything dats recomended but nothing helps .

Are you using magisk root? Uninstall the stock camera first via any system app remover. Secondly, Try flashing camera 2 api module. Then download the modded camera on this thread. Works for me (except slow motion and 60fps video -but fix will be coming soon as per dev.)

Install camera2api enabler module. Then install the gcam attached on OP. Reboot and done

Same happened with me too.
I was on stock rom BTW.
I reverted back to stock media_profiles.xml
But the stock miui camera supports the slo-mo and works quite fine at a speed of x0.25
