Want to find old sony ringtones! - Sony Xperia XZ3 Questions & Answers

Hi guys.
First, sorry that if its wrong way to request my question.
(I'm newbie on xda, and i dont have idea that it is right way or not.)
And sony XZ3 is most up to dated sony mobile phone, and active forum. So i post on here.
Recently i watches a movie named "The Body".
It has sony sponsored and its about year 2011 to 2012 movie.
And i heard a COOL ringtone, but really hard to find it.
Phone looks like sony ericsson xperia neo or play.
I searched whole ringtone and alarm sound but failed.
I had recorded it from movie and post it at below.
(And you guys can figure out how desperate to find it)
drive.google.com/file/d/11xY-qSrdNdf_8mKEJZsvKUOP-9rVYmoh/view?usp=drivesdk
Look forward to find answer.
Thx.

Without listening to your audio file, I can give you some ringtones to search through. This is from my Xperia S which came out in 2012.

Well, at least we tried!
I never owned an older Xperia like the X10, Neo or Play so it might still be a ringtone unique to those models / that era of Sony phones. You can try what I did to get the sounds from my Xperia S:
- Grab a firmware FTF file for the model of phone you suspect might have the ringtone (I had one in a backup somewhere - hooray for properly categorised storage)
- Use WinRAR to extract system.sin from the ftf file
- Use Flashtool to extract the ext4 filesystem from system.sin
- Use a tool like ext2read to grab the audio files from system.ext4 - they will be in /media/audio

Old Xperia Phone and Alarm Ringtones
Hi everyone, this was very helpful to me, as I have a last year model, which is missing lots of the old Xperia ringtones. I found the phone ringtone I was looking for in the zip file above, but does anyone have the alarm ringings as well? Many thanks and all the best

Thanks for your topic, it's very useful for fans of sony , that's so great, you can also access

Could you zip up all the default XPERIA ringtones for me?

hey guys.
Just a simple request to those who you have the time to do so.
I recently installed Gtrab's W4X WM6.5 Cooked Rom but didn't realise it had a lot of the ringtones included with the xperia missing.
I've searched the forums and found the odd file containing ringtones taken from handsets but they are different tones.
Could you please copy and zip all the ringtones from the Windows folder from a default Xperia rom and upload it to the internet for me please
Cheers,
Hyped
I need them too. can somebody please post them?
Thank you
Press me softly....
Thank you for your help, however, unfortunately, these are not the ringtones I need.
I'm not sure where they're saved but there are some ringtones called like Alarm1, Alarm2, Alarm3 and such. And it's in this location I need the ringtones. I think they are scattered throughout the Windows folder admist the system files.
So, could you possible collect and zip these please

Extract the rar file on your computer, connect device via active sync, once syncing click "explore" and your my documents folder should be visible, move the extracted mp3 ringtones to this folder. Hope that helps
Thx
But does anybody have also the ringtones for sms ?
There is one ringtone, i really miss on the ROMĀ“s, but i do not remember the name
Its gonna be difficult if you don't have the name. I used dreamland on the stock rom.

There is a thread or two around here somewhere with a link to all the OEM ringtones / sounds etc. I'm not sure what it was titled though.
It was a rar file and nearly 38mB in size.

IPhone and IPad OS System Sounds

I've searched the threads and found nothing that contained these files anywhere, so I decided to Jailbreak my IPad and pull these files off of it. I mostly did this for the Lock/Unlock sounds because I personally think they sound a lot more crisp and louder than Androids Lock/Unlock sounds. Included are 63 system sounds all converted to Mp3 at 320 kbps. Ranging from alarms, sms tones, lock sounds, etc.
If you choose to want to change your unlock/lock noise, use Root Explorer. Goto /system/media/audio/ui. You'll see "Lock.ogg" and "Unlock.ogg", rename the extension to ".ogg.old" or whatever you prefer. Than put the Lock and Unlock Mp3 files in that same /system/media/audio/ui folder and just rename the file extension to .ogg. Immediately the files should work.
I hope at least one person finds this of use.
thanks I'm sure there are some people looking for these sounds. These sounds are the least annoying to hear over and over
does this include the keyboard touchtone sounds? if so, that is all I really want. that and maybe the sent message notification sound. thanks
EDIT: Going through the .zip now. I think the keyboard sounds may be Tink.mp3 and Tock.mp3. if so, how do I apply those to my phone? in system/media/audio/ui the keyboard sounds are this: KeypressDelete, KeypressReturn, KeypressSpacebar, and Keypress Standard. How will android know which of the two apple sounds to use for which of the keypresses? if that makes any sense lol
I followed the OP's exact directions for the lockscreen and things went haywire, it was playing my ringtone for when I unlocked the screen. May not work on the ROM I am on?

That's really odd. On all android devices and roms, that's where you'll find the lock and unlock sounds. I dunno, my best advice is just to make sure you put the right file in the folder. Best way to do that is just clicking the "lock.ogg" and "unlock.ogg" file in the /system/media/audio/ui folder and seeing what your music player plays. It should play the desired sound. If it plays your ringtone, than that's your issue.
Also try a reboot if you haven't. Sometimes the phone doesn't recognize the fact a new file in the folders, so check that out too

So I was checking out the keyboard for my IPad and all the noises it makes. It solely uses the "Tock" file. That's the only sound it makes for Delete, Return, Spacebar, and Standard. So I tried it out, and replaced all the noises, I hate to say, but it didn't work out too well. If you text REALLY slowly, yeah, it would work just fine. I personally text quick as hell, so it only played once every 3 letters. Kinda annoying, so I just switched it back down to normal.
Sucks, I really don't like the typewriter noise that comes stock. I'll mess with it tonight, and see if I can shorten the audio clip ever so slightly, and see if that's the reason why it wasn't playing so smoothly? I'll keep you posted
This is great

Same with me, even if I restore the original sounds it will give me no result no matter what I use. No sounds work; lock, unlock, camera, keyboard, click, none work, only one that works is the lowbattery sound and ringtones.
Have you checked your permissions for the folders and files? this might help, even though it did nothing for me.
Can anyone help me and Rene_ajax with this problem? :good:
I made a post/thread about this and all I got was no solution.
Working like a charm on my N10, thanks OP.
Thanks OP.
But look like Following MP3 have some problem to play.
sq_lock.mp3
sq_tock.mp3
Tink.mp3
Tock.mp3
Thnx
Was looking for this, thank you very much!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but this initially didn't work for me.
It took me a moment to realize that the lock and unlock sounds are not capitalized, which of course is seen as a different file in Linux/Android. If anyone going forward has issues with it not playing, this is the likeliest cause.
Linux is case sensitive. Look at how the previous .ogg file was written. The one you replace it with must match or the system will disregard it as the filename doesn't match.

Old School Recent Call APK

Hello All,
For those who had used one of Sony Ercisson's Older Xperia lines, do you guys remember the old school Recent Call apk where it displays as a big box widge and shows 3 of your most recent calls horizontally with a picture and a phone number and the time of the missed calls. So when I got my Z4, I searched online and found the one apk file that is compatible with the Z4 (most of the recent calls apk files I found resulted in the error with problem parsing the file). I have now factory reseted my phone, and cannot find that ONE working recent call apk I found a couple months ago. If anyone has a copy or knows how to make the APK file compatible, please kindly upload or advice. Thank you guys so much for your time and help! You guys are awesome!
@projectseahorse Which SE phone was it? The one I remember was a big contacts widget on Arc & it looked like this -> http://assets.hardwarezone.com/img/2011/09/device02Ray.png
But you're looking for something else. Could you post a picture?
@schecter7 Its actually a different one. Please see the link for a photo. Thanks for the help!!
