Check your phone's setting page it will be dark

If you already have a dark theme applied, doing this will bring back some color back into the theme. Like the settings page now has colorful icons and the Enable/Unintall buttons are now blue, so it is a mishmash of dark and bright themes.
P.S.: Check screenshot for reference.

Did your quick settings bar change to dark mode? Mine is still white

no the quick settings tab in the notification panel is still white . I guess thats the reason the dark mode in hidden down in the developer settings

Download Theme called "Geometrical Dimension" .
Theme has Pure Dark Mode on majority of tabs like you get on Amoled Screens, Instead of Greyish tone.

Try substratum theme pitchblack. Works on stock but better on aosp custom roms. It has lots of apps and updates. Doesn't work on zen apps, use zenui theme app for those.

Works perfect for me 5Z 5th Oct update!!! Thank you very much.

Changes:
- dark notification panel
- dark dialer/contacts/sms
- dark settings
- dark theme manager
- deleted most of standard wallpapers - new dark bloom wallpaper
Current status: beta - please report any bugs... Tested on L02.
Known bugs:
- screen saver mode not working properly (solution is known, next version will fix it)
- some red colors on H6X
- not compatible with 5.2.1 EDIT: Temporary solution (thanks to @vondutch9) is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58605637&postcount=54
Installation: put .hwt file into HWThemes folder (internal or external memory).
Any suggestions are welcome
nice. can you please make a 2.3?
It's like the two-To-Three theme
Notification panel is similar to Two-to-Three - but icons now are cyan (looks better than green). The rest is untouched from Bloom. For me it is perfect combination.
Hi mr.mrcn you can upload Bloom_darkUI_v01b.zip in a mirror? Thanks!
ps: Tips: Add new icon for facebook messanger , ZooperWidget!
@mr.mrcn, nice work. Indeed dialer, messaging and settings would be great.

Seems even many of the Samsung themes in the theme store do not fully support Pie. After finding a dark theme that I liked and that actually worked on Pie, I ended up just switching to the default theme and turning on night mode (you can't use night mode if you're using a theme). I did this because some elements were not impacted by the theme like they used to be in the past (the default email client specifically in my case).
I'm on at&t and still no update
Updated yesterday AT&T

Does does having night mode on all the time invert photo colors negatively?

No. Night Mode is not inverting the colors. Its a dark theme.

No, it only darkens some aspects of the UI for settings, notifications, and some of the stock apps such as the dialer, stock email app, etc. Even the content in those apps (for example a photo in the body of the email) are unaffected.

Guess I should have tried it before now, I just always assumed it would invert the photos too. Thanks for the answers! :good:

Works for me though I selected Pixel.
Updated to Pie just know, pretty dope!

Just got it today. Adaptive Battery is a good thing. Changing time from right to left is a stupid thing.
Recent Apps is now similar to iPhone - swipe away. Not as efficient as the old way where all the open apps were stacked, you could see them all at once, and you could quickly hit the X on each app you wanted to close.
Do they actually do any usability testing when they change things like this? Sheesh!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20/themes/deep-black-emui-9-theme-t3877187/post79166200 They suggest to search "Dark Mode" emui 9 theme by maurydes in this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eithememanager
It seems ok except the option for magazine unlock
I can confirm this app has lots of themes, including dark that work on emui 9
But it is absolutely atrocious.
This is the most disturbing thing now

How to make notifications black or dark?

Hello guys, I love this phone but the only thing I do not like are the white notifications, I have activated the dark mode of emui 9 but the notifications come out in white. help

Find black themes.
I've been trying to figure this out for a week now. Can't find a theme that supports it yet. My only disappointment with this phone is that I miss my dark apps and themes, but it's only a matter of time...
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=emui.en.com.gpix2dark

The only way is to wait untill will be released These compatible with EMUI 9.1. Till now no theme makes black notification or change icons on quick settings.
Install Huawei themes manager from playstore ,then download a dark theme( i have p30 pro dark theme,it has red accent). Turn on dark interface in the system and do a restart after installing the them.
You can change font and icons from themes as usual.

I'll paste u an answer that I wrote this week on p20lite forum
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79768600&postcount=8
Huawei devices with OLED displays only have dark mode. Sadly not the case with LCD displays. The dark theme mentioned above doesn't seem so bad though.
An update for a black theme came some days, and now it's ~95% bug free. If u disable the graphics effect as says the theme description, u I'll no have bugs, or almost no bugs.
https://theme.page.link/GFu9YNzKPVVQ7yRp9 Enjoy!!!
