Unlock lock screen after clicking on notification - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I'm using a fingerprint scanner to unlock my phone and I'm used to going directly to the application after clicking on the notifications from the lock screen. Now, with screen built-in fingerprint scanner, when I click on the notification from the lock screen, it will first ask me to provide a password (password is enforced by my company), then I have to click on the small fingerprint icon and only then I can unlock the phone using my fingerprint. With my previous phones, i.e. OnePlus 6 which had a fingerprint scanner at the back, I was able to save this one click on the screen. I know it's nothing tragic but still, if you'd have an idea how to set it up that after clicking on a notification it doesn't ask me for a password but for fingerprint scan, I would really appreciate your help!
Cheers

Thanks. But to jump in app with fingerprint you need to first click on the fingerprint icon in the bottom of the screen and only after verify your fingerprint, right? I would love to skip that step of clicking on the fingerprint icon.

Aha thats what u meant. Well i dont think it is possible if u r locked with fingerprint. U have to roll it if u want to get into app, i mean thats why fingerprint exists, for security reasons.

I don't want to get rid of the fingerprint scanning itself but to get rid of touching the fingerprint icon when the password prompt comes up. I hope it's clear now [emoji28]

Face Unlock Straight to Home Screen

Hey XDA'ers,
I just picked up my N6 a few days ago.. I've been on Nexus devices after I gave up on the Galaxy S3. Never looked back! (Except for my CM12 LG G3 )
So here is my question to you all. Has anyone created or integrated app/code that once your face is recognized, unlock to home screen without a swipe? I was comparing the iOS finger unlock with my fam this weekend and it would be nice not to swipe up even though your face has been recognized.
If its not implemented, I can donate some money for someone to create something like that if plausible. Maybe a bounty if others are interested.
Thanks for taking a look!
Is that not the default behavior when you select face unlock as your security? I haven't used it in a little while however I am sure that is how it works. Turn on phone, look at it, boom home screen.

Nope. I use face unlock right now. Once it recognizes your face, it allows you to swipe up. It didn't automatically unlock.
Couldn't this pose a risk of unlocking when unintended? Perhaps you just want to see notifications on the lock screen quickly and see if you actually want to unlock and act? Or what about changing the track in the lock screen music player?

I see your point, however if someone were to make an app or bake it into a ROM, there could be a "hold off for __ seconds" before it checks for a face and goes to home screen. For instance, you could make it zero if you want immediate unlock, 10 seconds to check notifications. And if you didn't want to unlock and just check notifications, you would just hit the icon so it stays locked until you swipe up at that point (how it is with 5.0 at the moment.

Then I would be too impatient when I want to skip the lock screen and just swipe anyway - defeating the purpose. Swipe is faster than wait 10 seconds to auto-unlock.

I think it just makes sense! If you don't want it, simply deactivate the feature, right? I'm starting my developing classes later thus summer. Maybe I'll be able to cook something up if nothing shows up by then haha.
Thanks for your interest guys, but it looks like not many are interested :/
+1 definitely would love someone to fix this
Bump because I want this, I can't figure how to do something like this with tasker.
What I want:
Condition: Lockscreen locked with pattern, trusted face enabled and triggered.
Scenarios:
1. Notifications present? Remove pattern but allow me to swipe to unlock when I'm ready. (Current behaviour)
2. No notifications? Go straight to homescreen without any interaction as soon as my face is detected. (New behaviour)

I've been trying every combination of tasker and secure settings I can think of, but there's no way I can detect when smart lock is triggered with the built-in settings.
http://nelenkov.blogspot.com/2014/12/dissecting-lollipops-smart-lock.html
I read that, and there seems to be a per-user trusted flag that's edited by smart lock, if tasker somehow could read it, we could trigger actions with it.
There problem is I don't know where the flag is or how to read it, I'm a bit out of my league here, maybe you are more knowledgable in this matter.
Take a look at the Stock LG G2/3/4 ROMs, this is their default Face Unlock behavior. I came from the G2 and am having withdrawals, partially because of this feature.

[Q] Fingerprint Unlock Issues

Hey all,
I may be completely missing something but I can't seem to get the fingerprint unlock on my AT&T S6 to work consistently. I've gone through the process and set up my fingerprint, but when i click the power button and back on, it asks me to swipe rather than use the fingerprint. At the bottom on the lockscreen I get a "swipe to unlock" message and when i touch/swipe the little water globule appears. I have to swipe to the right to unlock. What's extra interesting is when I reboot my phone, for first unlock (and only first) it asks for fingerprint unlock and unlocks appropriately by me placing my thumb on the sensor. Here's some additional information that may help:
1. Under lock screen and security settings, "Screen lock type" is set to "Fingerprints"
2. Under "Fingerprints" i have Fingerprint 1 which is my thumb
3. Web sign-in and Verify Samsung are currently Off
4. The problem is the same whether i use the power button on the right side of the phone, or press and hold home button, or single press home button then try to use thumbprint
Am i completely stupid and missing something? Seems totally weird to me that on first reboot and first unlock attempt it requires fingerprint, but any subsequent unlock is swipe only?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Number and Fingerprint lockscreen help

Ok, I want to be given the option of using either my fingerprint or number code on the lock screen. Seems like I have to pick one or the other.
Am I missing something or do I need another lockscreen app?
Anyone?
I use the fingerprint and it gives me the option to type in the backup code I had specified in setup for the fingerprint option. They allow this in case the fingerprint doesn't work (like if you cut your finger, etc.). Also you can specify up to four fingers which I have done...

Thanks for the reply folks. I do get that it defaults to a code if the fingerprint fails.
My reason is that I work in a lab where I am required to wear gloves, no option for fingerprint scanning, so I have to use an unlock code at work.
My wish was that when I set it for fingerprint, it would also show the numer unlock, thus giving me two options.

No, my lock screen says to use the fingerprint scanner but also has a button labeled "use backup password" (which works). I'd show you a screen snapshot but that functionality is disabled on the lock screen of course. I think that button only appears after a failed fingerprint scan. So how come you can't just use it that way? Just touch the fingerprint scanner to your nose or something and then the button would appear!?!?

Turn on screen with fingerprint in non-miui rom

In miui based rom, touching the fingerprint scanner while the screen off will turn the screen on.
I know if password and fingerprint lock is enabled, this method works. But i don't want to set any password
Is there a way to do that on non-miui rom like lineage, aosp, nos, etc?
No. You must set a password/PIN/pattern prior to setting up a fingerprint.

Then you are having a problem with fingerprint I guess. All the people using custom roms here still touch the fingerprint sensor to unlock directly from screen-off to home screen, same as on MIUI.

Yes. It does drain the battery, both by the touch panel and the cpu clock needed to maintain it. It's small, but noticeable.

Ok, thanks for the info, but i still looking for fingerprint method
Cause i want to save my power button's life
Somehow I did it!!
I was resetting my device (Nos oreo), and add fingerprint+pin, reboot my device
And here's the bug:
After reboot I can't use my fingerprint, so I unlock it with my pin, went into setting and the fingerprint setting is gone (Nos bug, or Oreo bug maybe), so I decided to remove my pin and changed into swipe (default). I restart my device and voilaaa, the bug made me happy, the fingerprint is not gone, and the screen lock is still swipe. I try to wake my device by touching my fingerprint and it's worked, press my power button and just swipe to unlock!! No pin or password required :victory:

Using "Swipe" as the "Screen Lock Type" deletes all fingerprints for app autho!

Using "Swipe" as the "Screen Lock Type" deletes all fingerprints for app autho!
I'm coming from several previous Notes. Most recently the 8. They made a small change to the settings menu. In the 8 the "Biometrics" settings were within the "Lock Screen" menu . Now on the 9 "Biometrics and Security" have their own category. But they have also changed something major it seems...and I hope I'm wrong. When you select "Swipe" as the "Screen Lock Type" it has to "Remove Data" and delete the recorded fingerprint(s). It makes it seem like that if you use them for apps you have to come back and redo the fingerprints for that purpose. But as soon as I do that it automatically switches the lock type back to "Fingerprint". It a vicious cycle.
I have always only used "Swipe" as my unlock method. I have also always liked using finger print for authentication with whatever apps utilize that. I'm pretty bummed right now. Hopefully I'm not the only one with this issue and you guys can dig in and see if I am missing something.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hmmm.... It never affected me on the 8 with Oreo. I just lost the ability today when I switched to the 9
Well, I ended up resorting to using "Swipe" as my unlock method and I just won't be using fingerprint within any of the apps. Pretty disappointing. Unless anyone can come up with a workaround.
seem like there is no options. anyone can help?
I have the same issue and am looking for a remedy. They actually took away the option to have swipe to unlock but keep the biometric data for the Note 9. I use swipe to unlock on my Note 8 and have biometric data for banking apps, etc. But can't do that on the Note 9. This is a definite downgrade and hoping that samsung or someone comes up with a fix for it.

Exactly - you can't use biometrics in other apps unless you have a secure lock actually running on your phone. Want to change it to swipe to unlock? They make you delete all of your biometrics. Frustrating.
I have been looking for a work-around to this issue. Thought maybe a lockscreen app that offered swipe to open would work. Have yet to find one that has the option available though. Plus I don't want to have to deal with another app running on top of everything just to have a swipe to open lockscreen. Hope Samsung fixes this issue soon!

So I installed and....... this worked! Thanks a ton!
I DL'd, installed "no lock". Set it to "Locking Enabled". Went to my lockscreen settings and set my lockscreen to come up immediately upon the display turning off. Hit the power button to get off the AOD and to the lock screen, and lo and behold I am at the swipe to unlock screen just as it used to be on my Note 8. Swipe to unlock works perfectly, and my biometric data is still preserved for my misc apps I use fingerprint to unlock (banking apps, etc).
Again, thanks a TON!

Glad to hear it! :good:
I myself do not use any type of phone lock, but, the locking on a per-app basis makes sense, for whatever app you deem necessary.
The obvious come to mind (Banking/email/messages) so,I definitely see the need.
This may change my mind,as I cannot stand to use a general lockscreen/PIN/pattern/fingerprint/etc..... to wake it up each time I use it.

I also do not use or like a secure lockscreen (pin/pattern/fingerprint/etc) on my lockscreen. But I do like to swipe to unlock only to keep accidental unlocks from happening in pocket, etc. With the swipe to unlock that keeps those accidental unlocks down to basically zero. However, I do utilized secure locking on banking apps, etc. I use these daily, many times a day normally, and would never want them to be able to be accessed by someone who got my phone somehow. So having those securely locked (I use fingerprint with PIN as my backup) is a huge plus for me.
Again, can't thank you enough. This solved a frustrating problem for me and I am sure many others!

Thanks KOLIOSIS for the solution. I used this app during the time there was no "none" option too. The downside is that the CPU will not sleep, thus drain the battery.
I'm willing to explore this further, but I'm stuck.
The basic lock security I have to add in order to register my FP is pattern lock. After that I followed the steps as you stated:
1) Set the No lock app to "lockscreen enabled"
2) Set the "Lock automatically" to "immediately"
Anything else I miss out? Appreciate the help.
Thanks~!

There is an app to monitor this. Can't remember it now.
The CPUs and batteries of todays may not be that affected even if it doesn't sleep.. I'm not sure. I am willing to try this out and see if I'm ok with the batt life.
Could you direct me with the detail steps to get this setup up please?

All I did was download the apk then add my fingerprints. Done. It switches the screen unlock method to "fingerprint, pin" like usual but I guess this app overrides that and allows me to unlock with just a swipe
