Guys Please Help! I bricked my new K20 Pro - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hi All,
My K20 Pro came with a global ROM and I found that the Bootloader was unlocked which was not safe so decided to lock it, Now I get a msg that "This MIUI version cannot be installed on this phone" . Please Help!:crying:

Same thing happened to me. I had to open the back of the phone and find the edl mode, then pay a Russian guy to use his mi account to flash over the Chinese firmware for me using teamviewer. Here's the guy's contact +7 967 777 15 98

how much did you have to pay him?

How much will he charge?

You opened it by yourself buddy? I hate to do that for my 2 days old phone

I did it myself. Its not difficult but just be very gentle and make sure you have the right prying tools

you have to open it to access the test point, no choice.

Finally the Russian dude accessed my computer and logged in with MI Auth account and flashed a China ROM on EDL mode which booted up fine. Issue Resolved.

Glad it worked!

I got mine bricked using miflash and flash_all_lock option ..( standard case )
I know it`s scary at first but i got mine opened (2 day brand new phone) using literally a hair drier (to soften the adhesive ) and a guitar pick ) to remove the back and then a wire to activate the test mode .
Then i asked the "" russian guide - +7 967 777 15 98 "" for help . payd 20 bucks via paypal and BAM . phone usable again .
If you guys need some tips/help opening the back and activate-ing edl mode , etc . contact me via whatsapp +40743657739 ( free of charge )

If you know about the testpoint pin or edl mode, i guess you are in big trouble and doing a lot of research about it now or even talked to those guys who can remote in to your pc and unbrick your device using TeamViewer
My advice is dont waste your time, just find a way to send it back to China to get it fix.
Nobody have any clues about this testpoint pin and PiLyTam is BS, testpoint pin on all other Xiaomi model will be close together, HTF that this model can be so far away that you cant even use tweezer to short it?
BTW, if your phone is in below condition, not just one but all combined. Trust me, dont waste your time
- your phone is in bootloop and your phone have no OS installed because you have already delete it with TWRP
- bootloader is locked
- you have using that sh1tty xiaomi flashtool and haven't noticed that "flash and lock" was selected by default
Oh and by the way, welcome to the sh1tty group of being xiaomi's customers, dont get me wrong the phone is great but if you are not in China and using "grey products" you are on your own

Possibly Wrong Pins
I believe the pins are the wrong pins. I've been trying different methods of entering EDL mode on my own bricked Mi 9 (locked bootloader + the system is destroyed) and cannot enter EDL mode no matter what I try. Has anyone been successful?

Have a look here for test point. You will need to read it properly saying something about serious problems later. Not sure if he is talking about the battery or the cable that hides the pins to be disconnected.

**Continue at your own risk**
You'll have to detach battery cable first before attempting to circuit the 2 testpoints as shown on the picture. Don't forget !
In order to reach the 2 points you'll have to disconnect the ribbon cable as shown in the video. Then connect the 2 points (with a clip or anything that can connect both) and reconnect the ribbon cable again (keep holding the 2 points).
That would be it

Read the above links again. Unfortunately they're all in English, so you may need to use Google translate to understand them fully.
You will need to open the phone to set it in EDL mode.
You will need to contact someone in Russia that has an authorised service account and pay him about €20
He will then need you to allow him to control your PC by remote desktop to flash your phone and unlock the bootloader.
All the information is in the above posts, including the contact details for the Russian guy. There have been a few people that have done this, so this works and the Russian guy is reliable.
There is no physical reason that this cannot be done by the Italian service centre. Maybe you could try to ask them again if they can take pity on you and help.

You're not supposed to relock the bootloader with anything other than the original software, even different regions of MIUI for example. Otherwise the device bricks itself.

help about Deep flash cable

Hello good day, I bricked my K20 Pro by flashing the Mi 9T Pro ROM on the phone with clean all + lock method unintentionally, now my phone has locked bootloader and has an error that MIUI version couldnt be installed on this device, does the dewp flash cable work to enter EDL Mode or do I need to open back pannel and short JTAG pins ?
Pls inform me. Thanks!

Try an old version of Mi Unlock to unlock the bootloader. If that doesn’t work, wait for 5 days and try again and it should allow you to unlock.

It is worth a try. Yes the unlock is linked to the account but i have seen people also unlocking it without binding the account. EDL flashing isn’t that easy because it needs an Authorized EDL Account to be able to flash the firmware. You can’t just put the device in EDL and carry on with the flash. So its worth a try rather than just sitting helpless.
Make a new MI account if you don’t have it till now. Hook your device and put it in fastboot mode and try the unlock with the tool. You might get an unlock instantaneously or for worst it might ask you to wait for 168hrs before you can unlock.

You will probably need too open the back panel to enter EDL mode, then you'll need someone with an authorised account to flash for you. A little bit of digging on these forums and you'll see many others have done this. There's a Russian guy with an authorised account, you'll find his contact details easily in the posts about this.
You'll need to pay him about $20 and you'll need to give him remote control access to your PC in order to flash an official ROM for you.

Do you have access to a hairdryer? That seems to be a common tool people have used. You might need to risk something sharp to get the first opening, but then something like a credit card could be used to pry it open more. There are a couple of posts on how others have done this without proper phone repair tools.

[SOLVED] Mi 9 bricked after latest MIUI 11. Help me please.

EDIT: Solved, check latest post. (#28)
My Mi 9 bricked after i flashed the MIUI 11 beta (9.9.24), then with MiFlash, flashed back to Global (i have unlocked the bootloader)
Now the phone is in this state:
- Screen black, no signal to anything, no LED turns on
- Cannot boot to System, Fastboot, Recovery, or EDL
- Does not react to any button combination (Tried with/without charger, power button holding for 1 min, etc.) Guess i'm f-ed
Can someone help me please? :/
I'm not an expert but if you phone don't event turn on, how you expect someone to help you? The only one who can help you it's a service or a repair lab. I don't think that the problem is in software.

As far as i know Mi 9 cepheus doesn't have rollback protection.... Maybe this miui 11 beta has, and i didn't know.
EDIT: It does not have any ARB... I did something wrong but dunno what
You can try to unlock again with Mi Unlock tool. Helped in my case which was different from yours though. But you've got nothing to lose anyhow.
Cheers

I was so pissed off! I thought i could use my phone like every day, and this happened... Everything is great with Xiaomi imo except this...
You need to open back cover, find EDL testpoint pins and flash full ROM through MiFlash.
If you dont have authorized Mi account for EDL flash, find someone who have it.

If you can go under the device manager and see if there is a usb device connecting? It may be in Snapdragon's flash mode. If it is, you need to find someone with a privledged account or goto the mi store.

Can you dubbelcheck the rom you tried to flash? Make sure its really for MI9? This kind of trouble most of the time happens when flashing a rom for another phone. Like MI9T or something.

Yes it was cepheus_global_images_V10.2.13.0.PFAMIXM_20190709.0000.00_9.0_global. I followed every instruction for flashing with MiFlash tool....
I had a similar problem when I received the phone, I couldn't start it right out of the box, it's certainly not the same problem but I waited a few hours and then I had the idea to boot it in fastboot and when I restarted it, it worked

Hello I have one that it's stuck in fastboot, I flashed an India ROM, updated via OTA, then wanted to flash Global (lower version), and it does not pass fastboot. Flashed India ROM again, and it happens the same, I guess it's because the version is lower than the latest updated via OTA. Is there any possibility to reflash a lower version ROM?
Thanks
