What's the difference between locked and unlocked bootloader?

You can do more stuff with an unlocked boot loader like rooting your device. Warranty will be void though that's why some prefer to lock it again before they take it to a service center

Of course you need anrar and connect phone with PC then boot into fastboot and run bat file(FLASH-ALL.bat)
And a little hint. This adb fastboot install will be unbrick your phone. I reed for your problem

Via TWRP
Install -> Install Image -> stockboot.img -> boot type
Via ADB
fastboot flash boot stockboot.img

This isn't the whole OS. This is just the boot.img. If you are unable to boot into anything but eRecovery and TWRP, you will likely need to flash back the stock recovery for your device. eRecovery will then be able to salvage your OS.
I don't wanna be "that guy," but it sounds like you really are in over your head. You should not do things on your phone especially a Huawei if you do not fully understand what you are doing. Huaweis are notoriously easy to softbrick and potentially full brick.

I used this image: PAYTON_FI_OPW27.57-25-2_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
Download this file and extract both image and adb to the same folder.
Install Motorola Device Manager.
Now, boot your phone into fastboot, just turn it off and press volume down + power, connect the USB cable and execute the script.
The image are already on Oreo, the script contains instructions to erase userdata, even so, do a hard reset after flashing the phone.
Worked fine here, but do at your own risk.

No, the bootloader remain locked, probably you'll recebe updates, I'm waiting january patch to see.

I just flashed this on my European XT1900-7 and it is working ok.
Although, unfortunately IMS-Services such as VoLTE and VoWiFi (WiFi-Calling) are disabled in this Project-Fi ROM
They are unchecked when opening test menu by typing *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer.
Anybody has a clue on how to get this working?

Hi, I didn't received any ota updates, I think it's because of the software channel, mine is retbr.

What are the advantages of Android One?
How is the battery life?
The only thing I could find is the AntuTu score, more than 85k points.
That's a huge improvement...

I got..but it have calling issue...u can't either call anyone or received..But using #jio4Gvoice u can solve this prob..as well as It doesn't have wireless sound system option

Did someone in the RETEU Channel allready have this ?
I dont see it on lolinet.

You won't be able to flash the boot.img from RETUS or the international version and you won't get OTA updates if you have an unlocked bootloader.
If it's not in the firmware list yet, the update likely isn't out yet. I'm using a German Moto G6 with the ALI_RETAIL_9.0_PPS29.55-24_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC firmware and it works really well.

I updated with the from stated before. But then when i tried to call i could not hear anyone nor they could hear me... Searched the internet. Tried all solutions... nothing helped...

Did you end up getting the update? Sadly the firmware isn't on lolinet yet (the hell kind of name is that anyway?)

Downgrading to 8.0 and locking the bootloader won't work since even an unlocked bootloader won't allow you to install older versions. I'm not sure if you can actually get OTA updates with an unlocked bootloader.

Does anyone have the OTA package? It's still nowhere to be found and Motorola support can't provide me with the firmware file unfortunately.

You can relock it; it's a little complicated though.

Bad key is normal. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, it just means your bootloader is unlocked. You can also take OTAs with an unlocked bootloader. The bootloader and gpt.bin refusing to flash is also normal. Bootloader's don't allow downgrades, so it keeps the most recent one. You can skip it if that happens. Just flash everything else in order. You can also downgrade. However, if you flash a firmware that's too old, sometimes the radio or touchscreen won't work. If that happens, just flash a more recent firmware. (Ex. Instead of using the first Oreo firmware, use the latest Oreo release.)

It's possible, but I wouldn't recommend doing it. If one thing about the system is off, it'll lock you into read only mode, which will brick the phone. Not even stock firmware can flash in read only. I'm also uncertain of the exact commands to do it. I'd tell you how if I knew. Motorola has their own set of commands they like to use for it.

[Help] Bricked ROG Phone 2

Hi,
I tried to flash my ROG 2 from CN 1908 to WW 1907. And it didnt work. so i tried to bring back the stock image but i used the stock img of WW 1907. and it didnt work. it says "Slot _a is unbootable". and before that. i locked my bootloader. can someone help me how to restore my phone? i cant fine a way to flash it without unlocking bootloader.

I am hoping/thinking you will eventually get your phone unbricked if it is actually bricked. But really still can't understand how a phone can get bricked and it is almost 2020. As long as there is no physical damage, like a hdd or ssd you should be able to at least bring the phone back to stock. Good luck!

i tried flashing RAW roms but it is giving me error.
"error: raw signature fail or pkd id mismatch"
i think maybe because i came from CN 1908 and i am flashing 1907.

There is no problem about the version. Try another ver.
Contact here (admin nhoc con), he can unbrick by csc rom.

my device has just given me this same error when i tried to update magisk manager choosing the ota option to version 20.
Did yo uget this problem fixed? If so, how?

How did you flash your rog phone 2? i have the same issue of slut _a is unbootable. i alos locked the bootloader. please show me how to flash my rog phone 2. Thank you!

Just find a RAW file and flash it. doesnt matter if you are locked Bootloader or not. try CN or WW depending on your previous Firmware. mine worked with 1906 raw.

I was on WW rom of 1906 which is odd because I have a Tencent version phone with 8GB ram and 128 GB storage. My model number is ASUS_I001DA.

Now I think what has happened is... Although the company you bought the phone from changed the rom to WW, I think perhaps they didn't change the fingerprint from CN to WW, so you need to flash CN, then follow the guides to change fingerprint to WW and flash that rom again. Try flashing CN raw..

Hello, its me, Mr. Mangesh. I accidentally unsubscribed myself. how silly of me.
Anyway, how do i flash my rog phone 2. every time i try to boot it it shows slot_a is unbootable, will sgut down in 30 seconds. do i need to install any software on my pc to flash my phone? a quick guide would be really helpful. Thank you!
