you will have to find the exact model of phone including what carrier it is from.
it will give you an idea of what exact firmware file you need.

It was a sm-N960f/DS from ebay seller never-msrp. It came unlocked and everything when i bought it

well ure device is international so there's no real official firmware for TMO .
use samfirm tool v0.3.6 to dl another firmware:
enter model as followed: SM-N960F
Enter CSC as followed: DBT
tick the auto box.
then check update and download.
it should be the best firmware even if it dosent match USA carriers.
if it fails check logs because your windows might need a specific redist. version. it will tell you in the logs if ure missing a components.
remove sim and reflash everything.( fill ALL 4 slots in odin with corresponding .md5. be sure to use csc.md5 i the CSC slot and not home_csc.md5)
after flashing let it boot to initial setup. shutdown device and insert sim and boot back up. if u still have an issue. flash twrp again use ketans guide and use method 1to flash his oem unlock fix root v5. dont skip any steps from his guide.
report back here i might have a file CSC file for you to flash.

Ill attempt it and update you on the result

anyways if do flash back twrp and you need to flash TMO try this zip is in there. flash with twrp:
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AhXVLDDj8g3AgeA6IyH1iTzQAGB4MA
choose XAA usa, then TMO
let me know if it works out for you.

I'm Curious..
Why did you not just remove your Sim - Card and do a Factory Reset?
Even with Knox Tripped, it should have just reinstalled it original firmware which would have un-rooted the phone..

There was no SIM card in the phone when I decided to flash the stock firmware in Odin. Also I have attached a screenshot of the software information. My phone was originally an /fd but now it just says /f

yes of course! what carrier were you wanting to flash?
also just do a full backup of efs and carrier configs partition in twrp. or better yet a full backup before doing anything.
and also very important:
please also check that you are using twrp v 3.2..x.x and NOT 3.3.1.x version. it wont work on the broken twrp 3.3.1.x

N920S Lollipop Downgrade

Hello all,
I have an N920S, SK Telekom, and i've done OTA update on Marshmallow. I don't like it and i want to downgrade to Lollipop. I've tried everything with stock firmware of N920S but everytime a click START on Odinit gives me FAIL from the beginning. Even installed TWRP, wipe everything, even DATA, the phone remained without OS but still can't install 5.1.1, only 6.0.1. Can anyone help me with this problem? It can be done downgrading to Lollipop on N920S?
Thank you in advance for your responses.

You need to use the absolute correct firmware in order to downgrade! Make sure OEM is enabled and Debugging also before trying to flash anything.
Follow my instructions here but substitute the Verizon firmware for your own.

I've already tried this with 3 official 5.1.1 ROMs of N920S SK Telecom, the first 3 5.1.1 ROMs that appeared. But when i click START on ODIN it gives me FAIL about 3 seconds from the start, and on the phone a message appears: Sw rev check fail device 2 binary 1. Maybe i'm doing something wrong. From Phone Info Samsung i got these: SM-N920S 64 GB, 23.10.2015, KNOX 0X1, on product code and original csc code i got nothing, firmware's csc code: SKC, active csc code: SKC.

Because you tripped knox you have to flash everything in the slots BL, AP etc etc.. you should unzip the firmware and find a guide that shows you how to flash them 1 by 1 by putting them in the correct slots in odin.

Also done this. I found an official 5.1.1 ROM with 4 files, AP, BL, CP, CSC and the Pit file, but nothing, the error is the same. I begin to think that on N920S this method doesn't work.
LE: It worked with another ROMA file. Thank you for your advice.

Glad you got it working! This is just more proof that other carriers can downgrade!

is their a stock note 8 "U" firmware not tied to a carrier?

I wanna get rid of the verizion boot up logo, the apps and so on. Any official ROM I can download? Do I do it through Kies or odin? Thanks
Download and flash the U1 firmware. I run the USC version on Verizon no problem. If you don't like it you can always flash the U firmware back with all it's bloat.

No problem. This will not trip Knox, I've done it with several Verizon phones before I purchased the U1. It most likely will reset your phone so back up any important files first.

Did you get the Tmobile Odin or are you just flashing the unlocked firmware? Flashing unlocked firmware doesnt carrier unlock your device.

use your last valid twrp backup from before the issue to restore:
carrier configs (odm)
efs
also when you flash full stock, use csc.md5 and not home_csc.md5 as CSC file.
it migh be good to research what the very latest firmware files are for your device. there should be a july update somewhere. so use that and try again.
if you want and try to fix ure csc issue try to flash zip in:
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AhXVLDDj8g3AgeA6IyH1iTzQAGB4MA
beware that you flash this at tour own free will and i cant be held responsible for anything.
do a full backup first.
in aroma choose DBT and choose ure correct CSC code.

WIll flashing offical stock rom using ODIN replace modified IMEI with original?

I purchased a used samsung galaxy note 9 from a second hand seller to save costs. Software showed that it was n90fd and it had two separate IMEI as well. I went to download mode and it turns out the model is N960N and imei of the phone has been changed and two imei appear in the software. I am on android 9 and some pie rom with jan 2019 security patch from Dr. Ketan has been installed which does not allow me to update to andoid 10. My question is that if I flash stock n950N rom over it, will it restore my original IMEI or retain both modified IMEI? Will the calls etc still work because I plan to flash official pie rom using ODIN and update through OTA to the android 10 and I do not want to lose the dual sim functionality.

Thanks for the response but the tagged thread does not answer my question
From IMEI problems on other Samsung models .
For those that failed to back up EFS , try flashing original stock firmware via Odin .
Worth a try .
You only need to back up the EFS and ODM partitions!
---------- Post added at 02:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:54 AM ----------
Only need to flash the BL+CP file via ODIN to update to Android 10! There is no need to update the stock ROM completely through ODIN!
Didn't you see the Dr. Ketan explanation? If you want to update from Android 9 to Android 10, you must first refresh the BL file of Android 10!
