LGWR only vibrates, no display whatsoever, does not connect via BT or USB cable.

I am new to the forums and I need your help. The display on my LGWR went black after update even on cradle. It cannot even connect to my mobile via BT. The only thing it does is vibrate when the button is pushed and the heart sensor blinks a single time (when it turns on I guess.) as the vibration is a small one. When connected to PC running Windows 7, it is detected as Android Bootloader Interface, but ADB does not show any attached devices. Fastboot does show some alphanumerical device when (fastboot devices command is run). I have disassembled to remove the battery and tried to run it without the battery on cradle to no avail. Your help is needed as to what to do.
So it seems to hang in fastboot mode?
Try some fastboot commands then:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
fastboot reboot
Dear Ranf.
Many thanks for your reply. I ran fastboot getvar all and this is what I got. Screenshot is attached. Please guide me further.
Thanks.
Looks like you already downloaded the firmware? Right?
If so start with wiping cache and userdata:
Code:
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
fastboot reboot
I have downloaded the M1D63X boot, recovery and system (Disc Image Files) saved in my PC. They are not present in the SD card of LGWR. Shall I execute the commands or can I use fastboot and install this M1D63X on the LGWR. Thanks for your support.
The 2 format commands are basically the same as a factory reset. Please try them and then reboot.
Where did you download the file (URL please)?
Boot and recovery usually aren't trouble makers. system.img will if it's not a sparse image file.
The download like is as under Ranf:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch-r/development/fastboot-zip-factory-images-t3405311
Dear Ranf,
I tried to run Fastboot flash cache, and this is what the result was. Please guide.
Oh I see: you first need to unlock the bootloader with:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
How can I dod that, as the screen is blank on the watch. I have tried it, fastboot says OKAY on my PC screen, but the watch does not reboot on its own and I have to manually restart it to get recognized in PC at Android ABD Interface. What can I do.
After running "fastboot oem unlock" you somehow need to acknowledge your decision (I'm a Sony SW3 user)
Either swipe the screen from tp left to bottom right or
press the power button.
Do you see anything on the watch screen when in fastboot mode?
Dear Ranf,
I finally able to unlock bootloader and formatted cache and userdata and then rebooted it, but the problem still exists i.e. black screen and only vibration.
Is there any way I can install stock Rom via fastboot and if so please guide me how and from which url should I download the files.
Thanks.
Screenshot of the fastboot format cache and userdata is attached for your perusal.
At 1st look the download you have is fine.
You need to flash 3 partitions:
Code:
fastboot flash boot M1D63X_boot.img
fastboot flash recovery M1D63X_recovery.img
fastboot flash system M1D63X_system.img
When you see errors at any of these steps post them here.
Thankfully all things well without any errors, but the watch is still the same, no display whatsoever. I am really devastated now. If there is anything else that can be done, please guide.
Screenshot of the processes is attached.
Sorry I must admit I'm a bit lost now. Best you ask @vt0r in the thread where you got the firmware from.
Thanks a lot Ranf. God Bless You.
You have done all steps that you can do, probably your display is broken...
I'm sorry...
When your watch starts, you see the lg logo?
Is there a way to check if the display is broken as when I disassembled the watch everything looked fine with no signs of wear or moisture. The battery also is not holding charge as when you put the watch on cradle it vibrates but off of it, vibration stops. How can I charge the battery manually.
Hey,
my watch had exactly the same problem.
I had to repair it. They had to replace the mainboard.
Luckily the warranty paid for this.
Lucas
Lucky for you that you had warranty left. For me there are two problems. First no warranty left and secondly replacement parts are not available here in Pakistan, so if there is any online store from I can manage the parts, do let me know Lucas.

D950 no way to flash it plz help!!

I really need help with flashing my d950 with any rom idc which one.
I was on kk but the phone was full of virus when i got it. I flashed twrp 3.1.0 and from there formatted everything being sure that i can connect it somehow afterwards to flash it with stock rom.
Now the phone is stuck on lg logo with flashing led.
I can go to twrp but adb cant connect so i can sideload, otg drives (fat32) are not discovered by the phone.
Then there is download mode in which i can go when the phone is not connected to pc. It stays in download mode but it is not discovered by windows or flash tools or any software. Tried more than one pc and installed drivers and software more than once
When i start download mode with the phone connected to pc then it just resets as soon as it loads.
In windows when it is on lg logo port lge(com 41) shows up and modem lge also shows up. When in recovery or download nothing shows up in windows.
I am completely puzzled by this and hoping someone can help me with this phone
**UPDATE**
After hours of trying i finally fixed it! The solution is difficult and long and not found anywhere in full, but since its an old phone and nobody probably need it i will not post it but if ever anyone ever does plz ask and i will share it. Thx!
how?
How did you get your system to read the phone in dl mode. I cant get it to work!

Are you sure you are in the same situation as i was?
My download mode was not working at all (phone reset when entered downolad mode). I had twrp recovery but usb otg not working nor adb and i could not transfer a rom so i can flash it so I had to short the test point on the motherboard so i could put the phone in qhsusb 9008 mode. This is not easy and its dangerous to kill the phone.
Then you need to download a stock rom and extract aboot, boot, laf, recovery, backupgpt and a few more files with LGFirmwareExtract and flash them one by one with boarddiag application. Then you get normal download mode back and flash any rom you want.
If you tried all the easy solutions like different cables or other pc or different lg drivers and its still not working then you probably need to do the same as me. If you do tell me and i will give you details how i did it. This really is a last resort cause you could easily fry the phone! I've read many people destroyed their phones like this!
not as bad
My problem is that the lg flash tool wont read my phone Ive tried everything and I cant get it to work.
I bought this phone because my other one died and it has jellybean on it. I wat kitkat on it . Thats what Im trying to do.
If you installed the lg drivers you should see an lge android port in device manager. You should go to properties and in advanced change the com port to 41. Unplug the phone and replug it then flash tool will connect to it. Or you could try downloading the rom and use lg up tool or even lg pc suite to update it. Also try the guide from dfuse https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666763 and use adb to flash the kit kat rom.
I'm new to lg phones so thats as much as i know to do with it! Unfortunately there is not too much info for this phone anywhere. It took me two weeks to figure out what to do and a lot of luck!

hello, which contact points did u short to enter download mode 9008?
i have the same problem as yours. thx.
I'm in a similar situation with my G Flex D950.
It does not boot, remains at the LG logo and seems to loop trying to boot again and again with the green LED flashing.
Pressing POWER+Vol.Down does nothing.
Trying to enter in Download Mode by pressing VolUp while connecting USB, displays the Download Mode screen for less than a second and then enters fastboot mode.
I have a laptop with Win7 and all the drivers and apps correctly installed (already flashed successfully another LG mobile). With the D950 in fastboot mode I run the command fastboot in the laptop and it communicates with the phone but without any useful result as no erase or flash commands executed successfully.
E.g.
>fastboot erase boot
PC reply:
erasing 'boot'...
FAILED (remote: failed to erase partition)
finished. total time: 0.047s
PHONE reply:
fastboot: getvarartition-type:boot
fastboot: erase:boot
partition_get_size 16777216 bytes
Full Erase partition boot
Error 2: Failure sending erase group start command to the card (RCA:2)
>fastboot flash aboot aboot.img
PC reply:
target reported max download size of 1862270976 bytes
sending 'aboot' (1024 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.043s]
writing 'aboot'...
FAILED (remote: flash write failure)
finished. total time: 0.080s
PHONE reply:
fastboot: getvarartition-type:boot
fastboot: getvar:max-download-size
fastboot: download:00100000
fastboot: flash:aboot
partition_get_size 1048576 bytes
Error No.2: Failure sending write command to the Card(RCA:2)
Do you believe that your experience with your phone can help me with this situation?

XT1064 Isn't recognized by computer

So, I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my Moto G2, and installed a custom rom on it. I decided that I wanted to go back to stock Android but now my phone isn't recognized by the computer and when I turn it on it goes to Fastboot and I get the message "Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from normal boot mode" I can't do anything in Minimal ADB and Fastboot so im assuming my phone's dead? Any help would be appreciated.
I am having that trouble too, but mine is working fine, except for USB and fastboot mode
my phone also has the same problem.......on bootloader mode it is not recognised by any pc......

Gazza76, I don´t know exactly why, but I just charge my phone all the way, and try again expecting that was some battery protection. Maybe if the battery is below some threshold it stop the boot to avoid issues. But no, keeping having the same problem.
But, I pluged in the computer with LSMA installed and it let me reinstall all firmware. It recommends the right firmware, you download it through the app, and install it really fast in my opinion. Could be a solution for you if you are with the problem yet...

Question Stuck in bootloader by attempt to install lineage os. How ****ed am I?

Hey, dear community,
First of all: I'm using Linux. The Version of Fastboot is 33.0.3p1-android-tools. The device I thought I'm experienced enough to install Lineage OS on is the Asus Zenfone 8. Yes, I asked google - for hours. And I think I am really ****ed now.
Cause the Smartphone (Asus Zenfone 8) was not cheap. And it does not boot anymore. I don't get in Recovery mode anymore. And I'm not able to connect via Fastboot anymore.
But let's start at the beginning.
I was pissed, cause my smartphone forced me to use google. Even if I skipped the Google-Part in the setup, it forced me to agree to send Google information. And I read it. They (quote: may) send Google **a lot** of data. Data I don't want to share - and I don't need to share IMHO! I didn't like to use such a intransparent Device anyway - but this convinced me to try this thing named LineageOS.
I thought about myself I am not a bloody beginner. I mean, I use Linux as my daily driver - for years. And my phone (Asus Zenfone 8) was in the list of supported devices - so I had to try it. I thought if I just install these tools, adb and fastboot, and do these things in the wiki carefully, step by step, what could happen?
And it worked. It worked to unlock device, to connect via adb, to connect via fastboot. It worked to flash the vendor_boot image, It worked to flash the recovery image. But then, just before I wanted to start with the "Installing LineageOS"-part, and therefore boot into recovery mode - it didn't work. I was stuck in the bootloader. I am. still.
There are the options "START", "Restart bootloader", "Recovery mode" and "Power off". No matter what I try to enter, the device restarts (at least it looks like) - It shows "Powered by android", and then the bootmenu again. And again. And again.
When fastboot was still connected, I tried to flash the images again. I even tried to boot directly into the recovery image using `fastboot boot image.img`. But it did not work. And then, the device even stopped showing up when I ran `fastboot devices` - it disconnected.
"Power off" is the only option, wich still appears to work (when not plugged in).
What should I do? Is it even still possible to do something? Please help me.
PS: It would be nice if you tell me, wether the tools or guides you recommend to me work on Linux, in a Windows VM or only Windows Bare Metal. I will do everything to bring my phone back, but it safes a lot of time, not to try using a tool in Windows VM if it only works bare metal anyway.
May be this thread could help you

Thanks, but my phone does not get into fastboot mode anymore, therefore I cannot connect to my phone via fastboot to flash new images.

I had the same problem. Only bootloader with no device showing with "fastboot devices".
Luckily I tried another cable. An Apple USB C cable behind a hub (screen) got fastboot working. Then I flashed android 13 beta.
And I am sure the other cable worked before with ADB and fastboot.
Try other cables and USB ports... Good luck!
