[Discussion] Root & Bootloader Unlock is been archive (NON-5G) - ZTE Axon 10 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Thanks to the help of @Unjustified Dev (no other of course ) , Unlock Bootloader is been Archive and with that, root is also done (needs Unlock bootloader)
Now only thing thing to do is let get the 3rd. Party development started, of course we need devs and hopefully we can get some devs interested in this device , which hardware wise is awesome.
P.S. Android 10 is a GSI Build and need Unlock bootloader to be flash (typical huh).

How well does the Android 10 GSI run?

What recovery did you use? Can you please describe the rooting procedure? Thank you much!

Still stock Recovery, TWRP is in development (I hope),
For starters, for ROOT you need to be " unlock bootloader " , other wise I don't see how root can be done.
By unlocking the bootloader is extremely easy using @Unjustified Dev New tool release found here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ax...-10-5g-edl-tool-flash-backup-restore-t3964605

@DrakenFX: Thanks for your response! How did you get root? To my understanding, unlocking the bootloader does not mean to get root. Did you use Magisk? Or a rooted boot.img?

Pre-Magisk Patched boot.img indeed.....
But like I mentioned before, need unlocked bootloader with the fastboot commands to flash this Patched boot.img.
I'll create a thread maybe today or soon on how to do such thing.

@DrakenFX
is that okay?
axon 10 Boot.img with the edl tool backup,
then patch the boot.img on the axon10 with Magisk, and then the patched boot.img flash with edl tool

That will work,
but you'll need UNLOCK BOOTLOADER if you don't want to end up in bootloops.

[Q] Flash boot.img on locked bootloader

Hey!
My SP has a locked bootloader and I can't unlock it because it isn't allowed.
But I want to install FXP CM11. As I can't acces fastboot mode can I flash the boot.img file through CWM if a make a flashable zip file from it(android.stackexchange.com/questions/36265/flash-boot-img-without-using-fastboot-usb)? If yes, how to make it? I don't really get that description. Thanks in advance.:fingers-crossed:

AFAIK changing kernel in locked bootloader could result in brick, not bootloop. CMIIW, but you should be careful with carrier locked bootloader
You can't install custom kernel on a locked bootloader you will get error not installed..... Even if installed it won't boot up, you will end up with a very stylish paper weight.
DON'T EVEN TRY TO MAKE IT WORK.
just accept it can't be done and install a custom stock rom instead
Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk
You can flash the boot.img
But then your phone will be a brick
So I wouldn't recommend it

Do you think these people are lying or something?
The whole point of a locked bootloader is that you cant modify kernel - the reason you can only used stock based ROMs.
If you can successfully flash a boot.img then yours is not locked.
Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

Chances are Google will come pre-installed, problem is with vendor rom as well just follow the guides (in the guide section, you don't have to root if you flash genuine Chinese ROM don't even need TWRP. If you want EU ROM then TWRP is needed but not root, need to flash dm-verify before first boot if you don't root. If you go Chinese ROM can get Google from mi store.
Hi,
Your device should come with a Vendor ROM pre-installed which already has all the Google apps built in.
Its okay to use the vendor ROM if you dont mind not getting any updates. Just check with Malwarebytes to see if there is any malware. Malwarebytes flagged the default MIUI Notes app as a downloader trojan for me and a few others.
I personally wouldnt advice being on the Vendor ROM but thats just my opinion.
Anyway, as you wait for your phone to arrive, you can try applying for an Unlock code using the guide posted by underlines.
I would recommend switching to the EU ROM as it is a very clean and stable ROM with no bloatware. You can also refer to the guide I've posted if you wish to switch to the EU ROM from a Vendor ROM.
Its simple and as long as you follow the steps, you shouldn't face any issues.
Thanks guy I keep you posted.

Did you check whether bootloader is locked? There is a possibility that it is already unlocked.
And yes, you can flash official ROM via fastboot mode even if your bootloader is locked but it requires a special flash cable. Another way is to flash via EDL mode which bypasses a locked bootloader but this is a risky process and is usually only recommended as a last resort. Anyway none of the official ROMS have GAPPS built-in so I'd suggest its best you wait till you get the unlock code if your device isnt already unlocled.

Hello,
I need to know if the latest Magisk is working with fw 8.0.0.146 C432 and above as a read about boot problems after upgrading the FW some time ago.
Maybe this only was with older Magisk 17.xx versions?
I would be happy if someone could tell me that latest Magisk is working now with my fw.
Thank you

v18 working for me on 8.0.0.157 (432)
I just received a refund from Ministry of Solutions, as they can no longer provide a code for my Mate 10 Pro. Not sure whether this applies to earlier firmwares (mine is BLA-L09, 8.0.0.137).
EDIT: Apparently the service is back up and running. I have since paid again and received an unlocking code. I haven't had a chance to test it yet.
Just to confirm I have unlocked bootloader with Ministry of Solutions code, and running magisk and TWRP. BLA-L09.
can also confirm received a working code to unlock my Bootloader from Ministry of solutions.

This is the AOSP ROM for the Sony Xperia XZ3 (akatsuki)
This ROM build will always mainly based on Sony AOSP Code and maybe include cherry-picks.
I plan to make monthly builds, after a new security patch level, if there is no need for a critical hotfix.

A bugreport needs
Code:
logcat -b all
and a way to reproduce the issue.
A crash of the system requires the content of the /sys/fs/pstore folder as bug report
Be aware that a second reboot erases this folder
A crash to the recovery partition requires additionally the content of the /dev/block/by-name/misc partition
You get the content via `cat /dev/block/by-name/misc partition > /path/to/output/file.txt`

Installation with a recovery:
fastboot flash oem _a oem_*.img (Only needed until the device receives mainline support by SODP)
Flash the ROM in a recovery
Reboot into recovery just to make sure you're on the new slot
OpenGapps (Requires TWRP or a custom ROM recovery)
Dual Sim Patcher (Requires TWRP or a custom ROM recovery)
(In case a modification prevents your device from booting) fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Flash the ROM without a recovery:
Extract the payload.bin from the .zip file
Extract the .img files with the Playload Dumper
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot -w (Wipes your internal storage and the userdata; only if needed)
Now you got the AOSP recovery, to please continue with the normal installation
fastboot flash oem_a oem_*.img (Only needed until the device receives mainline support by SODP)
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash system system.img

Short answer:
No as long your bootloader is locked.
Long answer:
You won't be able to flash any rom without unlocking the bootloader. I come from sov39 as well, docomo phone bootloader can't be unlock through normal way. I gave up struggling to find ways to unlock it and pay for unlock tools to unlock the bootloader.
I would suggest to just use stock rom, the price for the tool is almost half the price of my xz3 when I bought it.
Find a reliable seller for the tool if you wish to proceed.
P.S. Dun ask me source, I don't want to hold any responsibility on it.

Unlock Bootloader for Rog3 A12

THe unlock tool in asus official site is for A11 and my android is A12, So then how would i proceed to unlock bootloader in my device?
I have a similar problem on my ROG Phone 3 Tencent edition, If you don't have OEM Unlock in the Developer settings, I think that the only way for now is rollback to Android 11 using the firmware on ASUS website wiping your phone.
I've done that, but whith te tool provided by ASUS, I still can't unlock it, it just restart the phone whitout doing anyting.
Furthermore my PC doesn't recognize my phon in Fastboot mode (Yes I'm using side port and original cable).
