[EOL][ROM][UNOFFICIAL][BETA][ARTEMIS][EAS] AOSiP10 Quiche Android Q Beta - Essential Phone ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

Your warranty is now void blah blah blah I'm not responsible for your toaster going rogue on you.
LAST AOSiP10 BETA BUILD?? SEE THIS POST - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80702799&postcount=86
EOL = THIS ROM IS NOW FINITO! AICP15 COMING SOON!
---
Bugs? You tell me. With logs. Pretty stable tho and most stuff working.
Q is still very early on in its development. I find it works decently enough for a daily driver.
Trees used are on my github. Kernel tree so mods don't delete the thread: [url]https://github.com/celtare21/kernel_essential_msm8998-1[/URL]
NOTE: This thread is maintained by me. The ROM is built by KuranKaname using his own sources (which you can see above).

Thank you so much for your work
Just one question: is the trusted face (face unlock) working? Thank you very much, I'll test it out and I'll let you know if are there any bugs ?

Thanks! Myself I know that trusted face is from the gapps selection, which right now it's pretty minimal so it's not present. Haven't tried installing P one or Pixel dump one tho

First update is live, edited link in thread

Does this support f2fs like your other builds ?

I've tried flashing pie open gapps but they won't install as it detects the Android version as incompatible.
I also found this one: cyanogenmods.org/downloads/bitgapps-for-android-10-download
But when I flash it from twrp, the ROM won't boot anymore.
Can you fix it plz?

Man, i love you!
Now it's time to switch to Android 10!
Edit: It looks like ROM download link is not working, can you fix please?

Gapps will come with time, the packages are still alpha/beta

Lineage has too few customization options. I hope other roms will appear earlier. Do you know if it will appear within a month?

Flash ROM
Flash twrp
Reboot twrp
Flash Gapps
then magisk if you want.

Am I being dumb? The gapps package doesn't install anything. No Play Store, no setup on first boot. Just doesn't do it on a completely clean install.
Third flash is a charm I guess. Weird... Still no setup on a factory reset though which sucks since you can't restore your info from Google.

Yeah there's no setup wizard. But don't worry, compiled Aosip Q and put in built in pixel gapps. Will release later

That is not something I know. I only have tried it on CyanogenMod Official builds.
I can only assume it might, I just don't personally run anything but the Official builds or my own Unofficial builds (that are not posted or really any different than CMs right now).

If you flash the snapshot on a CM13 NIGHTLY it will have issues. This is the whole reason for 2 versions.
One for SNAPSHOT CM13 builds and one for NIGHTLY builds.

@ZX64 Would you be willing to make a zip for the snapshot builds that has just the cool blurred lockscreen, Maxx, Gallery Next, and Theme chooser? And it'll work with Sultan's CAF builds, correct?

Okay so..
A: I do not know what to pull to get the COS lockscreen with blur. That is why it is not listed as an included feature.
B: I will not flash Sultans build even for testing bugs. I ONLY support Cyanogen/CyanogenMod official ROMs or my own personal builds I don't upload or release anymore.
So any other ROMs.. They're hit or miss and I will not change my packages for them.
If you feel a need to change them.. You can easily do so with basic understanding of English and RAR (Play Store).
Sorry but I've learned the hard way about compensating for Custom ROMs. It gets too crazy too fast.
These are as universal as it'll get.
Which version should I use for Sultan's ROM?
I want just cortana and themes
Need I any others libs put somewhere into system? Because cortana and even themes don't work.
Is cortana worth anyway?
I know you don't support custom roms but let's say I have official cm build and want only cortana what should I do?

Another way to find the files you need to remove is to look in the addon.d folder. The script lists every file installed, and backed up for ota update compatibility.
If I remember right.. All the maxxaudio files are in a group so you'd only have a list of what to remove

[GAPPS][8.0][ARM/ARM64][DAILY] OPENGAPPS Oreo - Unofficial

As previously mentioned I have copied this thread to Android software development, so more people can learn about it. I have also moved my files and will now be uploading to Android File Host without mirrors, since they is a waste of time, AFH works great.
You can find the new thread here and subscribe to it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-opengapps-oreo-unofficial-t3681960
I will not be updating this thread anymore so you won't miss anything. Please also post comments there since I won't be active here that much.
Another new thing is that I will be updating packages every two days, since firstly I don't have that much time available, but mostly because the apps itself don't get updated every day which means you are basically flashing the same apps twice.
That's about it, hope you join us on the other thread

Yes, that's the best option. But let's say you have installed the pico package and now you want gmail as a system app. You can now dirty flash the micro package which will remove and replace all the installed apps and also install gmail and other apps from the micro package as system apps.

No, they're pretty much always the same, probably hidden somewhere in the pico package so if there was an update it would be installed anyway. The only other apps not available in the playstore would be Google Camera, Pixel Launcher and Pixel Icons (maybe others too).

This happens on some roms, it's probably not the gapps's fault. After flashing remove the sim tray. Finish the setup and insert it again. DON'T insert it when it asks you to or it will force close again.
Since you've already flashed just remove the sim tray and reboot again.

It's a community port , so no alien-dalvik (Android apps support) is available, maybe with anbox.. in a really distant future.

With aptoide, is it possible to install and use chrome or maps for example, if Google play services aren't installed ?

Thanks, it's good to know before testing.
I'm not familiar with Sailfish.
Do you know un website where I can find the alternative apps (web browser, cloud, gps, etc) ?
Flash LOS 14.1
Since you flash lineage first, can you boot it and use it as a normal Android?
That would be good to have a multi boot android/sailfish/utouch/kaios/else and avoid multiple rom.
I wonder if sailfish replaces some LOS file while being flashed.

I tried reflashing the LOS boot.img, and nope it didn't work =(. It gets stuck at boot animation. Maybe because sailfish disables some services that conflicts with the hybris layer. Will study that possibility later.

OpenRepos site is an alternative, for convenience you can install the storeman app on your device, which is a client for openrepos.
Thanks.
Can the last build be used for a daily usage or it's too soon ?
And stupid question : how can we install an app or a repo, with Saifish OS ?
Command line, like the linux os ?
EDIT : I finally installed this port.
Looks nice, but I'm lost to install any app.
I could install the rpm for Storeman, but asks me to activate the repository. Can't see how to do that...

Stable GSI Rom for A6 2018 (A600G)

So after Trying different PIE GSIs, I Found a less buggy GSI rom. It's "RR-P-v7.0.3-20191112-A64-A.img" that i found on @turbolukex5 thread on this link. https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...iscussion/gsi-expressluke-built-gsis-t4003457
basically i tested camera, BT,in call audio, Fingerprint and Mobile Hotspot. So far they work pretty nice. The only thing that doesn't work as of now is the MTP. So you need to reboot to TWRP to transfer files on storage.
If this thread is prohibited, kindly remove it. I just want to share what i found today. Thank you.

AICP 16.1 (android 11)

Ive noticed this ROM doesn't seem to be listed on here anywhere but I've been running it for a few weeks now. The official build is on the AICP website with weekly updates that install perfectly through the built in updater. I hope the AICP team is okay with this post. If not, please remove.
It's not the most unique ROM out there but it is the best I've run out of every ROM I've tested on here, which is all of them. My first reaction to the pink background option for the daytime theme was "WTF" until I realized that it makes everything visible regardless of the level of sunlight or glare, and at the highest brightness puts no strain on the eyes.
Personally, I decided to switch kernels because the one built-in was geared towards battery life...like 36-48hr battery life, but otherwise this ROM is tough, reliable, the fingerprint sensor responds immediately, and everything works flawlessly. You can set separate themes for day and night, there's signature spoofing, a built in debloater to just click to remove any preinstalled package you don't need, and a selinux switch. Audio mods and magisk modules that have given me issues on all other roms work well on AICP. If you check the OnePlus 8 forums youll see the Thread for AICP there, and it will give you a fairly accurate idea of what to expect. The built in launcher is the best I've come across as well IMO.
For those who haven't tried it, check out Mull browser. It's a stripped version of Fennec with a great Sync feature and some good extensions. It's only available on Fdroid I believe. I was a dedicated Bromite user until I came across it about a week ago, and I never even liked Fennec...still don't.
Yes they started the update, but i don't know why they didn't inform about it in xda????

You'll get an update every week, just look in aicp extras, go to updates, click download and install but don't reboot. Then go to magisk assuming you're using it and click install to other slot. After you see Magisk finish patching the new stock boot image you can go back to the update section and click restart. I turn all of my modules off before I update and turn them back on when I'm done I haven't had any issues. The only place I can find any support regarding this rom was by joining Discord. Join the Aicp channel. I switched to MCD Kernel because I wanted a bit more performance. The battery life with the included Kernel was more than I needed! This ROM comes with aicp recovery so on a first-time Flash be sure you refresh TWRP or whichever recovery you're using.

I flashed this last week but I'm on Verizon and it has the RTT screen pop up when I make a call. If it wasn't for that it would be perfect. Hopefully someone can fix it.

So I went and read through the RTT docs. One way to make sure RTT is disabled is to remove it from the carrier configuration, lol. So I went and did just that:
UPDATE: So, I found a better way to do this that doesn't break everything else. You can go to /data/user_de/0/com.android.phone/files and edit the carrierconfig file there, mine was called carrierconfig-com.android.carrierconfig-89148000001882338238-1839.xml. Change the following line:
<boolean name="rtt_supported_bool" value="true"/>
becomes
<boolean name="rtt_supported_bool" value="false"/>
And reboot! After that, RTT shouldn't be a bother anymore. This is a bit of a hack, but it works! XD

Thank you, AluminumTank! This edit works. It works on Lineage OS, Fork Lineage OS and should work here!

Oh?! I used root explorer, then clicked on "R/W", then made the edit, saved. Root explorer then told me that it saved the original under a different extension. I can see the two files. Then, I rebooted and it stuck.

I just reflashed this ROM again and made the edit just as you described with root explorer which is exactly what I did in lineage but the RTT window still pops up.
