[KERNEL][Dispossible]A kernel for EMUI9.0 or ROMs based on EMUI9.0 - Honor Play ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Deve

I just made few changes on the official open source kernel. Maybe I will continue to add some new functions.
My last post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-play/how-to/flash-kernel-to-disable-selinux-emui9-0-t3951264
Some features:
This kernel is based on the official open source kernel.
This kernel allows users to use "setenforce 0" or "setenforce 1" to change the status of selinux.
This kernel unlock some schedulers of CPU and GPU which were hidden.
======FBI Warning======
It was only tested on my phone...
The phone is COR-AL10 and the system is offcial AEX of View 10.
I don't know whether it could work on L29 or official EMUI9.0.
I know it will not work on EMUI8 or other 8 systems.
I don't konw whether it could cause hardware damage to your phone.
=====================
Introducions:
1. Maybe we can backup the kernel first.(If you are brave, you can skip this step.)
I used the mt manager 2.0 (free editon) to copy the /dev/block/by-name/kernel_a to somewhere interesting.
Then we reboot the phone and hold the vol- to enter the bootloader mode.
2. We can use this command to flash the kernel.
Code:
fastboot flash kernel xxx.img
3. We can use this command to reboot.
Code:
fastboot reboot
4. If there are any problems after flashing this kernel, you could flash the official kernel or your backup kernel.
ps. Flashing kernel could not cause losing data. But I suggest you do a backup.
pps. Why we flash the kernel to change the selinux status? Because the official kernel don't allow user use the command "setenforce" to change the status. It means that the status must be "enforcing". Now you can use the command "setenforce 0" to make the SELinux interesting.

Most of ROMs can recognize the notch. The left side of the bar will push some icons of apps. If there are too many icons, the system will only leave suitable icons and the last one will be replaced by a dot to tell you there are more messeges. And the right side of the bar can show the battery, bluetooth, WiFi, LTE, signal etc. But if we set too many icons on the right side, the system will only show a part of them and no prompt.

In my opinion, AEX may be the best one. You can use V10's AEX ROMs.

Is there a reason why the V10 has so many ROMs while this device is pretty much dead development-wise? Is the V10 much more popular? I know the bootloader is locked but at least the Honor Play can be unlocked "easily" with a hardware modification.

V10 sold very well, so there are a lot of ROMs. And maybe PLAY has no way to unlock for free

V10 sell well and have more users. And early V10 can unlock for free. In China we can spend 100CNY(around 14USD) to unlock in Taobao without "hardware modification". I don't known the unlock way all over the world.

I tested it on emui9.0.0.156, it's ok. I don't use other EMUI9.0 version. The greatest significance of this kernel is to unlock SELinux. And I unlock some schedulers, it is useless in EMUI.
Just try it....If the kernel dont work, just flash stock kernel. If you dont know how to download or extract stock kernel, you can use huawei's erecovery connect to wifi to download stock rom to fix phone, or use HiSuite to fix phone.

How did you disable dm-verity? Patch the boot image with the no-verity zip from nethunter?
With the removal of TNL does the Google Location Provider now provide the location information?

Google maps showed me my correct location while beeing inside my house. So i guess it is working right. If not we still have the option to flash/install opengapps to make it run as designed.

Yes, I have an idea. You didn't read and/or under-stand what you have to flash and what not. You don't have to flash the kernel (it's just in case you played with other kernels, so you don't need to flash the whole system). The thing you have to flash before is the universal Bootstack from the LOS thread. For removing the pin do the following in TWRP:
head to Advanced > File Manager, and go to the /data/system folder. Scroll down and find the two files with the .key extension. Delete both of them (by tapping on the file and then tapping the “Delete” button). Then, delete all the files containing the word locksettings.

I flashed the kernel now the gps its ok(so no problems for me) .dont use the latest twrp 3.1 it has some bugs.
best regards.
I understand you kept this close to stock, but I have 3 questions.
Does it support Live Wallpaper? (stock B02 doesn't)
Can you turn off the lock screen 'None'?
Does it run Daydream smoothly?
You need to put it in the viewer to really tell. I tried on other ROMS, but it was super choppy and jittery to the point of nausea.
Very good battery life, but no MTP connection possible. It's the same fault as with all LOS based roms (based on 7.1.2).

[OFFICIAL] [TWRP] [SM-G9600] starqlte/chn

ONLY FOR Qualcomm SM-G9600
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
This will trip knox to 0x1, your phones warranty will be voided, flash at your own risk. Also, this process will wipe your personal data!
HOW TO INSTALL:
0. Make sure you enabled developer settings by pressing the build number several times and have the OEM unlock enabled. Also make sure you run CROM from the galaxy apps store to unlock the bootloader.
1. Boot into download mode by pressing: bixby, volume down and power
2. Download the latest Odin version, open it
3. Download the recovery file from below and put it into the AP tab
4. Untick "auto reboot" in odin and flash the file
5. After flashing, boot into twrp. Make sure to NOT allow system to be modified till you disable dm-verity! (otherwise your phone will be stuck at bootloop).
6. In order to fully and properly root, you will need to flash my kernel found here and flash Magisk.
7. To disable encryption you need to flash this RMM_patch+forceencrypt_remover.zip for pie or multidisabler.zip and forceencrypt_disabler_q.zip for Android 10 and format data. (can opt out of the forceencrypt_disabler if you want but internal storage will be inaccessable)

Good job, as always you do high quality projects.
With GPU prices increasing exponentially over the past few months, it’s been hard to price out a good phone. This particular phone took us nearly a year to see; getting all the parts together was a challenge. (TK, our video producer, delivered the last piece of the puzzle after the Consumer Electronics Show in January.)
Our goal was to show what a decent budget can get you in an Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, and what kind of performance you can expect from it. Thanks to Travis, Samsung and XDA, we were able to do just that.
Cheers,
Cricrocra.

Well, I just waited to see the "OEM Unlock" Bootloader on the developer options, and I skept the CROM app, and on Odim I just Installed TWRP without any issues.
The prob was when I boot into TWRP and tried to install the custom kernel, TWRP couldn't see my internal storage just tell me "0Mbs" I do not have an extarnal SD card, so I couldn't install the kernel, I restarted the phone with a Data error, so I just format data and back to normal state. I have an 9600 Latin America Version, and I didn't need the CROM apk. Maybe is there a way to fix TWRP to "see" the internal storage.
Bear in mind, this is TWRP 3.2.1-0 and it is so slow that is barely usable

you just activate developer option, and after 7 days using your phone, you will see inside developer options the "OEM Unlock" option, just activate it, your phone will wipe all your data partions, and after it boots, you just wait 7 days more, when you see the option "OEM Unlock" activated in developers options, you jusr run odin and install recovery, you do not need CROM (If you phone is latin america version), if it's china, just run CROM.

When installing custom recovery (TWRP) on your device, for the full TWRP functionality, you should format the internal memory (Data section) of the device using TWRP itself, since the "Data" section on Meizu smartphones is encrypted, I highly recommend it before installing custom recovery , on creating backups using the internal Flyme firmware (after creating the backup, it is located in the "backup" folder of the internal drive), as well as copying all the necessary data from the phone’s internal memory to the computer!
NOTE:-No One shall be responsible to any damage ocurring to your device
Doubts and queries are welcomed .
Hi, but doesn't this only work on Qualcomm processors? How does it work on a Meizu Pro 7 which is a Mediatek? I tried it on my Meizu M5C and it doesn't work.

Yeah you r right and this guide is also taken from meizu 16th only, but this is tested now because qualcomm devices requires port_traces.txt and unlocked bl.bin files whereas for pro 7 we are using to res.dat which uses fastboot driven commands only.. Thats why it got successfull. I am also posting pictures for proof. (Shared by diabloss).

i know you have already tried this method with your device and it didnt worked. I am not sure that m5c will get another method in future or not. Bcoz we also got lucky with pro 7 that it got successful by the help of guide ported from Meizu 16TH a Qualcomm device.

i am not sure about this but yeah 5$ is not a big cost for this. Like sincerely there is no other verified method to work and unlocking bootloader gives u many advantages. You can have magisk now and various other thing . You can directly flash service firmware now by flash tool. Custom roms are also there. Like 5$ dollars for a mediatek device is reasonable.
In this TWRP, could we install anny official ROM (Global or Chinese) in it's standard form (update.zip)? Or some file modification in the zip archive is required?

Some users reported that they can directly install the official update zip. But i would recommend you to modify the updater script before flashing. You can request your firmware to make it TWRP flashable we can help you with this.

Well, it would be nice if some very talented enthusiast developer or team of devs would build a custom ROM based on Android 8 or higher (if it's possible, of course).
I saw there is single custom ROM, AOSP, but it's still based on Nougat, like stock Flyme. This makes it uninteresting for me, because it brings nothing new over already very-good-full-of-options Flyme ROM based on Android 7.0.
Maybe time will bring us custom ROMs based on a newer Android, at least Oreo.

theoretically its not possible to update android version.. Because we dont have the source code to develop a higher version kernel .. But still there is a hope to port a rom based on android 8 but cant sure for stability.

I remember that Lenovo P2 smarthone officially stopped at Android 7 but people could install different custom Oreo, Pie and Q ROMs. This means that Lenovo published the source code?

Lenovo P2 is a snapdragon device. The source code and device tree can be found easily. Unlike mediatek , snapdragon never hides such things that's why the development is high on SD devices. Mediatek released kernel sources till Helio p10 then never disclosed anything. For higher android version roms we have to port kernel to higher version. Meizu pro 7 is right now on 4.4.15 kernel ver. For higher version we need kernel of 4.4.15+. I hope i cleared your doubts.

So, it's all about the source code, kernel sources and so on.
From my point of view (and my knowledge), there are two major steps or two issues that need to be addressed to successfully develop ROMs and kernels for a phone:
1. As you said, the source code must be released publicly.
2. The bootloader must be unlocked (or easy to unlock), for all these mods and kernels to be installed through a custom recovery (IF a custom recovery is developed).
Please correct me if I'm wrong (I'm seeing these things from consumer/user point of view, not like a programmer/developer/coder).

Need persist.img from latest global rom

Camera doesn't film horizontally. I thought the problem is with auto rotate so turned it on but camera still films vertically. Watched some videos but then the screen would stay horizontal even after exiting the video. Did some googling and found out that the sensors are not working and need to flash persist.img. Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

You must download a FASTBOOT rom and not a ZIP.
Once unpacked Fastboot version let acces to all the rom content.

Hmm on Xiaomi's page are only zip files with stock roms. I don't understand what fastboot rom means. It's the third device I'm rooting and using customs roms etc. So I'm not totally newbie but fastboot rom?? I extracted the boot.img files for flashing it via fastboot. But....
Do you have a source for fastboot roms?

Well, installing custom roms has its own advantages and disadvantages.
(just like everything in life, so get over it)
Personally, I had to install twrp and a new miui ROM, because the message that miui says while updating "Do not power off your phone" was playing with my mind and i pulled the battery off
Then it blacked out and lit up on a screen saying "The system has been destroyed, hold the power button to shutdown"
Imagine how it could be
Either way a custom ROM is better than the default one.
But i dont recommend you to do it now because there might be an issue with SafetyNet right now if you install a custom ROM
You should do much more research before installing custom roms or rooting
What i recommend is that you wait some time more to get this issue out of the way.
P.S.: If you fail safetynet test you wont have any acces to Netflix and most banking apps

But custom rom can be installed without rooting. So then also safety net will not work ?
Google realeased a new update that checks if the bootloader is unlocked
and the only way to lock it after flashing ROMs is to do a complete format and reinstall the original ROM, it replaces twrp or anything else with the original ROM (miui in our case)
So dont install roms
Okay. Thank you. I just wanted a reason not to install. Now is the end of custom rom I think majority will now no more root or install custom rom because of safety net. Copyright, Security & Privacy are now priority in today's world.
Some other members just found the solution but it supports only Android 10 & 11

[ROM][10.0][Xiaomi Mi 9][UNOFFICIAL]LineageOS 17.1 CLEAN, STOCK + Signature Spoofing [2021-01-21]

** Standard Disclaimer: Unlocking your Bootloader will Void your Warranty. I take no responsibility for this or for any bricked devices. These thing should go without saying at this point, but there they are. If you are here, I assume you are familiar with LineageOS, TWRP, and moving from MIUI to AOSP-based ROMs**
I've built a clean version of LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 9 that includes Signature Spoofing, but no other modifications.
This will allow those who are interested to get full MicroG support without the need of using any sort of Patcher or Magisk/XPosed Module. YOu all may have used my previous LineageOS Clean,Stock ROM and this is just an updated build of that ROM + Signature Spoofing to make life easier for those who want MicroG.
I flashed this and followed the simple steps of installing F-Droid, adding the MicroG Repo, and Installing the necessary packages via F-Droid and confirmed MicroG Self-check passes all the tests (once you finish granting the necessary permissions for each).
I prefer this over the NanoDroid or other patching methods as a much cleaner way to use MicroG with LineageOS.
Proprietary Blobs/Device Tree are DRG-Developer's as referenced in their post: here
Kernel source is by DRG-Developer: here
Xiaomi Hardware package used is the primary LineageOS from their github here
My reason for this is that there does not seem to be an officially-supported build for our device on the LineageOS for MicroG project or a recent, unofficial build.
What Works:
Pretty much everything from what I can tell
Fingerprint Sensor it working like a champ so far.
DT2W/DT2S
NFC Seems to be working but I don't have a device to test against
Known Issues:
You tell me...
Download:
849.98 MB file on MEGA
mega.nz
Prerequisite:
Make sure you are running a current AOSP/MIUI ROM with the latest firmware flashed and TWRP Installed
Install:
From TWRP:
1) Wipe Date (standard wipe)
2) Format Date ---> 'yes'
3) push ROM zip to /sdcard/
4) Flash ROM zip
4b) - OPTIONAL - Flash Magisk Zip for Root
5) Reboot to system
If you want to to install MicroG, just follow the steps outlined here in the "Install" section to get F-Droid installed, add the MicroG Repo, and install the handful of apps needed. No need for any of the patching steps.
DRG-Developer's device trees were last updated on 2020-10-18 so expect this build to reflect that. So far everything seems to function very well.
Does it support GApps too or it's only for MicroG?
Edit:
I test it and It's working well with GApps
Thanks for your build.

Sure,
I'm using this ROM for daily use since yesterday and seems like very stable since now and battery life is good.
I missed `Internet Band-with Speed indicator` and `three finger swipe screen shot gesture` that I think these features are not available in LineageOS.

Hi,
I've just unlocked my device and flashed Mauronofrio's TWRP afer that, i've installed this rom. And everytime it seems to be bootlooping. Showing the MI logo and after that it turns off and goes back to the Mi logo again. I've tried flashing it a few times, wiping data / system ETC. At the moment I'm restoring it with flashtool to get it back working. But am I doing something wrong?

Did you wipe data AND "Format" Data? When you Format data is asks you to confirm by typing "yes" in the TWRP Recovery. Try Wiping and Formatting data, then push the ROM to the phone and Flash.
Ah that was probably it. ADB Sideload wasn't co-operating so i've flashed the rom first and after that wiped + formatted the data. Thanks! I've just restored the phone but will try this later again.

Your rom is really simple stock rom, but there is something that I can't make it work. Waze has been my pain, the map dont load and I cant make it run. Anyway you did a good job. You discovered how can we put updates in the rom?

No, you have to double-tap to wake or hit the power button to wake the screen before you can use the fingerprint scanner.

After installing, did you Install F-Droid and enable the Magisk repositories to install the necessary Magisk Modules and Location Backends? Then in the MicroG settings ensure all the checkboxes are checked?
Thanks for making this ROM. Really appreciate it.
The only small issue I am noticing is that my finance apps (example: banking apps, stock trading apps) popup an alert saying that my device is rooted (even though it is not) and this could be a security risk. The apps do still function but its a bit annoying to see this alert every time I launch the app.
Is this because the ROM has been signed with public keys? This alert does not appear when I used the iode OS ROM for Mi 9 or when I use the official Lineage OS for MicroG ROM on my Mi 8.

I'm not sure. It could be the Signature Spoofing aspect. I don't think iode has that and I know stock LIneage does not.
