As i said in private message download the correct firmware and flash with odin
connect phone to laptop via usb cable. keep pressing Volume down and power till phone restarts then keep pressing both volume up and down till a blue screen appear then press volume up.
If flash fail then u use the wrong firmware look at this Letter and number when u look for firmware download.
I use the firmware name for SM-m205FN/DS for explanation
M205FDDU2BSH3
If the odin fail to flash the firmware search for U1 firmware even it's for another country i use my phone in Germany and the firmware is for India
PS. sorry for my bad english

[Q] Lost My Phone to New OJ3 Update its N9208.

Hello Everyone.
I lost my phone after Installing New OJ3 Upadate.
Got My Phone Rooted.
Installed Arter 7 Beta 1.
After Trying to Delete Some Unwanted Apks From System Lost My Phone To Bootloop. So Tried to Download Software From Sam Mobile and that was Older OH4. Googled and Downloaded OJ3 And Tried to Flash Via ODIN 3.10.7 But to No Luck and It Failed.
Since Then I am Stuck at NOTE 5 Screen and No Matter What I do Cannot Get it Sorted.
Now Please Help Me And Provide Detailed HOW TO to Restore My Phone.
My Regards and Respects to All.
first of all you should know that newer samsung phones are not be downgradable to older fw.. So fw version which is installed on your device and fw newer than that can only be flashed.. And, second, what were ur steps during odin flash???
Switch to download mode then make sure latest odin and samsung usb drivers are installed on ur pc,disable keis if installed.. Then connect ur device, tick factry reset and auto reboot and untick re partition..click ap and select the downloaded firmware.. Once md5 check finished click flash..
Ur phn will reboot after flashing and you are goot to go.

I have Got No Idea If Any Other Pit File Would Work Or Not
So Still Waiting With My Bricked Phone for Samsung to Release XME OJ3 Firmware
If Anyone Knows Or Can Guide I will Be Thankful.

as an advice, you can google how to extract pit file from samsung phones..then ask in n9208 page if anyone could provide pit file for you (remember to check correct model no. and internal storage, it matters)

I do not know about the pit file being included while using Smart Switch but I would sure give that a try. I have mentioned it to others as fix but they did not seem to be able to figure out how to use it correctly so I will list the procedure out for you and you can try and see.
Put your phone in Download Mode
Open Smart Switch on your PC
Click More in Smart Switch
Click Emergency software recovery and initialization
Click the Device Initialization tab
Type in your model number using caps for any letters in your model and using the dash where appropriate
Click Search
Type in your serial number again using caps for all letters
You will see a pop up saying that it can be initialized or something like that, click OK
A new pop up will tell you which version it will be initialized to
Click OK then it will start downloading some files
Another pop up will come up telling you how to enter download mode
Connect your phone to the PC and click OK
It will download the firmware from Samsung
If you followed those steps exactly it will work unless you really do need another pit file that Smart Switch does not provide but I do not see why it would not.
Good luck

Confusing galaxy note 5!

I bought a second hand galaxy note 5, on the back cover of the phone the model is written SM-N920C but in download mode is written SM-N920d ! Nevertheless when I check the model at "setting/about the device" the model was SM-N920I
The problem started when my note 5 was flashed with venom rom then I accidentally formated all system files so the phone stuck in Android logo, I tried to flash the phone using Odin and SM-N920c but Odin said FAILED just when I click start. Now the phone is off for the battery is dead and it couldn't be charged , please help me to find the right flash and is there any way to flash it without download mood?
Use Kies and do an emergency recovery. It'll also be able to determine the actual model number. You probably didn't update the bootloader when usong Venom or something. Usually you want to update to the official marahmallow and then flash after that.

Thanks for your comment, I did that already but kies does not support emergency recovery for Note 5 SM-N920c!
I've used it once on my 920c when I initially messed something up. You may need to invoke download mode. Turn the phone off and hold home, volume down and power.
Oh, and there's a modern version of kies which works for modern Samsung phones only.
Did you install a custom recovery immediately after rooting? Always do this first.

N920d or N9200?
In your case, I would go with what is mentioned in the download mode since the back glass can be replaced with another model and ROM flashing can alter model # sometimes.
PS: you need to be sure that it was an original Note 5, not just a copy. I'd recommend taking it to the nearest service center to have it checked out.

Because that firmware does not exist.
It's either 920C or 920CD (for dual-sim) or 9200 for Chinese models.
The first two will have similar firmwares but the 9200 uses different one.
Have you verified exactly which model it is? What does Kies mention when you connect?

As per my search on google, the n920D is Docomo variant.
I haven't been able to find the stock firmware anywhere as of yet.
Flash a custom recovery for your variant (TWRP>others) and then flash a custome ROM that is compatible with 920D.
There must be some on XDA itself.

[Solved] I lost the IMEI when flashing a wrong file

Hi.
I have downloaded and installed by TWRP this BL file;
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261628198
That by mistake I wanted to install this other BL;
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603901376
And now it turns out that when I start I don't have IMEI. How can I solve it?
My device is a;
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F.
Android 8.
I have tried to install a 5-file ROM (BL, AP, CP, CSC AND USER DATA) and ODIN gives me FAIL. When the phone is in DOWNLOAD mode I get a red letter on the bottom that says; SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 8. BINARY: 5.
Please help!!

When I have lost IMEI before, flashing stock filmware has resolved it for me.
You are getting that error in Odin as you are trying to flash bootloader 5 over bootloader 8. You can't downgrade the bootloader version. You need to download the latest filmware.
I take it you updated your phone in the last couple of days to be on bootloader 8. Just download that same filmware and it should flash fine.

First off, did you back up your EFS folder before flashing a rom? You should always do this. If you did, try restoring the EFS with TWRP.
If that fails, flash stock filmware with Odin. The thread below gives you all the information you need to do this. At the end of post number 2, you can download Samfirm, this is an excellent program for Pc that will allow you to download the filmware much faster than a free SamMobile account or Updato.

You can download from SamMobile, you will have to create a free account so you can download. I suggest using ADM (advanced download manager) as your internet is not good, it should let you carry on downloading if it gets interrupted.
Here is the filmware link (SamMobile is safe to use)
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-8/firmware/SM-N950F/XSG/download/N950FXXSADTB1/325565/
If the download in Samfirm stops at any point the download becomes corrupted, and you have to start again! So this way should be better for you (SamMobile)

Maybe it has changed, I have not used it for a good while, you used to be able to download for free but at a very slow speed.
You could try Updato.com, but I'm not sure if it has the latest firmware.

I apologise that ADV seemed to be a virus for you I won't recommend that ever again to someone. It seemed to work fine for Windows Defender...
Really glad you have fixed your issue though :highfive:

S10 got stuck at firmware update.

Hello there, I'm stuck with a situation and I can't fix the phone.
I live in Canada and I bought the phone here (Canadian software version and also unlocked) and gave it to a relative who lives in the USA to use. Recently, she has a firmware update notification from her phone, however, it always gets stuck at 28%, and the download fails. So she plugged the s10 device into her computer and used Smart Switch to download the new firmware. After she finished downloading it, she clicked to install the new firmware on her phone. That's when the problem starts... She got stuck on this screen forever and she even tried to soft reset/restart the phone but it just went back to that screen.
What I think happened was it's a Canadian version phone but the new firmware is the US version and it tried to install and crashed.
Could anyone give me some advice on fixing this problem?

for sure man, i sometimes skip the long winded Odin stuff because ive typed out like 3 paragraphs of Odin instructions and the person i was replying to already knew 75% of what i just typed LOL
aaaaanyways, downloading Odin from a trusted source isnt an issue. Ive downloaded soooo many versions of Odin over the years and from so many different places, i cant imagine an infected Odin. Im sure they exist, but ive never seen one. ive got Odin from here before, and it was fine. Also, yes, youd definitely want to download the canadian version of it. You should be able to flash the U1 version (fully unlocked) so long as you have a snapdragon processor, but youd need whats called "Patched Odin" to do it. The U1 thing is kind of a tangent, but youll find out that there are a TON of rabbit holes you can find yourself in from time to time. The best thing to do is to just flash the FW for the model of phone you own unless you plan on tinkering. sammobile.com/firmwares is where you want to search for the FW and samfirm is an exe youre going to want to use to actually download the FW itself. Samfirm downloads it literally 5x faster.

For the firmware, do I just download the latest one for Canada Version? There are so many links so do I just click on Canada (the one without Provider) and Do i download PDA or CSC or both? My phone is unlocked already btw. Also will i able to flash my phone even though it is currently stuck in the "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH"?
I even tried to you the samfirm to download the firmware but it keeps saying authorization failed after I filled in the blank and clicked update.
Checking firmware for SM-G973W/XAC/G973WVLS4ETK1/G973WOYV4ETK1/SMG973WW12/G973WVLS4ETK1
Error: Could not send BinaryInform. Status code 200/401
Authorization failed

yep. sorry, i forgot to mention that part. Zero worry tho, its just a thing caused by the bootloader that your phone was most recently on being too new for the FW youre trying to flash. Thats whats causing the binary error, the binary currently installed is greater than the one youre trying to install so the phone wont physically allow it. Its not even a software thing, it gets hard coded. Anyways, get the most current one and reflash. It wont fail again with the same reason on the newest firmware, but if it does fail, try a different cable, download the file again. it might have corrupted during the download. If youre not using patched Odin, you literally cant screw it up so badly you cant recover it

thanks you! I used Frija to download the latest Canadian version of the firmware. Next step do I just use the Odin to flash and follow the instruction on sammobile websites? Can I flash the new firmware without deleting data on my phone?

yep, when flashing the 4 parts of the FW, the home_csc will not wipe your userdata, csc will factory reset. let us know if you run into trouble, but you shouldnt have any issues. it sounds like you got this
Thank you so so much! I fixed the phone and it works now. For future firmware updates, I have to do this every time? Is there any option that i can change my firmware permanently to the US version so that I can get auto-update on the phone instead of using ODIN every time?

Note 9 official ROM installation problem

T
Good evening, I bought a second hand Note 9 which rooted, I tried to unroot, it crashed, it did not turn on and remained BLOCKED on SAMSUNG. I downloaded firmware which are in android 8.1 -9 and 10. Nothing. Bad manipulation, a cable that comes loose and voila that nothing works. I tried the emergency RECOVERY with Smart Switch, nothing. I tried again through odin I got the error message on the attached capture (sw rev check fail bootloader device 3 binary). Help me please. thank you in advance

Well, have you any knowledge about how to flash firmware and the right choice file decision on Odin mode, chose latest Android 10 by the way, if you know the device origin, then chose that firmware origins, try to find out what model phone is that, is it SM-N960F, SM-N960N or what, then chose that kind of firmware to flash.
The phone will not let you flash SM-N960N on device SM-N960F, and if you can't find out what model phone is, then chose several different firmware's one by one till it succeed.
