[MIUI] Enable Real QuickCharge 3 on Our Beloved Santoni and other mods - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Themes, Apps, and Mods

edit: in miui 11 (11.0.2 tested), there is no need for anything. quickcharge has been enabled by xiaomi. I just checked with both quickcharger and normal charger. quickcharger shows fast charging and icon.
Hi.
Today I'm sharing my one of sudden discoveries, it's Quickcharge. And Real! It's not any modules or thermal tweaks, it is the enabled of integrated QuickCharge.
May work on all MIUI ROMs, STOCK KERNEL REQUIRED. May/may not work on other kernels. (only custom xiaomi.eu 10.3 stable tested). Custom roms, no support.
Big thanks to ashish注册 from miui forums, my idea just came from his led enabling comment. Different right?

I'm using xiaomi.eu 10.3 stable. The "upper icon of charging" is meant for quickcharge in all xiaomi miui devices, that means here it works. Also Charging Fast is shown at bottom.
I've also enabled some other tweaks here, such as...
1. Display improvement, go to Settings>Display>Colour and Contrast and check.
2. Real HiFi enabled, sound feels better.
3. Audio focus enabled.
4. Camera object tracking enabled.
5. Manual function enabled.
6. Panorama resolution increased.
7. Multicolor LED auto enabled(only on supported devices). Thanks to ashish注册 in miui forum.
8. Low latency TCP enabled. Messenger, WhatsApp messages will be sent faster even when downloading massive amount of files.
9. Some misc, by me...
10. Also I tweaked core control, now only 1 big core stays awake(previous two). Stock Kernel Required. Thanks to @tweakradje..
Download- View attachment QuickCharge3-CoreControl-v1.2.zip
Uninstall all quickcharge mod/fastcharge mod first. Stock kernel required. Uninstall related modules or other mods. Flash this on twrp, turn on your phone until it comes to lock screen, put on qc 3 enabled charger, use correct data cable.
I won't be responsible if anything happens to your device, or get blast or damage. No guarantee is provided, not even tested much.
Also, please don't copy, just give credit. Its my one of the best discoveries...
Note: QuickCharge 3 differs from normal charging mainly in voltage and watts. So in ampere and other apps you may get lower mAh or A while charging, that doesn't mean it's charging slower. --Check this- Quora QuickCharge ampere explanations
Also you need a QC 3 compatible Charger. Check QC on your adapter and google...
I only tested it in xiaomi.eu stable 10.3.
Don't power on the device while on charging, just put on charge when the device is started and on lock screen. You will need to make sure of controlled temperature. Our device heats much. QC is also kind of an AI, knows when to charge safely.
Feedback if not working. I've busy life, don't ask unnecessary questions.

I actually don't know. I don't have time to test farther. Your problem is different, maybe not related to this, it happened sometimes to me also(with custom roms mostly).
Sometimes I see my device filling up 18 percent in 24 minutes(approx.), some times the same as previous 5v charger. Maybe qc technology is different or here in this device, I don't know. Long charging may show differences with controlled temperature.

Thanks for the effort you put into creating this guide. It is quite unfortunate that most people here on XDA are on other ROMS that aren't based on MIUI.

[APP] Mobadi - Mobile Battery Discharger - 1.9.519 beta-build [UPDATE]

Hello XDA-Users,
today i want to present you the first open Version of my Windows Mobile application "Mobadi". Its also my first post here.
This is a little application to discharge and monitor your internal battery.
Actual it will support only different HTC Devices and the Sony Ericsson X1i (Xperia), but Versions for non-HTC Devices are comming up soon. The downloadable Version will already run on VGA and non-VGA Devices.
In some test, Mobadi have increased the used mAh up to 370%! So the Bettery will discharge faster.
On older devices like the Trinity, the Bettery-Percentage are 5% or 10%-Steps. So the Diagram are not so detailed like on the Touch-Versions.
Please be so kind to post your ideas, criticism and comments about Mobadi. But remember, BETA!!
And if you want, please tell me witch device you own that run Mobadi.

Interesting. Can you tell us how the discharge works? What is the current draw in discharge mode?
Hey,
finally it will use different ways to discharge the battery.
The actual implemented:
- Backlight, will be permanently on. The Level can be set in the Options.
- BackgroundWorker, stress the CPU with Math-Operations. (slow down the device while in Discharge-Mode)
Comming up:
- CameraLED (TouchPro)
- Camera Access (still testing, )
- Backlight behind Softkeys (maybe)
All features will actualy be tested.
More detailed Information will have some time. At the moment i use some Devices in a "Laboratory Enviroment" to get some usefull results.
Eisbehr
I;m not any kind of guru or anything, but why would you want to do that to a lithium battery? you **aren't** supposed to do that to lithium batteries. do a little bit of searching using google please.
Well...
To store a LiIon battery, you should discharge it to
about 40% and keep it room temp.
That could be feature, to discharge it untill a certain level .
(but never 0%, although I guess the manufacturer already built
in such protection or safety margin)
to complement my last post:
I do test the power drain of my devices.
That way I can calculate what kind of car adapter I need to not let
it discharge while using hsdpa and wifi simultaneous
(to share internet to the car-pc )
But most of the times I measure by observation..
Some ROMs perform better than others. This tool could provide insight.
Hello all,
yes mr.jaguar, you are right. I think you mean that a LiIon-Battery have no memory-effect. But here are some of my Ideas:
- At first, LiIon-Batterys will have no memory-effect. But older Devices may have NiHM-Batterys.
- Its nice to see, witch Application will stress the Battery or to see the drain while call somebody or browsing the internet, with wlan enablend/disableb, and many more ...
- Also, its not only for Discharge. You can use it for monitoring in normal use, and also, can monitoring the Battey-Charging.
- I use it, to drain the last 2-10% befor i will charge my Device. Not needed for LiIon, i know ... but ... in german, we call it a "tick".
to LiIon:
- The LiIon lifetime is round 500 load and discharge cycles. Also the time of use will reduce the lifetime. To see how fast your battery will lost his capacity or to compare with other Battery/Devices you can use this tool.
- LiIon Batterys will have "fixed" Voltages. To check this, you can use it too.
As you see, there are different ways to use it, may be there are many more ways. Try it at your own...
Greets,
Eisbehr
@mr. mr.jaguar:
Today i have do some test with my HTC Trinity. In normal/idle mode the device use 40 till 70 mAh. In discharge-mode with only one BackgroundWorker it will use 145 till 151 mAh. So, it will increase between 200% up to 370% of the normal usage.
On an Touch Cruise in normal Mode it will be 177mAh, in dicharge 257 mAh. So an increase about round 150% of the normal Useage.
So, the Betterymust be dischargeing faster.
More detailed tests will come ...
Now i will Upload the Version for Non VGA divices from HTC.
Please wait wihle the Version 1.9.519 will be uploaded.
Tested on Trinity, Touch Cruise, p3300 and Touch Pro.
THANKs
Nice App.. Thanks for Sharing!!
Works great on my HD
While I know they say its not good to fully discharge these batteries, I have noticed some improvement after flashing a new ROM. It seems like the battery meter gets more accurate after letting the battery get down to 1-4% then fully charging it before using it again.
So this app would help drain it faster.
While this can be useful to discharge battery completely just for
calibration of battery monitoring unit, it serves no purpose to
"deep-cycle" battery everytime, since it wears out on battery
more than charging it when it's still partially charged (it's like
expanding a spring, it wears out less when you expand it more
frequently, but to lesser extend, than when you force it to expand
to it's limits but less frequently)... I've proved this to myself with
my previous phone (SE P900, with excellent battery, Li-Pol 1260mAh
and 16h of talk time), when I've killed first battery by NiMH "care"
method (discharging completely until phone won't boot + fully
charging) in about one year, while next one used in normal way (frequent
charging when not completely drained) served me for about 2.5 year...
Why do the most people only see a complete/deep discharge?
You can also monitoring the time to drain 10%, or the loading curve?!
No one must discharge till the device is shutting down ...
But if somone need, i can implement a automatically break.
Maybe better idea would be not to drain battery by program,
but to monitor energy consuption and foreground applications,
and then prepare graph of most power-hungry apps?
By comparing power consuption of, for example, Opera, users
can check if they device isn't more hungry than it should be...
not working at my hermes ............ anyone ???
I will try to get a Hermes / TyTn and check this.
But normally i must work. Its still the same WM as on the Trinity.
Witch error you will get?
btw, you can check electromagnetic radiation and see differences between 2G and 3G like this.. as a proof to battery usage differences
You stated one could use this application to also monitor battery usage over normal use by disabling the backlight override and background worker, I am wondering if this does this fully eliminate the negative battery drain increased by this application?
I am currently running a battery drain trail that examines the current raphael radios effect directly on battery life through normal usage and I have been on the lookout for a battery monitor application that does not effect normal usage of the phone nor cause negative effects on battery life.
All of the currently available free applications I have found and tested are either inconsistent in their monitoring of battery life or greatly influence the battery life themselves causing inconsistent drain. While I see the usage of this application and commend you for your work thus far, as a suggestion for the future you may wish to look into creating simply a monitor. One that either every given time interval, kicks the phone out of sleep for a second, logs the battery level and time and goes back to sleep. Or simply logs the battery level and time every instance where the phone is taken out of standby / sleep. Either one would serve the community greatly as a battery application that accurately logs the drain without horribly influencing the battery life. One that any user could run without any major negative effects.

I thought about all sorts of things to suggest, like S2U2, IM+, etc, to drain ones battery, but I see this project does have some merit. I do have one suggestion for another battery draining method; turn on GPS! Or maybe you don't want the battery to drain that fast ;-)

I've checked and found out control file on my phone Mi11ultra's control file for battery charge limit worked. Battery Charge Limit on Android 11 not work like before we known
First, your device require root permission to run Battery Charge Limit, then go to setting
Turn on "Configurable CTRL File Data" and touch "Configure Control Data" then touch "Understand" and type like below:
/sys/class/qcom-battery/input_suspend
0
1
then touch "UPDATE CONTROL FILE DATA" and done, battery charge limit worked
You guys can watch video below for sure: From original control file not work then after re-config control file and work perfectly.
P/s: From 84% to 85% i made app for auto charge limit itself and you guys can go to end of video for result.

I actually think it's very useful if you wanna preserve your battery health a bit more. When I charge the phone it's difficult to unplug it right on 80% unless you're constantly checking the phone since it charges that fast. I usually get distracted and boom, 100% charge. With this app the phone can automatically stop charging at a certain percentage.

A phone is a disposable item and batteries are cheap....
I don't have the time to try and keep the charge level between 30 and 80%
New battery will probably cost $10-20 by the time you need one on Alibaba
is it still working? Do you have any problem? Do you recommend?

Hello Mr Win. It should be the same for all Xiaomi devices.
Finally, now its working on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. Thank you so much
How can we fix the default settings when we uninstall the app.
Hi
I use the entry ....but fir me dont Work
My device Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Touchpad as a 'always on' clock and weather station

My touchpad is still going strong. Amazing this old dinosaur is still working. Sadly it's too slow to do much with. I tried setting it up for my toddler, but after numerous attempts at games and whatnot we've given up - just too slow.
My wife asked me if I could at least make it into a clock. I thought adding weather to it would be nice. I used to have this working prior to installing the latest tenderloin OS, but can't seem to make it work now.
Running ev_tenderloin-9-userbuild-2019.08.30, been running OK for over a year.
It sits in the wireless charging cradle.
The OS doesn't have the 'always on' option in settings. At least not that I could find.
I can not find an app in the play store (after trying half a dozen) which will
a. Be an always on clock
b. include weather
I did find one app called "Clock Weather Launcher Clean" which seemed to show promise of at least handling the clock side of it because it had a setting to make it always on, but it's a pay now test later app which times out after 3min. no real way to test if I don't want to take the risk of pay now.
Anyone have any suggestions to making this work?
As always, thanks in advance.
I have to go back and dig through my files. I had one of mine set up this way some time ago.
One suggestion, use a low wattage wall wart instead of the the wireless stand.
I've had two tablets cook off and swell the battery when left on the stand. YMMV.
I have one tablet in the kitchen performing picture frame duties and it has been running for well over a year.
Would love to see what you come up with. Gotcha on the low watt power...
The Tablet will stay awake while charging by enabling developer mode and activate stay awake.
Disable screen saver and activate expandable desktop to show the full app.
Attached are screen shot of Evervolv 7 and 9, both works the same way.
Widgets can be created to show any information, weather, clock or anything else.
The following was tested with just the ROM installed from this guide:

Weather app install by copy APK to tablet:

There are apps that force display on, but I did not try it.
https://m.apkpure.com/keep-screen-always-on-while-charging-qi-usb-ac/de.russcity.lockmyscreenon
Evervolv 9 Display always ON while charging, using weather app.

The Tablet is the same as any other Android smartphone, but better due to the larger display.
Android can be configure in many different ways, is best to look on-line for what can be done.
You are very welcome!

When you mean " the tablet died", was it due to a physical damage or that the Tablet will not wake up or charge?
Read this post and all others below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/hp-touchpad-debrick-linux-live-cd.4189245/page-2#post-85997517
After the Tablet is 100% charge any other Android charger can be use and it should keep it charge at all time, but it all depends on the screen brightness as that is what it will consume the most power and heat up the battery.
My recommendation if the Tablet will be all time ON adjust screen brightness to medium or less.

Drat, no, the wall wart died, then the tablet of course followed as long as the battery lasted. It came back to life without any issues once I connected it to a decent PS.

General [SHARED] [WORKAROUND] [FIX] A12 fast charge mod working! ringing tone while in calling fix!

Update 4.3.22
Fast charge fix as described 3.3.22
Ringer sound in outgoing calls fix: deactivating wifi and volte calls get back ringer sound while calling
It's a start to get solutions to work over all....
Update 3.3.22
I've found a magisk module where you can set fast charge settings.
I've tried and seems to work fine. Module attached
I've faced it's working in evolution but not in ancient os. In ancient os there's also possible but not comfortable module as before. Module2 attached is working in ancient
not fixed until now: ringing inside calling until recipient pick up isn't present.
Update 2.3.22
It looks like that actually there's no A12 ROM which can really charge fast.
Further more the ringing inside calling until recipient pick up isn't present. Someone find a solution?
Please post here which Android 12 ROM is really working with fast charge.
In a11 I remember a charging time from around 20 to 80 % in around 30 minutes.
In A12 it tools around 1 hour for 40% charging, it's annoying...
It seems to be a common problem for a lot of custom roms. I tried Evolution X which takes 2 hours for full charge with charging speed 2000-2500 mA.
Crdroid does around 2700 mA, which is like a 27 watt charger. On Miui it was like 4000 mA below 30% and then it keeps decreasing.
Or you can try out miui EU rom, I like it better than all other custom roms personally. Fast charging is working perfectly

It seems that actually no OSS ROM supports fast charge....
Only MIUI based seems ok
Update 2.3.22 see post 1
Update fix see post 1
No feedback?
Only leechers?
Outgoing call ringer sound fix in post 1
Do you have a source for either of these modules?
Edit: Found them:

The question is not the source, the question is if it's working?
Which ROM?

You do realize different people are allowed to ask different questions? Most people aren't going to flash random Magisk modules that get posted without a source.

You misunderstood me or I didn't reply in a proper way.
If you're looking my state in XDA you'll know you can believe me that I don't post something which I've didn't tried and of course everyone can ask.
But anyway, again! it's working for you or not?
I'm trying now in combination with acc matte carra, because normally for me it's not necessary to charge over 80% (it's also better for battery life)
Further more I make different zeta profiles for easy switching fast charge amps
These are my actually activated and deactivated modules.

Fast charging module2 works definitely in ancient is.
Around 45 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%
I've been using CrDroid 8.2 for couple of weeks now, fast charging seems to be working just fine without any "Enable Fast Charge" type magisk modules.

Please can you share your charging time to charge from e.g. 20% to 80?
Because I've faced that some apps show miscalculated mA....

I don't really pay close attention to charge times since I usually charge it overnight, but it went from 32%(at the time of taking the screenshot) to 85% in about 40 minutes.
I also checked battery stats usng Inware and CrDroid's lockscreen battery info. Both showed same mA.
have tried the NTH fix on my RN10pro. currently on the Arrow OS A11. installed the 5000 ma/ 30 W module.
will update more on the charging times and current input

If not working try lower module
Installed with 5000 mA/30W option, but it only does 3000-3200 mA at best. Disappointing. Will try the second module and update.
Currently on ArrowOS

How much mA without the module, I mean in standard arrowos?

Is Downgrading from OneUI 4 to 3.1 Possible for s10 Snapdragon?

I have installed the latest update to OneUI 4 on the Snapdragon SM-G973U1.
However, it is a massive battery drainer. In fact checking the system activity with top in ADB shell I can see a constant 30% cpu activity from system server alone when the screen is off with AOD off too!!!
I would prefer to go back to 3.1 if possible because right now the phone won't last a day.
Has anybody been able to do that? Via Odin it would be fine too.
Thanks for any help
I imagine the best option is to install an older firmware version, assuming the BL is still the same. For example, as I look on the firmwares available for SPR (Sprint) there is an A12 (Android 12) version, which I believe includes the new OneUI... but there is also an older A11 version with the same BL version. I expect you could use ODIN to flash back to that version, putting you back on A11 and OneUI 3.1 at the same time. This may require wiping the phone.
If you provide the full PDA number, we can see what would work. Would also need to know what carrier you're on.
I've heard of many issues with A12 in general, so this doesn't surprise me. I think it could be due to A12 and/or OneUI... I'm just glad to know my carrier hasn't updated to it, and probably for good reason.

thank you for helping
this is the version i am using
it is a carrier unlocked snapdragon used in EU
is it B2 indicating the bootloader version?
just to say what is happening with the phone :
it is now super fast and snappy. However, even with the screen off, there is always between 30-35% CPU activity.
the main culprit processes are system server snd zygote64
thus it is constantly eating battery even when left inactive
it's like there is no deep sleep anymore
5th character from the end is the BL version - 6 in your case. From here, you can flash any ROM via ODIN that matches this version.
With that said, you should be able to use any of the A11 versions shown here, for example: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s10/firmware/#SM-G973U1 that ends in "6GUL1"... because the BL matches. Again, this is A11... so you will likely need to wipe the phone after this, just in case.
Also, I said SHOULD be able to use any of those. The reason is that most of these ROMs will auto-update to the proper CSC when you plug in your SIM. HOWEVER, I have run into a few situations where this did not happen... not sure why.
I would recommend pulling the same/matching ROM to whatever you have on the phone already. Take a look at your CSC info, and see what matches that. This is located in Software Information under the Service Provider software version. For example, mine is currently TFN/TFN/SPR. This means my current carrier is TFN (Tracfone). Second TFN is the carrier of the SIM card. Last is what the phone was built with (Sprint, in my case). Ideally, the first two should match to ensure the best connectivity.
if i check with cpuspy it shows that the cpu never goes lower than 670 mhz.
is that expected? i can see the effect on the bump upward in performance, but frankly i would be happier with more battery.
how is it possible to find out the cpu governor without root?
CPU-Z shows me this info. I'm seeing that my phone stays at 672 or higher as well. At least while I'm looking at it quickly right now. It also says that the CPU would go down to 300MHz, but with the screen on I'm not seeing it come that low. Maybe they don't go that low unless you're in a sleep mode or something.
For the governor, that's also shown at the bottom as "schedutil" on my phone right now.
Your concern seems to be about battery life. What are you actually getting for battery life? How old is your phone? Maybe the battery is just worn? I bought my phone "new" off Ebay about a year ago, so there shouldn't be many cycles on it... hence it lasts pretty well. Is your battery health good? What's the shown capacity? Incidentally, that's why I got an S10+, for the larger battery... for me, it can last about 2 days, but for my wife who uses hers MUCH more, it can make it through the day, usually.,,

So after disabling some bloatware
I got the phone to run more or less as before in terms of battery consumption. Until....
I ran GCam (version 8). Which I used to run quite happily before the update with no problems.
Suddenly the phone became so hot, but so hot, I never felt it so hot in years. The battery lost around 30% charge in less than 5 minutes.
I had to switch the phone off and take it out of the protective case in order to allow it to cool down and it took quite long to cool.
I uninstalled the app now. But I wonder if any other one could produce the same effect.
Plus, I really loved that Gcam, it made great pictures (after a lot of fiddling though).
Well, remember, GCam is not an official release, so weird things like that can certainly happen. It just takes finding the right one for your phone, which isn't always easy.
Glad to hear you found it had to do with installed software. Personally, I don't believe the "bloatware" argument, but hey, whatever works (I have all the "bloatware" on my phones and never had a problem... I simply don't use them, that's all). Again, whatever works, so glad you got that figured out.
For GCam, you may just need to find a different one, particularly if you're on A12... there are many complaints from people about issues with app compatibility on A12, and A12 in general, so that doesn't surprise me. Just gotta go looking again, that's all. I assume you're familiar with the GCam Hub here https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/ that's what I've used in the past to get GCam. Honestly, I don't even know which version I have on my S10+ now, but I rarely use it - the Samsung camera does a pretty good job in most cases. I would love to hear what you find out if you find a good working version.
