note8 is a sealed unit

https://a.aliexpress.com/_UrQnE
I bought this one. It's unlikely to be 4100mah but we will see

I didn't try that battery. But i can tell one thing. Chinese business batteries work well in few days and after, it won't last long as the original one. And its not stable. It causes your phone to loss several percent of power in few minutes especially after u unplug ur charger.

Thanks for the answers.
I succeeded to find Samsung battery.

The source was from "fix your phone in your house" co. they get the battery from the official importer co. of Samsung mobile products in my country.
You should find somthing like this in your country.

i've tried fitting note 9 battery onto note 8 successfully swap over the connecting cable by soldering, phone works powering up but too bad the battery is too wide to fit in
the dimensions of the note 8 original battery are: 88 x 39 x 5 (mm) and the dimensions of the note 9 battery are: 87.7 mm x 41.5 mm x 6 mm
looking at the slot seems like it can handle the biggest battery of dimensions 91.5 x 40 x 6 mm
i found s7 active battery looks identical but couldn't get my hands on the dimensions
if anyone knows the dimensions or know any bigger capacity battery which may fit do share the info here, really appreciate that

Trade my Acer A500 for Galaxy Tab?

So I saw the deal on Bestbuy.com and I'm thinking about selling my a500 for this tablet. I love my tablet but the battery life just isn't there and I feel like its taking away from the portablet aspect of it. My main concern is losing USB and HDMI. I've read nothing but good reviews for this tablet so I know its an amazing tablet. But not everyone had a tablet capable of those tasks like USB and HDMI. So they may not "understand" what its like to have those. They aren't that crucial, but I did like hooking my a500 up to my LCD TV. Has anyone made a switch of this sort and is it a good idea to do this? thanks for any help and input.
I took advantage of this deal and I am really enjoying it. I have rooted mine and installed Galaxian Soup AOSP ROM and it has made the experience a lot better. As for HDMI out and USB I know there are several adapters you can get if you needed this functionality.
Here are the two Samsung adapters:
USB / SD
HDMI out
Were you able to the free dock with it? It's telling me I still can but when I add the tablet to my cart I don't see the dock anywhere.
Also, how is the battery life? I've seen the speculated battery life but what is actual usage?

Yes, i also get about 9 hours of screen on time with one charge.
If i got less than seven hours of screen on time it would be warranty time. That's not right unless you somehow killed your battery, let it run down to zero much?
No...I used it for about 3 total hours..and the battery lasted 48

You can also search on Amazon (almost every one of the 10.1 accessories USB & HDMI) appear to work. I always check the review first to see if someone has attempted it before ordering. I ordered my USB & SD Reader Monday and they should be here today.
If that is the only thing holding you back I'd say jump on it, and see if they are still offering the free dock (BB Website is down otherwise I'd tell you if it is or not).
***the official Samsung 10.1 adapters do work. Deal is still live as of today 3/29.
Best Buy is back up and it still shows the special offer. But when I add it to my cart, the dock isn't added. Any ideas?
When I purchased the tab, the dock was added to the cart automatically. You could try to search for the dock and add it to cart individually and see if the price is reduced. Maybe they ran out of docks or the promotion has ended.

yeah that worked, adding it manually. thanks
I have owned an iPad 1, iPad 2, HP Touchpad, and and ASUS Transformer. This is by far the best tablet I have ever owned and have used it the most out of any other tablet. I have the USB adapter and multimedia dock. Getting my Keyboard dock tomorrow when I go to work(it's been there since yesterday, but just now got released. ). I plan on ordering the HDMI adapter and a couple cases to try out later.

[q] nexus one battery - ???

Hey all,
I have had my Nexus One, since it came out, in fact it was given to me by Google themselves, I love the phone, and thanks to a combination of treating it well, screen protectors and an Otterbox Commuter case it is still in absolute pristine condition and I don't want to part with it. I have also put Cynogen mod on it and a top of he range 32-gig SD card, so it does everything I need.
Also I am on a great sim only contract with 3, and don't want to change it to get a phone from three, when I already love the phone I have.
However the Battery is starting to fade and I need to replace it, and after looking over the web I see that there are a lot of rubbish one's out there and it is very easy to get duped.
So I was wondering if any of you kind folks at XDA developers have had any positive experiences of buying a new battery for the Nexus One.
I would be happy with standard 1400Ma replacement, but would ideally like to increase this a little bit, but don't want to change the back or look of this classic phone in anyway.
I would like to thank you for you time in this matter, and look forward to hearing your lively replies.
Kind Regards - Ashe.

Hey thanks for the reply, much appreciated, however any chance you could post me a link to a reputable dealer, and do either mugen or anker do a battery that fits under my original cover but has a genuine greater capacity than, the stock 1400Ma Battery,
Kind Regards Ashe
I would just check eBay or amazon, there is plenty of security there. And yes both out perform the oem and are the same size

Thanks Old Sport, have ordered a 1600Ma Mugen off Ebay, hoping to get a little better battery time off this one than the original, and that after I upgrade my ROM to Kit Kat, it will give my phone at least another 18 months of serviceable life, (really don't like the current crop of giant, android phones, always thought that the Nexus one was the perfect size compromise as well as a design classic)
Kind Regards - Ashe

It's always a good idea to buy a Note 4, provided that you absolutely need the Spen. If you don't, then maybe you should look for something else.
But if you intend to use the Spen extensively, then Note 4 looks even better than the Note 5. For a relatively affordable price, you get replaceable battery, memory slot and you can install a Note 5 rom, making it absolutely the same in the software sector. The Note 5 has a much more capable hardware on paper, but probably you won't notice that in everyday use and in most situtations.
The deciding factor is the Spen. Do you need it? If yes, get it. If you don't, look for something else.

thanks guys,
I am little confused with note4 and moto x style...I was using note 2 and not 3 before then I shifted to one plus 2.
I thougt without sd card I will be able to manage but I guess its quite difficult thats why I want to buy a phone with sd card. Moto x style is good one with lowr price also but its not having OIS and camera is not so good in low light conditions.
How is note 4 camera. Do you guys recommend to buy note 4?
Note 4 is the best phone I have ever owned it's still competing with today's flagship especially with root and unlocked bootloader the battery is amazing camera is high quality and I have never ran out of space with a 128gb SD card and 32gb on board memory I would suggest if you get the note 4 get the snapdragon variant. But like other have said if you don't use the spen you can get a on paper better phone with the same price range, but that note 4 amoled screen is very hard to compare to.

Well, without spen also I am not able to find any phone within same price range which is as good as note 4.
Note 4 screen --resoultion + size
removable battery,
sd card
infra red
3 GB ram
CAMERA (OIS + 16MB)
I am looking for good screen (5.5 to 5.7) 3GB RAM, good camera,sd card support.
Do you know any phone better than note4 in above features.
Post no. #4 is the kind of post why i get angry for the sheer stupidity!
Note 4 at 30k is still the best phone out there, end of story. One Plus 2 nice, but only the camera is better. I myself was confused between X Style and Note 4, ended up with the latter, glad I did. Motorola would win in terms of software only, that's it. For Note 4 you only compromise with the software, TW (it's not that bad anyway), and get quite a lot of other this which other phones can't even dream about providing.
Go for it.

You won't find a more full featured phone in that price range that will compare with a note 4, and the spen is just a topping on the cake that makes it that much more useful. There are a bunch of amazing Roms that ported the note 5 features and cleaned up touchwiz to the point where it actually is a great Ui the only phone I would think of getting instead of a note 4 is the new nexus.

You have mentioned nothing about the Spen. You also had Note 2 and 3, but it was easy for you to shift to OPT.
I think it's obvious that you do not have a great need for the most stand out feature of the Notes. In that case, you should probably go for another phone, there are so many good phones out there these days.

You can get even better devices. Note 4 surely is great one I myself use note 4 but after what sammy did with 6.0.1 i think note 4 users should use a ported rom to do justice with the hardware. So in comparison to that there are many devices. Htc one me camera just go and look at the camera of that device. Hence my point of view. If you didnt like it then talk respectfully.

Hahaha yupp iPhone sucks i say it too but as i said to the other guy i gave him the choices on price range. And yes YU is an Indian company but I saw people around me using it and it is good enough i mean given the liberty to do anything with the device, few tweaks would make it a good one. And the model was different its going to launch in this week with flagship specs. So he can keep it to compare the models you know.

Don't go for note 4. I've been using for 1 and a half year and I regret it. I don't want to change to note 5 and wait for another year for note 6 or note 7 edge (whatever they want to call it).
P's. It's a Korean company and not an us, europe or whatever your country coming from.
To OP, just go to the shop and try both. Better to try yourself then asking other people.
I just picked up a used N901F for a ludicrously cheap price and I'm going to give it a week or so to see how it compares to my N9005 with daily use before I decide if I keep it or not. The biggest issue will be battery life as the Note 3 rocked in that department! I travel a lot so I need battery life and stability so I'm a little hesitant to go down the custom ROM route (didn't have too many issues with my HTC HD2 in that respect) so I've rooted it stuck TWRP and xposed on, installed most of my old apps and gsam battery monitor to keep an eye on what's going on with the battery.
This is my first time using MM - any apps/features you guys recommend either specifically on the Note 4 or even MM in general?
You can go for Note 4, eyes closed, great phone.
Seriously, that's a very funny post, Yu and other phones compared with Samsung, and that too a Galaxy Note phone. I live in India too, and I too do see ghatiya (rubbish) phones being used nowadays, LeEco, Lyf, Xioami etc., those could never be compared with a Samsung or brands like that at first place! Also just by seeing a phone, that too used by other people, you can't conclude a decision, let alone recommending it to someone!!! Weird!
Note4life only note 6 next!!!

I'd honestly say that the Note 4 is a excellent device even by today's standards. I've seen some retailers sell it at a much lower price than when I purchased mine last year.

What would I miss ?

Hello , I usually change my phone every 2-4 years I'm not looking for the latest tech or anything . Lately I was considering the Galaxy S 7 , Note 5 , LG G6 but the one without dac and wireless charge .
the note 5 is 2015 you know so should I really consider it over the other 2 ? what would I miss getting the note 5 over the S7 ?
one last thing anyone know good sellers on ebay selling new note 5 most of the seller I read in the reviews its refurbished advertised as new .
also you want to recommend a phone within that league would be great .
I'd also throw a Nexus 6p into that mix of good possible devices. Just make sure if it's a Nexus 6p you get one that has been refurbished or has at least had a new battery installed in it because tons of 6p's had early battery shutdowns due to defective batteries. But other than that it's an excellent device, it's still my daily driver, and you can pick them up for even cheaper than a used Note 5.
I did however just order a Note 5 from eBay, should be here Monday. I've never owned a Samsung device, I've always been a Nexus user, but I've been thinking about upgraded soon and I was thinking maybe a Note 8. But since I've never owned a Note device I'm just not sure if I'll actually use the Spen, and if I don't then I might as well save some money and just buy an S8+. So, basically I bought a Note 5 to use for a while and see if I'll use the Spen. Then later I'll sell both my 6p and Note 5 and either buy an S8+ or Note 8.

How do you know the Note 5 battery is good in the one you are buying? From what I've heard only factory refurbished devices get their battery changed. Other eBay sellers claim seller refurbished they just check the device that it works.

I assume you mean how do you know the Nexus 6P battery is good (I'm not aware of any battery issues with the note 5). I'd only buy a Nexus 6p from someone on eBay that can provide some kind of proof the battery was replaced (like a receipt for a new battery). If they can't provide proof, then you should be paying $50+ below value for it which would cover the cost of a repair shop replacing the battery.

I don't think there was any battery issues with the Note 5 , but I was making my reference about the refurbed or used Note 5 that you were buying having a fresh battery or not. After all the devices are two years old now and folks are changing their batteries of their note 5 I've read already.

Oh ok. Yeah that's a little tricky, this note 5 I bough is only down about 20% of it's capacity (originally new supposed to be 3000mah and currently only shows 2350mah in Accubattery health status after several charges). If your lucky the seller will be able to show you some Accubattery screenshots of the battery health after a few charging cycles. Otherwise it's just kind of the luck of the draw.

Note 8 to Note 9. Bump in Battery life?

Anybody here upgraded from a Note 8 to Note 9 and can comment on how much better the battery life is?
The note 8 battery life for me has been dissappointing. I just sent mine in for repair and it is coming back tomorrow looking prestine. I started thinking of selling it in its refurb condition on ebay for around maybe 350 and take a hit and get a used Note 9 with the hopes of getting a better battery as a result.
Is this worth it? The improved camera and speakers is also a plus.
But my main concern is battery life. The Note 9s are going on Swappa for 500 bucks on average
This table already indicates that the stamina is similar .. despite the larger battery at Note9. Note8 chipset is more economical..

how many is considered good?
Also can't I just send it to samsung repair shop or samsung themselves under manufacturer warranty to have the battery replaced?
When I had deep discharge issue with my ued Note 8, able to turn my phone in to get the battery replaced. I'd assume they'll take it for normal wear on battery?

As an example I sold two note 9 devices on swappa earlier this month. One was bought in August new and one in October new. 2018.
The charge discharge figures were 158 on one and 178 on the other.

This table already indicates that the stamina is similar .. despite the larger battery at Note9. Note8 chipset is more economical..

Again Google it for yourself, I don't really care what that guy posted.
I'm giving my experience and everything I've seen on the topic. Take it as you like.

Try and get a seller to send you a screen shot using Phone Info app of the amount of discharge cycles the battery has currently.

I just downloaded the phone info app on my Note 4. Where would one go to see how many charge discharge cycles are on the battery?
I have both Note 8 and Note 9. Without bluetooth connection, the average sot for note 8 is 5-6 h. After I bought my galaxy watch, the sot drop to average 3-4 h. The battery life of note 9 is way better. 6 h sot with bluetooth connection with my galaxy watch.

Its interesting that you say that cause everyone thats responded to my thread on android central asking the same question, swear the Note 9 is much better. But now you are saying they are similar?

Yeah and this is all that shows up
Yep, doesn't work on the note 4. It will though on the note 8 or note 9 that you were looking at buying. Hence why I suggested if you want to get a used one on swappa you could ask the seller to screen shot that info for you using this app.

Note9 has a bigger battery, but almost 30% more power in both quiet mode, medium load and high load.
