[need help]Cannot delete/modify sd card files - Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi all, I have a problem with deleting/modifying files in SD card. Everytime I try to modify files in SD card, it requests access to SDcard which I will happily give, however file manager (miui and 3rd party file manager) always crashes after requesting access. Does anyone have any solution for this?
There is no problem with my sdcard, tested in another device. Tried formatting sdcard, no avail. My device is mi cc9 meitu edition

Good. You could also have deleted them by using a root explorer and looking for them in /data/media/0 instead of /sdcard.

[Q] Application not installed [snote] AzureROM

I have at&t note 3 with AzureROM on slot 1. I tried to install S note application since it was removed from the ROM. I put the Snote3.apk file in sd card then opened it using file manage. The installation started but "Application not installed" showed up. I have tried put the apk file in phone storage instead of sd card before installed but I still got the same error.
FYI. I got the apk file from AzureROM bloatware folder.
Are there other methods I can use to install the app?
Try pushing it to the system app folder and rebooting. It should should be there after rebooting. If not open system app folder and install it from there.

I tried that but the phone does not let me put a file in system folder. It showed error with "Could not write file" message.
You have to change the system folder permission to r/w (read/write) because it's r/o (read/only). Push the app to the folder. Then set the app properties to rw-r-r. Followed by resetting the system folder to r/o. Reboot

[Q] MTP Application 1.0 APK

Hey guys! So I successfully managed to root my Galaxy S Advance running stock 4.1.2 Jellybean (Italian firmware I9070XXLQL) and installed SuperSU and TitaniumBackup. I was uninstalling unnecessary bloatware using a couple of lists made by other forum members. One of the apps I deleted was called MTP Application 1.0 (I think?) because it is only required for connecting to a computer via Kies and I don't use that anymore (Android File Transfer all the way!) But now my phone does not get recognised by AFT at all. Unfortunately I'm a klutz and forgot to make a backup of the application before deleting so now it cannot be recovered. Can someone possibly provide me with the APK? It is a system application and I have granted root access to ES File Explorer. Just need the application itself. Thanks!
Edit: I've already searched online and can't find the APK anywhere on the Internet.
Here you go. I attached the file. I use xxlql deodexed and pulled this from the preload partition. I think you must put this apk in the app folder on preload partition and give it permissions. Good Luck.

Hey thanks! I downloaded the APK, moved it to the appropriate folder and changed the permissions. Now my phone is getting recognised by AFT. Thanks once again for the speedy response!

Hi. Can you give instructions on how to install the APK? Like which folder to put it in and how to give permission?
Thanks so much!

You must be rooted. Once you are done rooting your device you must install root explorer or es file explorer. Then grant root permissions to that app. Now move the apk file to preload/app folder in root of the device. Then choose properties of the apk file and set permissions. You can youtube the procedure. Good luck.

OBB access

Rooted pure. Can't view android/obb folder in any root explorer. I can verify it is there by switch to its directory in terminal emulator. However I can't write to it. "Error permission denied "
Does anyone know how to make it visible and set write permissions?
I am NON ROOTED
I can only add files or overwrite them, by making a obb folder anywhere else, putting the files in it ,then moving this folder inside the Android folder
Sent from my XT1092
Hmm. I can do that. However it say that folder exist so I have to overwrite it. Seeing that I can't view it I'm worried there might be something I need in it.

Same problem here
I tried changing permissions in terminal but I couldn't make it visible. It wouldn't even let me delete the folder because the device or resource is busy. It would be nice to fix this. Maybe with twrp you could delete the folder and make a new one that would be visible.

Hi,
I was also facing the same problem and by some hit and trial i was able to see the folder and write to it. This is what i did:-
1) I used ES File Explorer.
2)In it if you search for obb folder using the "search" option you are able to see the obb folder and the files in it.
If you want a step by step guide i have written it in the following page:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57161290&postcount=3

I saw that post. Thanks. I can get into the folder and write to it, but I would really like to make it visible. I think its really odd that with root you can view all the other folders, but not to the obb folder. If anyone knows why, that would be helpful.

android 11 root problem miui 12.5

hi.I rooted the phone using magisk, it was installed and apparently rooted, but I have a problem with root file programs like root explorer or es file manager. The problem is that the rw mount does not work or I even have trouble installing busybox.
my phone : redmi note 10 pro
miui version : 12.5.8 and 12.5.9
android version : 11
magiak version : 23
I don't know deeply this case, but it was told that mounting r/w is not possible in recent Androids for system partitions.
However this is Magisk benefit that you put your files to it's tree and Magisk overmounts original files, I guess it does it using option "mount --bind".
You put file into /data/adb/modules/<module_name>/system/etc/<exemplary file> and after reboot you see it under /system/etc/.
At least the above path was checked personally by me by changing /system/etc/gps_psds.conf file to my own.

I want to install a program as a system, but it is not possible without rw mount, do you know the solution?
I presume you have at least one Magisk module installed.
Put it into /data/adb/modules/<any_Magisk_module_name>/PATH_WHERE_YOU_WANT_TO_HAVE_IT/.
If wanted directories don't exist - create them.
Reboot.
Check.
Maybe tune permissions to make file executable.
Report result here.

I have no problem installing the module. My problem is accessing the system / app folder and making changes.
What changes do you want to perform?
Change one or more of files there, right?
If so - I repeat.
Put your modified file(s) under /data/adb/modules/<any_installed_Magisk_module_name>/system/app/ and reboot.

I do not want to install the module, I want to move an apk file to the system/app folder that is installed as a system and can not be deleted
I wasted my time.
Good luck.
I devoted a while to check that I was right suggesting what I suggested.
