10.3.6.0 is the latest fastboot firmware for Mi 9 Lite before MIUI11. Keep it somewhere in your harddrive !
I don't like miui11 too. It looks ugly !

Where exactly did you found the slowdowns? I upgraded do miui11 a few days ago and didnt notice any real difference In speed compared do miui10 (10.3.6.0).

I can't downgrade from miui 11 to 10 with updater app, because there is no update thru recovery option...
So i can't choose recovey rom.

Holly crap,it worked.Thanks!! ?
How is now your battery life?Is it the same as miui11 or better?
Can someone please answer my above question??

Hi guys.
I have some battery drain and some signal drops (the signal drops, the phone goes to the lock screen and the signal comes back in some seconds) in miui 11.
I'm thinking about downgrade to miui 10 (global rom), with locked bootloader. Reading this topic, it seems that the best way is to use a recovery ROM. Is that right? What's the best miui 10 version (thinking about stability/battery) and where can I download it?
Thanks!

Download Downmi app from playstore.Choose your phone and desired miui version, fastboot rom or recovery.

I downloaded downmi and tried to flash the recovey rom via updater, but it says: sorry flash older version is not allowed.
Is that right?

Check antirollback.

I checked it and got the result "anti: 1".
Reading this topic, I thought anti = 1 is a result that allow me to downgrade to miui 10. Is that right?

if you want to downgrade you have to unlock the bootloader then use fastboot of miui 10 to install that version or use recovery version with twrp recovery. But it's a failure attempt to downgrade while your device is locked.

I you want to downgrade to an OFFICIAL rom designed for your version of phone (EEA, Global, China etc), locked bootloader shouldn't be a problem. Am I mistaken?

Where to find last Miui without Arb ?

Hello,
I got a new Mi 8, and didn't do any update to not get ARB (9.5.13.0)
As my bootloader is still lock for a couple of week, i would like to update MiUI to the last official stable version that don't have ARB.
Couldn't find any clues about :
- which is the last version (just found that anything after 9.5.17.0 should have it, but it seems for Redmi Note 5)
- where i can download it
Any idea ?

Just update through OTA for the lastest stable version. When you unlock your bootloader you could flash MIUI eu without ARB or any kind of ROMs you want to flash and enjoy it! That's how i do when i bought mi 8 one month ago. Update normally and dont be scared. Stable MIUI is still android 8.1 so no ARB confirmed. Without unlock bootloader you shouldnt flash anything except stock ROM.

i thought there is no ARB in stable ver until now ARB just prevent you to downgrade. If you like using global rom so nothing to consider. But if you want to go on other ROMs, you should stay where you are to be SAFE and wait to unlock bootloader and change to another one. I heard that if you dont want to be bricked when in ARB4 and downgrade to ARB 3, you just need to use MI Flash and flash stock China Rom (not global) in first then Flash the rom you want through TWRP. That's what i heard about :good:
Well, that's exactly why I'm looking for the last miui rom without ARB.
- to get update of the firmware (used by other rom)
- to switch rom without worry of brick
- to come back to miui if not satisfied at the moment by available rom

afaik no mi 8 rom has arb higher than 1. you can check that in flash_all.bat. also, you should be safe from arb bricking if you always flash with miflash.

That's what i said just update the lastest through OTA ( i dont think there is arb on the STABLE ver) but for the safety he should stay where he is, wait to unlock bootloader and change to another one without any concerns. After unlocking, MIUI eu beta or stable is a compatible choice with arb 1 :fingers-crossed:
What is the difference between "standard" (ota) rom and fastboot rom ?
I mean, there is like 400mo difference... so it's not just the script.
Does standard rom have firmware, etc..?
Well, i did the update, and still no ANTI variable on my phone, so you were right !

What do u mean "standard " and "fastboot" roms bro?
There 2 kinds of roms: Stock and Cook Roms
- Stock ROM is the ROM developed by Xiaomi. Thats i call Stock china ROM. And maybe your global ROM is stock too
- Cook ROMs are the other ones developed by developers from many countries. These Roms have many other function which are very usefull depends on user's purposes and optimized better than Stock.
- About OTA, maybe - just maybe because i aint sure the other cook roms have this function or not- is only on Stock ROM.
- the only way to flash stock rom is fastboot. And normally, cook roms are flashed through TWRP. But your global ROM could be flashed by both ways.

well, it's what is called "local update" (basically OTA update) and "fastboot update" (flash) on Miui website.
Here an exemple :
Official rom from Xiaomi (https://en.miui.com/download-346.html) :
miui_MI8Global_V10.0.2.0.OEAMIFH_f1b5f34c66_8.1.zip --> Size: 1.6G
But from the same page, you go to "Flashing Guide", then "fastboot update" (http://en.miui.com/a-234.html)
" Xiaomi Mi 8 Latest Global Stable Version Fastboot File Download"
dipper_global_images_V10.0.2.0.OEAMIFH_20180912.0000.00_8.1_global_7d6e5e4b45.tgz --> Size: 2.4G
(Just to be sure, i uncompressed the tgz and did a zip -> 2.38G)
800M of difference, "same" rom.

Now i could sure that global is stock rom but with 2 versions- 1 for fastboot and 1 for recovery. Fastboot ver has some system functions which will help you unbricke some softbricks like cannt flash other ROMs and stuck in fastboot, bootloop etc... Recovery could also helps you but sometimes you have to use fastboot when it cannt. When you want to update or go on other ROMs, use recovery or OTA is more faster than use fastboot. But when you dont sure about ARB and want to be safe, thats when you should use fastboot to downgrade because recovery like TWRP dont check ARB. Only downgrade, update to newer is ok. And fastboot has .tgz tag, recovery has .zip tag.

How to relock the Mi9 properly

Hi, I'd like to relock my phone, I've installed twrp and tested some custom roms. I saw that I needed to flash the stock fastboot rom (for me it's EEA) by selecting "clean all and lock" on Miflash. A lot was talking about brick, "system has been destroyed", is the method mentioned above good ? There's also the method with the fastboot command, "oem lock" or something like that but I don't know how to use it properly....
I want to lock on a miui11 version, I currently use miui12, any anti rollback protection ?
Thanks a lot

Oh and just a last question, I saw that a miui 12 official stable version is out. When I unlocked the phone I was on miui 11, can I lock directly by flashing the miui 12 lastest fastboot rom ? If not, will I receive the ota on miui 11 directly after flash (if I flash miui 11 of course) ?
Solved
I finally successfully locked the smartphone like that (MIUI v11.0.9 + update MIUI v12.0.1), thank you very much for the precisions.

Question Can stock zips be flashed with mi 11 twrp?

Just wondering if the stock zips can be flashed with twrp?
I tried numerous stock zips and the ROM flashes successfully with no errors, xiaomiflashtool V2 is also successful, however when the phone boots no matter which stock ROM succeeds, Xiaomi.eu is the ROM that boots.
I don't want to use mi-flash, my phone is eea(Vodafone) and I'm trying to flash eea global, when switching with mi flash it activates ARB and bricks the phone. I know it does because I have already done so and got a replacement from Vodafone.
Any help to flash a stock ROM would be appreciated, I'm stuck with xiaomi.eu as it stands.
Cheers.

Mine doesn't fail though, it succeeds. Well shows it succeeds but boots to xiaomi.eu each time.
Xiaomiflashtool V2 also succeeds with the stock ROM , but same outcome is present, xiaomi.eu boots each time.

Hi you can, but you need the bl unlocked, also with china phones you might need root for gpay, banking fp etc.... with the bootloader unlocked these things may or not work, however on Chinese phones the bl must remain always open on a custom rom, otherwise the phone will brick.

Question Need help to set back stock ROM

Hello,
I have bought a Mi 11 yesterday version M2011K2G,
I found out that the bootloader was unlocked on it, but when I check it has a global ROM installed already on it,
the thing is that it's not making any update, so I guess it's not an original ROM ?
I want to put back the original ROM and lock the bootloader back in order to have updates,
can you please help me on how I can do this without breaking the phone ?
or I'm I not getting the updates just because the bootloader is unlocked and if I lock it I will get them back ? I'm just scared if I lock it back the phone will break,
or you think I should install back the ROM and lock it back to get everything better ?
Thanks !

Normally an unlocked bootloader has no affort to the update. How did you get notice about that? If your bl is really unlocked I would stay with that.
Are you maybe on latest version? Can you take a screen shot of settings - my device - All secs

I know it's unlocked cause I see the unlocked "padlock" when I restart the phone, other than this I don't have any idea of what modification could have been done to it since I'm used to use my phone the way they come with, thats why I want to get it back to stock ROM or get the updates to make sure it's all good

My first step on new phones are always to unlock the bootloader so I can flash root and restore the apps with titanium.
And I got always updates through Ota.
I switched to xiaomi.eu rom, because it was faster with miui 12.5

thanks man, I will try install this ROM you gave me, I have noticed that when I make "download latest packages" it directly says "impossible to download..."
I wonder why it's doing this
Sorry if I misunderstood you, but you will have to scroll down until you see fastboot then a bit more to 'full rom' and click on the blue button
Edit:
Tested it right now and it works fine for me (download started)
Edit 2:
Seems to work with MI flash tool too:
Found on the mitool side:
Step 1: Download the correct Fastboot ROM on the Windows PC by double-checking the compatibility. Then extract and get the workable extensions on the PC (use the Rom above)
Step 2: installation bla bla
Step 3: too
Step 4: too
Step 5: Then attach the ROM file
Step 6: Switch Xiaomi device into the Fastboot mode. So turn off the device and simply take a long press and hold the keys of Volume Down and Power keys
Step 7: Then connect the device to the PC with a proper USB cable which is in the Fastboot mode
Step 8: Now you can enter the tool interface and check whether the device is connected
Step 9: Then select the most suitable flashing option from all three “Flash all”, “Flash all except storage” and “Flash all except data and storage”
Step 10: Hit flash from the top of the window and wait for several minutes
Step 11: Once the process is done you can reboot and finalize the process successfully.

one last question and I leave you,
my phone is a 12gb 256 (chinese) if I install that same ROM I installed, will I get autoupdates on it or that version can only update on it's chinese ROM ? any idea ?
For my understanding it will work too. The 12 GB ram is EU is not available but it's only additional ram and does not have an other rom.
... So if you can install and use your phone with that rom you will have no issues with updates

Be careful, don't lock bootloader with a global or EEA ROM on CN hardware, you will brick your phone.
Take care when using Miflash with CN flashed to global. Now you are on production software, best to stay there unless you want to install custom ROMs. OTAs should work now. 12.5.1.0 is the latest for EEA.

Take care when using Miflash with CN flashed to global. Now you are on production software, best to stay there unless you want to install custom ROMs. OTAs should work now. 12.5.1.0 is the latest for EEA.

Isn´t all Mi 11 CN = China hardware ? I think it is safe to relock bootloader if you are on original ROM. Do you mix hardware and rom with each other.

do you think that even if it's a Chinese version, if I'm on an officiel original ROM (even if it's global and not chinese) I can relock the bootloader ?

It all depends what is your current ROM (you didn't post a single word about).
If you are on Global, just update.
If not, please look around and learn about switching from e.g. China or EEA to Global, etc. Guides can be found on XDA and elswhere

Well do you have twrp as your recovery?
If not, see if you can unlock your bootloader in developer options and then flash twrp in download mode.
From memory:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot only works for me in Linux these days. Windows doesn't recognise my device, even after installing all the drivers.
